@Bubbles44
@Smartmove
@Everythingaches

This is the new thread to discuss us using fasting to get to our goal weight. Believe it or not but this is the third thread with the first from around 18 months ago!

No I am not at goal yet. I dare not look at what I weighed then as there is a good chance I'm about the same weight now having recently put back on!

Anyway. Now is the time to keep going. To allow for a bit on over Christmas and get a head start for the New Year. 2025 I WILL get to goal!

Anyone else is wearing to join.

My starting weight was probably 12:9 at heaviest. I'm just over 11 stone now and my goal is around 10:3.

Let's go!

Made it to gym but not for long. Hoping to manage the soup for dinner and stop there ready to weigh in the morning.

Good day here too! Nervous about the weekend. I really struggle letting my self plan an indulgence. But if I don’t I know there is a good chance I’ll fail. So right now my plan is Saturday afternoon if I fancy a sweet treat that’s fine! Ahhh it’s hard!!
will Probably keep weighing the next few days!

Everythingaches · 28/11/2024 19:37

Well done! I’ve realised Thursday afternoons I struggle, maybe after 3.5 days of being good I waver. Closed my eating window for today.

Was up at stupid o clock to go to an exercise class.

hollyblueivy · 29/11/2024 07:18

10:13:7 - in the 10's by a whisker but I'll take it.

Goal for next Friday is 10:12:00

Need to try and not immediately self sabotage today and this weekend.

Everythingaches · 29/11/2024 22:49

Hmm not a good evening, had chocolate biscuits and dough balls with garlic butter when I was meant to be fasting.
4 weeks until Christmas and 5lb to go.

Smartmove · 30/11/2024 06:53

@Everythingaches doesnt sound terrible, u didn’t fast but also doesn’t like u had an all out binge! Is that ur goal weight? U will do that. Well done on ur drop yest

im
about to weigh and not feeling at all hopeful!

im getting a lot of comments about my weight loss atm it must be the excercise as im only down 2 pounds from summer! But everyone weird noticing it!

Smartmove · 30/11/2024 07:23

10 stone

now what do I do!? That was hard work!!!! Shall I loose another 1/2 and make 9-12 to 10 my range??? Or stop
how do u know when to stop!

hollyblueivy · 30/11/2024 08:02

Well done @Smartmove you have achieved your goal, that is fantastic. Can you share what clicked for you in the final half a stone to finally get you there or any tips on what you do? I need your help!

In terms of what to do now, I would say don't go too low that it will be difficult to sustain and maintain, or you may end up feeling in a constant battle. If you can eat relatively normal and maintain around the same weight without continuously feeling restricted. That is probably the sweet spot.

Big well done though xx

Bubbles44 · 30/11/2024 08:20

That’s amazing @Smartmove well done! You’ve done it! You have done amazing this last month! What an achievement! I would say stick at this, as tempting as it is to go lower.
I got to 9.7 last year and have been battling to get back there ever since. And I’ve been so hard on myself that it’s such a struggle and ultimately led me to bingeing. when in reality 9.13 is good for me. BMI is 20 and clothes fit well.
You’ve motivated me for a good weekend!

Bubbles44 · 30/11/2024 08:20

Would you say weighing once a week has made a big difference?

Smartmove · 30/11/2024 08:23

Thanks @hollyblueivy it’s been really hard! I’m not gonna lie. And I’m also no expert!!!

i I think for me the continuous overrestriction and then over eating was stalling things. I’ve upped my cals a bit and it’s worked? I’ve also added in excercise and for nearly 80 percent of my weight loss it has played no part but I wonder if this last 4/5 pounds which have been difficult it’s meant I can eat a bit more ?
I’m also eating more fibre hoping it keeps me full - apple a day and lots of pulses which I never did.

I still don’t feel slim though? I thought I would! I’m glad I’m healthier and I’m stronger (just bought myself some heavier weights) but I have fat on my belly and Renpho scales still place my sub cut fat only just acceptable but I don’t know how accurate it is?

im out tonight but I think this week I’ll try be good and see if I can get another pound off? Then I’ll stop. I have no other plans so I may as well! Then the maintence phase…..

this thread has also been great at keeping me accountable and reminding me I’m not a failure when it’s not working and that everyone finds it though!

Smartmove · 30/11/2024 09:25

@Bubbles44 yes I suspect u look fab! And it looks like this weight ur at is where u manage to maintain . U excercise and are healthy and fast. U r def winning!

yes it has. It stops my self sabotage . Also The week I weighed midweek and hadn’t lost I also got so cross and angry! Not knowing my weight in week makes me focus after the weekend and the inevitable up and down isn’t messing with my mind anymore!

my bmi is now 22.5, if I can get to 9.13 then I’m stopping and if I don’t I’ll stop anyway and enter maintence (dangerous time coming though!!!!!)

hollyblueivy · 30/11/2024 09:54

Brilliant reflections on the process, it really has been a journey hasn't it, like learning to actually eat more so you dont overeat. It's trial and error for sure!

I hope you will continue to stick around and hopefully it won't be too much longer for me to get to where I want to be so I can join you in the happy maintenance era, have a great weekend!

OP posts:
Smartmove · 30/11/2024 11:55

I’m def staying ! I’ve no idea how to maintain! Plus this week is a quiet one for me so maybe I can drop a bit more?

@hollyblueivy u will do it! But it’s not easy and motivation comes in starts and stops. I listen to esg fitness most days she gets in the zone I think I need to keep doing that too….

hollyblueivy · 01/12/2024 09:31

The weekend is not going well!

OP posts:
Smartmove · 01/12/2024 12:43

I was out yest wasn’t a disaster but wasn’t great! Half on plan today
back to it tmrw. Will weigh next sat

then into maintenance!

Bubbles44 · 01/12/2024 19:31

Hello, how has everyone got on today?
mixed weekend for me. Really good today. Quite a lot of chocolate yesterday and a bit on Friday. I think I might just accept that’s my routine. On plan sun - thurs and more relaxed Friday night and Saturday. Not sure when I’ll weigh yet!

Smartmove · 01/12/2024 19:41

Today i had
porridge with strawberries
half a pizza
Chinese dinner
2 Lindt balls
2 wines

not good day! Go again tmrw!

hollyblueivy · 01/12/2024 21:27

@Bubbles44 I am going to accept that approach with you. Life is for living and Friday and Saturday treats should help to stay focused during the week.

Today I've had egg on toast and soup with more toast and a doughnut.

I've had a lovely self care evening with hair oil, face mask, shower oil, full body moisturise, face serum and nails painted. I'm hoping it will help with the my body is a temple mantra this week, preparing for a nutritious and healthy week with lots of steps and exercise.

Want to stay in the 10's by Friday and ideally be 10:12 if possible.

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 02/12/2024 07:31

Yes, I think I agree @hollyblueivy . Feels the only way I can do it at the moment. Although makes it’s difficult to get back into it after an indulgent weekend. Also struggling as lots of chocolate in the house at moment. Usually don’t buy things I like, but hard to avoid in December!
Good week planned! Lots of exercise and fasting! Hope everyone is in the zone!

Smartmove · 02/12/2024 08:54

Yes agree girls! It’s both nice to enjoy weekends hard to say no to things
but also hard to get back on wagon!
@hollyblueivy love ur self care ritual u did. I quite fancy making time for that one night soon

todays plan is
yoghurt fruit
hummus veg
home made chicken curry
apple snack
no work out prob hardly any steps but 1000 cals
