Woop! Just got a call asking if I wanted to be visited today (er, no, ta) and telling me that they're about to call CMHT to hand me over to them. Finally getting off this daily checking up soon I hope Grin

I had a favourite rat. She used to share my food. She liked caffeine and dark chocolate. And booze.

And sittinf quietly on my shoulder, with her sister in the other one, until I forgot they were there and would accidentally walk into shops etc. where people would gulp at sudden imposition of excess rattage.

I suspect most horsey people do not overlap with ratty people, though, as you have to be quite vigilant with pest control with horses and it's probably quite hard to enjoy keeping pet rats and also have to kill wild rats all the time.

Ratty people seem to overlap with mentally interesting people though. Also alternative types.

The rat fancy is on the whole no stranger than any other, but there's definitely a coloured-hair, tattoos, and SH scars theme going on sometimes.

The guinea pig fancy is odd in a different way.

And bantam fanciers! Well, goodness me.

Dog breeders, it depends on the breed.

Cat fanciers, I know very little about as I struggle with cats. One fell asleep on me last night and I itch all over now.

Seriously, avoid the chicken folk.

OP posts:

And anyone who breeds bubble eye goldfish. Or tailless rats or munchkin cats or any of these other abominations

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 04/11/2014 15:34

I mean, one cat with shortened legs from a genetic mutation, okay, give the cat a healthy life, blah blah blah.

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 04/11/2014 15:35

One rat with a gene which causes malformation of the tail and pelvis, euthanise if necessary, give nice life if not.

Don't bloody breed thousands of them.

And before anyone says it I am not advocating for eugenics. Completely different thing.

Mackerel. Teatime teaser. Yes, I watch countdown.

Can't believe neither of them got wasteland.

The contestants are often surprisingly poor at the conundrum. It's the easiest round since you know there's a nine Confused

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 04/11/2014 16:00

Ahhhh, fifteen to one.

They mess about too much these days, though. It's noticeable when you watch the old ones how snappy they were.

Wish Sandi would ditch those terrible specs tho. They must have been really expensive cause they're just foul.

Oh god she doesn't know what an electron is very broadly?

That's like not being able to read.

OP posts:
EnpoTree · 04/11/2014 16:04

I just mean in terms of the question "subatomic particle with negative charge", not anything deeply complicated.

I'm related to physicists who would probably tell me they don't know what an electron is either. You get peaks and troughs of how much you think you know about something at different levels.

The only countdown conundrum I've ever got is...addiction! Funny that Hmm

I had rats once, black and white brothers, they were ace, their cage was always open, and they'd nick weed or joints from the ashtray and drag them into their bed Grin one died, and the other used to sleep on my pillow in my hair :(

EnpoTree · 04/11/2014 16:43

Yeah rats are basically just little humans when it comes to drugs. And they never pass it round after their go.

I don't get the conundrum thing. Clearly lots of people find it the hardest round but I find the uncertainty of the normal letters rounds FAR harder.

They're realy handy when you have stuff stuck in your teeth, too Grin
