I was medium care, lower mobility and dropped to lower care, lower mobility. Also indefinite, both before and after change. Lower rate care is a big income drop.

I've also been moved into the support group for ESA. I was initially assessed into the work-related activity group from my long-term rate IB with incapacity age addition, so after a year I had no money coming in at all until I was reassessed, as ESA is only for a year if you're work-related. I had to rely on my DLA and DP's income.

EnpoTree · 13/11/2014 12:45

Perhaps a cool flannel on your face would help, Infinity?

EnpoTree · 13/11/2014 12:47

No money coming in except DLA, I mean - I tend not to count that, since HMRC don't, and I'm only meant to have it due to the extra expenses my being a worthless fuckwit incurs.

Mitchy1nge · 13/11/2014 12:49

ah I get contributions based ESA which means can do some work, was only assessed once I think?

although as I rarely do anything to secure payment for my efforts it's sort of moot as to whether I do too much or whatever

but don't get free prescriptions or any other means tested help

but is ok cos never prescribed anything interesting anyway

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 13/11/2014 12:51

Yes mine is contributions based, technically, though I've never contributed - it was something about the Incapacity in Youth rules allowing me to claim without having contributed at age 16, and have been treated as having contributed ever since.

EnpoTree · 13/11/2014 12:52

I'm basically a leech. I'm the drain on society people talk about when they talk about benefit claimants.

EnpoTree · 13/11/2014 12:55

Have just got letter from ASD service saying they can't offer me an appointment because they have so many people waiting, but that they can write again when they can offer me one, or I can go on the cancellations list if I call them. I don't know if I should be wasting their time like this.

Mitchy1nge · 13/11/2014 12:56

Parasites together! Scroungers forever! we need some colourful Lycra suits

Oh dear. The Power Rangers have affected your brain.

I'm afraid the prognosis is poor. Today, Power Rangers. Tomorrow, Transformers. Then it's all Digimon and Beyblades from there.

EnpoTree · 13/11/2014 13:03

Argh. Rang them. Engaged. Rang again, spoke to person on phone, was put on hold, then she asked for number to ring me back on. Stupidly scared of answering phone. Argh. I'm a fuckwit.

Mitchy1nge · 13/11/2014 13:04

my most fervent hope is to remain forever 'huh?' at those references

OP posts:
Mitchy1nge · 13/11/2014 13:06

I get the transformers and ASD references

EnpoTree · 13/11/2014 13:13

Is requesting an ASD assessment going to look bad on my record? Like another symptom of my defective character?

EnpoTree · 13/11/2014 13:13

Like I'm denying my diagnosis and seeking an excuse?

Mitchy1nge · 13/11/2014 13:15

is that what you think of people with autism, that they are defective? Hmm didn't have that impression of you

OP posts:
Mitchy1nge · 13/11/2014 13:17

they're not diagnoses of exclusion though are they

can have both

child #3 has autistic disorder and other things too - lucky her

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 13/11/2014 13:17

No I fear that I may be using the possibility that I have an autistic spectrum disorder as a way of explaining problems I have that are actually down to me being defective. Autistic people are not defective.

EnpoTree · 13/11/2014 13:19

Or people with autism. I don't know which you prefer. Some people with autism I've met prefer person with autism, and others I've met prefer autistic person. I'm sorry if I used the wrong one.

EnpoTree · 13/11/2014 13:21

I'm really sorry what I said was upsetting. I didn't mean to imply at all that ASD = defective. It's only me that's defective. I'm sorry.

Mitchy1nge · 13/11/2014 13:23

God knows! No idea. We just call it her 'autistic phase' nobody have ever once considered it until she came into contact with CAMHS at about 14yo and when they suggested it we were all eye rolly and 'yeah whatevs, new craze' but looks like they had a point

poor baby of a v troubled family! Overlooked

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 13/11/2014 13:23

I know I'm not normal. Normal people don't think in text tickers and have to translate to/from spoken language.

EnpoTree · 13/11/2014 13:24

I'm a youngest too; I sympathise Smile

Mitchy1nge · 13/11/2014 13:27

do you ever do the 'talk to yourself like it was someone else' thing?

I find it hard but also amusing to imagine my tirade of verbal self abuse aimed at some poor soul somewhere

we can be so awful to ourselves sometimes

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 13/11/2014 13:28

No, I'm not familiar with that. I would never tell someone else they were a worthless defective fuckwit though.
