We all say a lot of stupid things. Well I do anyway.
Would you like coffee? It'll take me an age to make it because I'll forget, but you're welcome if you'd like some? I also have chococinno muffins, Victoria sponge and other random food that comes from living with lots of other people.

Millie2013 · 04/02/2015 09:57

Mitchy. I just. Stopped. Went completely cold turkey and told Drs/nurses that I didn't want to know my weight. It was bloody hard tho

happyyonisleepyyoni · 04/02/2015 10:50

Can I invite myself in for coffee? I'm always late to the party.
I can offer chocolate digestives round if anyone wants one.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 04/02/2015 10:52

Course you can.

I haven't made it yet Confused

I'm trying to change my lightswitch. I took it apart three weeks ago and only now am I trying to fix it.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 04/02/2015 10:53

Had to call in sick to work today, just couldn't face people. Apologies to all my patients if you're reading this.

I'll gladly take coffee from anyone offering as long as it isn't instant as it makes me feel queasy.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 04/02/2015 10:53

Oh MP you poor love. What time is therapy tonight?

It's fresh coffee, in a cafetière.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 04/02/2015 10:58

7pm Caulk, can't come soon enough.

Coffee from a cafetiere would be lovely. I take it black with no sugar.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 04/02/2015 10:59

That's the only way to take it, obviously.

happyyonisleepyyoni · 04/02/2015 11:02

Hope you feel better soon mentalpsychiatrist.

Cafetiere coffee-lovely. I have a bad headache and I think it's caffeine withdrawal.

Going to see DS1 tonight- he is in an adolescent psychiatric unit. What a family we are. There is a nice coffee shop in the hospital, so I can take him there for a proper coffee as they are only allowed decaffeinated on the unit.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 04/02/2015 11:10

I remember the headache I got from caffeine withdrawal when I was last admitted. Heaven forbid we'd have caffeine lest we go wild.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 04/02/2015 11:12

My only time inpatient was on a short-stay surgery unit. I spent four days on a drip from the od and waiting for the psych team to come and decide what to do with me.
The coffee was great but I still got people to bring me stuff from Costa!

Mitchy1nge · 04/02/2015 11:16

our drinks were caffeinated, although last time (2011?) there were at least decaffeinated drinks on offer next to the standard

fucking mental bastards, offering us tea and coffee at 10pm and then waking us at 2am to give us more zopiclone - what is WRONG with people?

is nice to have SDTG and a yoni with us, I don't think any of us actually know one another really or didn't

anyway yes please to coffee but why is it always so watery when it's made in a cafetiere? I like it thick and strong

OP posts:
CaulkheadUpNorth · 04/02/2015 11:18

It's definitely not watery. I don't measure it so it's always pretty strong.

Millie2013 · 04/02/2015 11:24

Hugs MP and anyone else in need :(
I've got therapy today too, tempted to cancel, doubt I would get away with it, she's a bossy cow!!

happyyonisleepyyoni · 04/02/2015 11:27

Nice to meet you all too :)
I never know how much coffee to put in the cafetiere and spill loads all over the worktop.
On DSs unit they are also not allowed fizzy pop, mobile phones or 15/18 rated movies/games much to his disgust. However one boy allegedly managed to smuggle in some speed! Fortunately DS is very anti drugs.

Mitchy1nge · 04/02/2015 11:27

I'd love to try some, thanks it blatantly will be watery and I will have to be polite about it the stuff I brew is about halfway between espresso and ristretto

sorry you're not feeling up to work today mp, hope the time off helps a bit

everything is annoying today, especially my factitious cognitive decline

Mentalpsychiatrist · 04/02/2015 11:30

I've decided to spend the day drinking coffee and smoking cigarettes. It's quite enjoyable and makes me feel less shit.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 04/02/2015 11:33

It's strong nice coffee. Enjoy it everyone. Some of you don't have the nice mugs but that's because I can't be bothered to empty the dishwasher.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 04/02/2015 11:36

Hmm, latest research suggests lithium treatment reduces risk of dementia in adult patients.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 04/02/2015 11:37

Good because I don't want dementia.

Mitchy1nge · 04/02/2015 11:39

thank you caulk, I'll decant it into my earthenware frog mug (it has a little frog creeping up the inside) I can't drink out of things that are white on the inside and I particularly hate eating off white plates too

OP posts:
SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 04/02/2015 11:40

I've already drunk nearly a pint and a half of coffee today - I have my own coffee maker, and I make coffee so strong you could paint a fence with it (I can't think of the word for the stuff you paint fences with - lacquer is the only word springing to mind, and I know it's not that).

I've been out and bought a hot smoked salmon fillet for my lunch - it's cooked and chilled and I will have it with tomatoes and a bread roll, and then I have raspberries for pud. We won't mention the cream I bought to go with them.

Mitchy1nge · 04/02/2015 11:45

I can't even remember the specific areas of deficit, executive planning?

surely it would be pseudo-dementia or I wouldn't find it so stressful not being able to remember three whole things, or think of stuff beginning with the letter whatever

Mitchy1nge · 04/02/2015 11:49

lunch sounds great SDTG

thiscomputer is fucking painful to use, why does it keep freezing

am going to defrost my carefully portioned feta for lunch and 100g of skinless chicken breast for supper

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 04/02/2015 11:51

Creosote!! That's the buggering thing I had forgotten. Whew.
