Oooh. What's in the curry?

DP makes the curries Grin I'll ask him.

Apparently the sauce is onions, garlic, ghee, bell peppers, yoghurt, tinned tomatoes and spices, and the blobs of stuff are coriander, ginger, turmeric, and fennel (Hmm). Then it had a two chickens' worth of chicken pieces in it, and served with raita and parathas from a packet. Cooking is one of DP's hobbies so the freezer is stuffed with bags full of little lumps of grated fresh turmeric and homemade mint chutney and all kinds of mysterious substances.

It was bloody lovely. Which is good, because there's about eight portions of the stuff left in a massive saucepan in the kitchen.

Mitchy1nge · 10/01/2015 20:56

someone is excited about the curry

(I don't know who he is, just found him in a photo album)

I dread to think of the amount of work and washing-up a curry like that represents, actually, what with the making of the mint chutney to stir into the yoghurt for the raita, the preparing, freezing in trays, and rebagging of the coriander/ginger/turmeric/fennel, the growing of the fennel in the first place, the jointing of the chickens, the toasting and grinding of the spices for the homemade garam masala FFS Hmm etc.

Enpoid · 10/01/2015 20:58

Wow. That's... terrifying Grin

Millie2013 · 10/01/2015 21:17

LOVE the pony pics! I had an orange B (she is the one we lost last year, mercifully, she just dropped down dead, was healthy and happy to the end, aged 32)
Current DHorse is sec D ish (bit of Arab chucked in. We rescued her as a yearling, intended to sell on, then 10 years later..)
Just been to see the woman in black 2. Bad mistake :/ And Chinese afterwards :fat:

Mitchy1nge · 10/01/2015 21:30

that's a lucky way to go, brown horse is nearly that age (argh) am still riding him now and then, he's slowed down a bit but we still don't have brakes sometimes

here is the greatest spaniel for finding rats you didn't know were there, mere inches from you (have they no shame?)

He looks very proud of it but that rat's a tiddler Grin

I saw one twice that size sauntering across from behind the compost heap and sitting on my Mum and Dad's garden table over Christmas.

Enpoid · 10/01/2015 21:39

I have some Cineworld vouchers and was thinking of going to see Birdman next week.

Was Woman in Black 2 really really bad then?

CaulkheadUpNorth · 10/01/2015 21:42

See Into the Woods.

Mitchy1nge · 10/01/2015 21:44

(maybe it was bigger before he chewed it? he doesn't break the skin but nibbles them up and down, like a cob of corn, crunching all the bones until they stop twitching, and then he gives them to me)

Millie2013 · 10/01/2015 21:51

Lovely spaniel!! I miss having a dog around the place
Woman in black was good, but I ached from tension, by the time it finished. I also felt quite traumatised, but that might just be "me" at the moment!

Enpoid · 10/01/2015 21:52

Um. That's quite graphic, Mitchy. [wince]

I'm not really big on musicals, Caulky, but I've heard it's a good one?

Enpoid · 10/01/2015 21:54

Oh, I see what you mean now, Millie Blush

Mitchy1nge · 10/01/2015 21:59

sorry

I know, is one of the many yucky things I should learn to undergo privately instead of trying to sort of vicariously traumatise everyone around me

here is a nicer photo of him during the winter olympics last Feb, checking his gucci watch and wondering how much longer the curling can realistically go on for

No worries, rat people are generally pretty pragmatic about this stuff - comes with the territory Grin You do have a very descriptive way with words tho Wink

That last photo is gruesome tho - glasses? You cruel woman Grin

Millie2013 · 10/01/2015 22:13

I don't mind fluffy pet rats, in fact I stroke them
I do mind cheeky freeloading rats, who pinch my horse's feed and jump out at me/run up my arm, when I reach into a bag of rugs

Enpoid · 10/01/2015 22:16

Yep, you can't have wild rats around when you have pet rats, either.

Millie2013 · 10/01/2015 22:17

It's the surprise factor I don't like! I quite like rats who are introduced to me :D

Enpoid · 10/01/2015 22:29

Boo.

Enpoid · 10/01/2015 22:32

I wish I had a dog. I'd like a Jack Russell.

Enpoid · 10/01/2015 23:17

Am pretty much exactly one paratha over my calorie limit today.

Millie2013 · 11/01/2015 07:58

My friend has a jack Russell...for rat control!
Sunday, any plans anyone? I'm going to visit DHorse, then nothing much else planned, but I need to plan something to do, as drifting along is bad for me :/
How are you today, Caulk?

toothpasteinthetree · 11/01/2015 08:32

Morning all. Today I'm on Sunday School duty at church and then I'm errrrm just trying to sit things out, so to speak - I really need some more meds for the pains in my legs and chest but kept caving into my medical phobias and procrastinated and avoided phoning for an appointment until I completely ran dry, by which time I couldn't get an appointment for three weeks. My fault entirely I know, but arrrgh everything just hurts and hurts and hurts. Appointment is on Wednesday afternoon though, so not long now.
