Rock and roll

SnowyMouse · 19/12/2014 14:12

Sounds productive, caulkhead

I have finished small talk with visitors, one of whom commented on how well I seemed (acting mentally normal worked Grin ).

Porridge sounds yummy, mitch

CaulkheadUpNorth · 19/12/2014 14:44

Right. Talk to me about lithium.

Old diagnosis of borderline personality disorder has been thrown away but the lovely psychiatrist.
New diagnosis of latent-onset bipolar disorder to try for a fit.

Mitchy1nge · 19/12/2014 15:14

lithium is the salt of the earth, it has modest magical properties and is the choice of many of the more glamorous and discerning Mentally Normal

it is of course so far the only actual mood stabiliser we have, working effectively against depression and elation

it has a nice song written about it which, although eminem mentions seroquel in one awful song cannot be said of many of its conpetitors

it's quite hard to kill yourself with it in an acute fit of Mental Disorder because it's sooooo toxic you will sick and poo most of it out even when everything is already saturated

I don't really know I'm taking it aside from the thirst and absence of mental disturbance

Is it me or did it just get a bit more bipolar in here? Grin

How do you feel about the diagnosis changing Caulky?

CaulkheadUpNorth · 19/12/2014 15:27

I don't think it fits in the way of BPD did, but Freud believes it does due to how well I responded to quetiapine and how manic it made me

Now have the stress of trying to find somewhere to take my blood over Christmas...

My cmht seem to be only giving me things which would not be dangerous in large quantities. It's like I have a history of being mentally disordered or something. Wink

Mitchy1nge · 19/12/2014 15:31

lithium IS v dangerous

od can cause lasting neurotoxic nastiness

didn't mean to imply it was safe in overdose just that its lethality is more reputational than actual

have commenced house sitting and have had a bath and a shower instead of familiarising self with duties

back more coherently in a bit

CaulkheadUpNorth · 19/12/2014 15:46

It's ok, Freud spent AGES explaining how dangerous an od would be.

Enpoid · 19/12/2014 16:19

Bef, they're like that. I'm only allowed a week at a time of my antidepressants Hmm

CaulkheadUpNorth · 19/12/2014 16:33

I'm now allowed a MONTH of mine at a go. I fear this is because during a moment of being Mentally Disordered the medication I took too many of was over the counter pain killers.

Enpoid · 19/12/2014 18:25

You've got more sense than me - I used the prescription painkillers I've spent the last decade trying to show I'm responsible enough to have that I need for a medical condition Grin

Mitchy1nge · 19/12/2014 18:47

I don't remember ever not being allowed a month at a time of stuff, apart from when they bring it to you and watch you take it - times of being too mentally normal to be trusted to remember

and when I was 'bubble wrapped' and had those enormous folders with morning lunchtime evening and bedtime doses all arranged for me, that was weekly

is much more streamlined only having to think of one dose of lithiyuck I mean yum before bed

house sitting is fun, am making The Omelette where the grill doesn't work, shall I just fold it in half? Bake it?

OP posts:
Enpoid · 19/12/2014 19:09

Yeah frittata in a skillet in the oven is good.

Those pill folders are unbelievably expensive, apparently.

Enpoid · 19/12/2014 20:21

Is it skanky to take wine left over from my 18th birthday party a decade ago when visiting relatives this Christmas?

I don't drink wine. Is it likely to have gone off? It's been stored upright, unfortunately Sad

CaulkheadUpNorth · 19/12/2014 20:32

Have reversed my car into a wall and have eaten 11000000 calories of curry. Attempting to be Mentally Normal and accept that both these things are FINE.

Is the wine red or white?

Enpoid · 19/12/2014 20:33

Red.

Car okay? Caulky uninjured by shunt?

Enpoid · 19/12/2014 20:34

Trying to convince myself I don't have a migraine coming on as I'm no longer allowed to take sumatriptan, but my left nostril has suddenly started gushing clear fluid - unequivocal migraine sign. And DP's locked the codeine away

CaulkheadUpNorth · 19/12/2014 20:35

I'm fine. Was following on shitty therapy session and from trying to mind read where the housemate had ordered curry from and just misjudged a wall.

Red will be fine.

Enpoid · 19/12/2014 20:35

Yay! Everything's fine Grin

CaulkheadUpNorth · 19/12/2014 20:35

Put your hands over your eyes.

Enpoid · 19/12/2014 20:36

Okay

CaulkheadUpNorth · 19/12/2014 20:37

That's it. It does something for migraines. Can't remember what.

Enpoid · 19/12/2014 20:37

Is very nice. Helps. I may disappear somewhere for a while and hold my eyeballs.

Enpoid · 19/12/2014 20:38

Sorry to hear the therapy session was shitty. Are you feeling any better now?
