The trouble is, the MH system, the NHS, and society in general do believe in categorical diagnoses, so if you get stuck with one that doesn't fit you very well, you get treatments that don't fit you very well.

Enpoid · 12/01/2015 20:44

Anyway, sod it Grin

What's everyone planning for this evening? I'm thinking of TV, dinner, GTA, bed. Watching a Panorama about extremism just now - it's very superficial Confused

CaulkheadUpNorth · 12/01/2015 20:48

That sounds good.

I'm following the advice of the crisis team and drinking tea whilst watching untaxing telly.

SnowyMouse · 12/01/2015 20:51

Sounds a good plan, enpoid and caulk

I'm hoping to go to bed soon.

brightandbreezyNot · 12/01/2015 20:52

hi millie2013 it is haemoglobin

brightandbreezyNot · 12/01/2015 20:54

hi it is the haemoglobin . The blood was collected at about 3pm

Mentalpsychiatrist · 12/01/2015 20:56

A haemoglobin level of 4 is very low. Please follow up with your GP.

Mentalpsychiatrist · 12/01/2015 20:57

My evening involves going to bed soon to read my book. My sleepless week is catching up with me.

brightandbreezyNot · 12/01/2015 20:59

thanks for advice MP. Will try to make an appointment tomorrow. My psychiatrist did say I needed to, but sometimes it can be hard

Enpoid · 12/01/2015 21:11

Hadn't done washing up so dinner was leftover curry and chickpeas instead of steak. Unfortunately DP spoilt it a bit by stirring in a load of turmeric pickle which wrecked the balance of spices and made it far too salty for my tastes, but I didn't phrase it quite like that Grin

Enpoid · 12/01/2015 21:18

What are you reading Mp?

CaulkheadUpNorth · 12/01/2015 21:19

Washing up is overrated.
I'm finding it ridiculously difficult to eat anything, knowing that the ed referral is in One Week.
I may even have posted about it already, it is one of only two things on my mind. Gah.

Mitchy1nge · 12/01/2015 21:26

yikes brightandbreezy, missed your post, hope you manage to call gp

that sounds a bit disgusting, turmeric pickle, is it too late for steak now?

I'd forgotten the theory behind a diagnosis opening the door to evidence based treatment - do people still pay lip service to that at least? Sometimes it doesn't look as if anyone can access the treatment they actually need. I think I'm still simmering with rage about #1 and the citalopram - and the increase in the number of prescriptions isn't new cases of depression being picked up, it's people staying on them for ages and ages.

Actually I'm feeling disgusting after making an enormous dent in the chicken biryani, vegetable curry and chilli naan as well as eating a whole portion of sag paneer. I hope by some strange alchemy it all turns into muscles overnight to support my back

Millie2013 · 12/01/2015 21:27

That is v low for Hb, I'm surprised you didn't get called right back. Do you feel poorly?
Or it might be an error, but either way it needs seeing to ASAP

I'm watching silent witness/eating giant choc buttons/facebooking/mumsnetting/having a text "discussion" with OH
Then I wonder why I can't sleep!!

Mitchy1nge · 12/01/2015 21:30

Caulk I saved you half of everything but I think the dog has eaten it Confused

brightandbreezyNot · 12/01/2015 21:32

Hi all, it is often low due to poor diet. Think I've escaped a call because my usual gp is off sick. Have had transfusions in the past.

On another note I am reading "wags go to Brazil, it is a laugh out loud satire look at football wags. It was free on Amazon kindle xxx

CaulkheadUpNorth · 12/01/2015 21:33

You fed my dinner to the dog? ShockShockShock

Mitchy1nge · 12/01/2015 21:41

I left it unattended, which amounts to same thing in dog law so he's not really naughty

am the only person on this thread with nothing to read or do

I have something about marathon nutrition but I feel a bit over nourished for it right now

please let my back survive a longish run tomorrow

CaulkheadUpNorth · 12/01/2015 21:43

Ok, I'll let him off. The cat did that to the friends dinner the other day. --I haven't told her).

I'm in bed watching The Good Life, not particularly informative but it's calming enough.

Mitchy1nge · 12/01/2015 21:48

haha I hope the cat didn't catch anything from your friend

dog is suffering Belle & Sebastian 'I want the world to stop' on repeat, he's lucky it's not Elliott Smith or Conor Oberst really

I am having the world's most boring argument discussion with DP about fibre to the cabinet and whether Virgin and BT use the same box on our wall.

Mitchy1nge · 12/01/2015 21:49
why so moreish?

Enpoid · 12/01/2015 21:52

Too late for steak. Curry eaten, yoghurt eaten, calorie target hit to within 18kcal.

CaulkheadUpNorth · 12/01/2015 21:54

Oh I love belle and Sebastian and that track.
Here is my contribution to the party

Millie2013 · 12/01/2015 22:09

Bright, transfusions are great, aren't they? I kicked up a right fuss when they said I had to have blood, as it meant I could never donate, but I was so poorly, I didn't have an option and I felt so much better afterwards. I hope you get sorted soon

I've had a half useful text convo with OH, re giving up work and my fear of dependency. This is progress, people!

I bloody love the Good Life, Caulk! I have the box set. I put the Christmas one on for DD, hoping to share my love, but she announced "I don't like it, lady and men programme". (She's only one, I can educate her..)
