I don't know where to post this and don't know what to do. I'm sitting here crying again with my 5 week old dd2 and just know that the best thing I could do for both of my girls is to get in the car and drive. If dd2 ever goes to sleep that is what I must do. I won't be leaving them alone and it will break my heart but it's what will be best for them. They deserve so much better than the useless failure of a mother they have.

I don't know why I'm posting this. I guess to feel less alone

Pumble, point your OH in the direction of this thread again - just send him a link to last night. You did so before & it helped. He really needs to know how you are feeling & am sure he will get some help for you.

Just do that one thing, please.

you ok pumble? hope you've managed to get a bit more kip in! sleep deprivation is used as a form if torture, so no wonder at all its getting to you love. does your DH know you're low again? talk to him, you're in this together.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 15/01/2013 11:51

DH is on your side, as are we. This is so tough but honestly, it will get better.

Pumble · 15/01/2013 12:24

No more sleep unfortunately. Pumblett 1 is poorly which is tough. Im really hoping she has a good nap thus afternoon. We are soldiering on. We are going out this afternoon come what may-we all need some fresh air.

Thank you Smile

Hope you can take it easy, snuggle in until fresh air beckons. She is barely out of babyhood herself, you are the centre of her world and doesn't measure love by how smiley you are or how superficially stimulating her day is. Morning's done, hope you get some lunch down you.

ImNotCute · 15/01/2013 13:39

Oops, hope you have an ok afternoon pumble. Don't know what it's like there but we actually have some wintry sunshine here, wrap up warm though!

If dd1 is unwell things will at least improve as she recovers. Until then there's always calpol and cbeebies. Take care.

magimedi88 · 15/01/2013 14:08

Hope you've got the sunshine we've got here, even though it's bitter. You are so right about going out for some fresh air - it's great for you all.

Take care.

magimedi88 · 15/01/2013 19:39

Just popping in, Pumble.

Hope all is reasonably OK.

Pumble · 15/01/2013 19:45

We all got through the day in one piece. Pumblett 1 is poorly and not a happy bunny and dh is up with her now. She's been very clingy today which Is understandable but hard with pumblett 2.

I am trying so hard to keep going. I really need some sleep.

OP posts:
Pumble · 15/01/2013 19:57

Is it bad that I keep feeling a little bit proud of myself that we all got to bedtime in one piece and still alive. I know that that shouldn't be an achievement but somehow at the moment it feels it.

ImNotCute · 15/01/2013 20:12

All getting through to bedtime is definitely an achievement! I remember reading something similar on here previously and used to think it to myself in the early days after having dc2.

Well done, keep up the good work. I really hope you get better sleep tonight, it's all a bit easier after decent sleep. Can you head up for an early night if both dc settle ok?

Almostfifty · 15/01/2013 20:16

It's an achievement to get through the day full stop when you've small ones, even more so when they're poorly!

Pumblett 1 obviously needed her Mummy today. Hope she's better tomorrow.

It is a major roll drums achievement - you are doing do well Pumble.

And you are so obviously aware of what you are achieving - that's just such a good sign.

Are you taking the AD's? Sounds like you are & they are slowly kicking in.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 15/01/2013 20:33

Absolutely Pumble, another day passed and one day at a time is enough right now.

NoWayNoHow · 15/01/2013 20:42

pumble I have read your whole thread and just wanted to say that you are a wonderful mother. Anyone who is so desperate for their DC to be happy can only be a wonderful mother.

Judging by what you're saying about DD2 and her birth, unsettledness, hyper-alertness, it may really be worthwhile taking her for one session with a cranial osteopath. It can do no harm, but can do the world of good.

In hindsight, I probably had PND, and I think it was largely because DS just never, never, never stopped screaming. All the time. Turns out the poor little boy had a permanent headache as a result of his birth, and after one session he was a completely different child. DH and I had many times where we both sat in floods of tears whilst DS cried until he was purple in the face. Honestly, it's worth a shot as sleep deprivation can be torturous, and it makes it so much harder to cope with anything else.

magimedi88 · 15/01/2013 22:42

Just to say 'Goodnight' & I hope you get a bit of sleep tonight.

Massive hug to you Pumble xx

BistoBearWithBaublesOn · 16/01/2013 00:56

Hope you're having a settled night Pumble with lots of sleep :)

geekette · 16/01/2013 07:50

hi pumble. hope you have a better day today.

DonkeysDontRideBicycles · 16/01/2013 08:41

Good morning Pumble how are you, and Mr Pumble, how is DD1 today, how is DD2 doing?

cq · 16/01/2013 08:48

Pumble, if you have no family or friends nearby who can give practical help, have you thought about contacting HomeStart? You sound exactly like one of the case studies on their website. Don't be afraid to ask for help, even if its just to take the DDs out in the buggy while you have a much-needed sleep.

Pumble · 16/01/2013 09:35

We all got some sleep last night which was much needed. Pumblett1 still poorly but seems a little better. And the frankly fantastic news is that pumblett2 didn't scream yesterday evening! Even if a one off it was lovely to have a night off from it! We are off to the post office this morning for some fresh air. Hopefully the walk will do us all good Smile
