Trigger? Nah not a bit of it.

My favourite cold remedy is hot chocolate, can't go wrong.

I actually made coffee as hot drink of choice today, but now wish I'd thought of hot chocolate, and snowmash, it's always b.cold in Yorkshire..
I was born here though, and am certain it used to be colder when I was younger, probably as no central heating at home then so I'm usually happy enough to have a warm house.
Sorry you're feeling cold though, why not have a hot drink?
I don't want to be nosy, but have you had some lunch today?

I've run out of milk, horlicks, squash and hot chocolate (last two run out quickly as they have milk powder in). If I had honey I'd make honey & lemon. I don't really like black tea.

I haven't had lunch, but that's my fault for running out of bread/most food (and not really hungry). I will have to go to the supermarket when it gets dark.

Mmmm ok but are you sure you wouldn't fancy doing it while it's light?
Anyway let's spend time drawing up a shopping list, now other than milk etc what good things do you need?
Bubble bath? body lotion? crunchie biscuits?

Lemon juice in hot water is surprisingly good, and will help to warm you up, also weak black tea with lemon is a reasonable alternative.
Being short of food can make you cold too, so a shop does seem a good idea. I'd go in daylight too, I think, but it's a long time since I was out at night! (Weird woman emotican required)
Good idea balloonballs, got to have something nice to eat with boring bread and milk. Maybe some long-life milk too for future?

Milk, bread, cheese (or ham/something).

I can't buy snacks because I told myself that I had to get out of the house for 4 days out of 7 to do that, and I haven't been.

Bubble bath and a glossy trashy magazine then?

I'll look for the longlife milk - I do tend to freeze milk, but that only works if I then buy some more.

Maybe a magazine - haven't had one in ages.

Mmm...depends on her reaction, she might not think so.

snowmash - IMO, the NHS is there for everyone - some people are lucky and never have to use it, others are unlucky and do. But it's not YOU that's making it expensive - you can't help needing treatment.

Stop being a silly sausage! Smile

I could see if anything treat-ish is marked down - hard to find anything that appeals in honesty.

I am silly though - one of the reasons I want to wait later is because I don't want to go past the surgery when there are people in there - don't know why, can't go in that side because of stairs.

Hummus is one of my real pleasures in life.

Too late to join in with treat list - I'd have suggested avocado, which doesn't need cooking or butter - (like hummus, it's sometimes just right if there's not much appetite)- and keeps like the long-life milk, so ideal for people who cba to shop every day.
Snowmush, I do hope you find something nice at the shop, because yes, you do deserve something nice.
Snacks are actually very practical if living alone, sensible to eat a small something rather than get tired cooking then not eat it all.

Be back in a couple of hours.
Hope you'll have something good to eat snowmush.

Avocado's a good idea too, thanks. Supermarket was overwhelming, got two bottles of milk and a loaf of bread though (too hard to get round). Now feel completely empty and strange.

Thanks for everyone's help today.

Hope you managed to have something to eat or did you get bread and milk only from the supermarket?
Yes, pats on the back for getting there, and I do hope you're feeling a bit better.
By the way, I freeze milk too, but this is the f
irsttime I've 'met' anyone else who does this. Sorry, have to answer the Skype thing now.

Apologies for strange gap in my last post, and for having to reply to Skype. Snowmash, have you had something to eat yet?

Report
snowmash · 02/02/2011 22:20

I've eaten thanks - just been reading this thread through, and still can't see what I've said wrong/what isn't thinking straight, which is strange, and makes me wonder why tell GP. Confused

It's ok as long as I eat something - somehow gone up 2-3 dress sizes just round my middle, and just drinking makes me feel full at the moment.

Freezing skimmed works well - I've not tried the others.
