I've over indulged this weekend - no fruit or veg and feeling bloated and heavy. Will see out the bank holiday weekend and weigh early next week - getting back on track.

Need to work on getting to goal to focus on maintenance.

Hope your weekends are going well.

Ending on 1100 today. With a good workout and a lot of steps

average this week is 1400 so suspect I won’t have lost
need to really reign in this weekend and try aim for 1-2 off this week . I think I need 1300 average to loose with excercise but let’s see!

Bubbles44 · 22/11/2024 06:53

Good luck today @Smartmove sounds like another great week. Well done. Hope it goes well!
Everyone else weighing?
Im not, was out last not and had some treats. Haven’t got too much on this weekend and should get back out running which I’ve really missed!

Smartmove · 22/11/2024 07:02

Surprise today
10.1 :)

one to go I’m going to do it this week. I’m out today and tmrw though
think the excercise is helping

Bubbles44 · 22/11/2024 07:06

Amazing @Smartmove well done! Consistently and exercise! Are you feeling good? Can you feel it in your clothes?

Smartmove · 22/11/2024 07:33

Yes everything fits :) and I’ve had to buy new work trousers and I can actually go shopping and not think everything looks dreadful!

issue is my tummy post 2 kids still flabby so most my clothes still fit but just looser. I just want this last pound off and then tone and maintain. My thighs r also quite large think I’m just that shape so will have to embrace some of my curves!

Everythingaches · 22/11/2024 08:00

Well done!

hollyblueivy · 22/11/2024 08:49

Well done @Smartmove You have absolutely smashed this second part of the year! Especially at a time when the weather makes it much harder! So just one more pound to go. Is 10 stone your final target to then maintain? That's fab!

@Bubbles44 You're doing really well too and have kept up your running much later than I would have done for this time of the year!

I'm 11:0:5 today. Aim for next Friday will be somewhere in the 10's - anywhere as long as it starts with a 10!!!!!!!

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 22/11/2024 10:28

Yes such an achievement. Especially this time of the year! Enjoy!
well done @hollyblueivy have you got a busy weekend?
how’s yours looking @Everythingaches ?

my goal is just being in the 9’s, not too bothered going too low just want to stay roughly where I am but fix my all or nothing attitude. I think if I just didn’t care, things can easily spiral this time of year! So lots of long fasts, back to running next week and accept ill have a bit of chocolate along the way!

Smartmove · 22/11/2024 10:46

I think my body was 10.3-10.7 for most of summer and the recent change in excercise and eating a bit more (weirdly) has just pushed it down. I really think that excercise has helped and also weighing once a week - I’m always worried Tuesday to Thursday I’ll have a gain I’m always very good those days! When I used to weigh and see an up or down I would eat lots more or lots less and it was just too much yo yo. I’m also much happier without the scales every day.

@hollyblueivy well done ur nearly back in the ten! How is ur weekend looking? Yes I think so my bmi will be 22.5 so will have 10-10.3 as my range to maintain. Problem is Xmas around corner really :/ that’s stressing me out! I’ve done some reading about mindful eating and hoping I can get some habits embedded for that tricky time. Also not sure how I’ll gym over Xmas period! I’m at mums for a week and she gets so much food and drink!

I did think I should lower it a bit more but DH said I should stop 😂 and actually my clothes fit and I’m healthy. Hoping excercise will tone me up a bit? But I still don’t see a slim person in the mirror…

Smartmove · 22/11/2024 11:06

@Bubbles44 ur doing fab keeping ur weight at 10 and below - will u just always do OMAD in week? I literally can’t handle being hungry so I’m in awe u do that every week!

wonder where @Serialcatmum went? Are u there!

Everythingaches · 22/11/2024 21:50

I wonder if you could all help me. I have this strange thing that goes on in my brain where my brain seems to tell me that losing weight and doing well is unfamiliar and staying the weight I am and identifying as someone who struggles with weight loss is what I’m familiar with and therefore it feels safer to stay as I am.
it’s really hard to hard explain and I don’t know what to do about it.
I know exactly what to do, what I should be eating, how to intermittently fast.
im happy, not stressed, sleep well, exercise loads and enjoy it, everything else is good but my brain is playing this weird trick on me.

Everythingaches · 23/11/2024 15:38

Also be interested to know what you are all eating on a typical day?

Smartmove · 23/11/2024 15:46

Hi @Everythingaches sorry you feel like that. I kinda get what you mean in that

I saw some people I’ve not seen in a while and they all commented on my weight loss and I was even called slim?! But when I look in the mirror I don’t see that, I still see a curvy chubby girl though I look a lot better to myself. I think the brain and body take some time to catch up? And we are over critical of ourself

have u always been a bit overweight? Can u reframe ur weight loss not to be about your looks and “big girl” but about doing it to get strong fit and healthy? And then slowly u will begin to fit into the new body ??

so I usually have

skip brekkie or have yoghurt fruit and nuts
salad for lunch - usually including a protein like chicken or prawns . Avacado and lots of salad . Sometimes I’ll have a fresh soup

dinner - lots of salmon and veg. Harrisa tray bakes. Eggs with salmon and veg. Stir fry no noddles?

im not no carb but im on the lower limit of it. I’m adding in more pulses and beans to my salads and dinner to try up fibre. And next week im going for an apple and almonds to push my dinner to a sensible time to eat with kids.

if I over restrict I overeat. But I find it very hard to not over restrict after a lifetime of it and thinking it will help me to loose weight. I’m hoping maintence will help with that?

Smartmove · 24/11/2024 07:56

Eaten fairly large amounts this weekend away . Had 3 drinks yest too followed large choc cake!

back to it today
gym later today prob after lunch a big workout
not sure what im eating

hollyblueivy · 24/11/2024 10:06

@Everythingaches I think I can relate to what your feeling and I wonder if it is to do with self sabotage as described in this article

I don't really calorie count, I just try to fast from after dinner to lunch the next day. Not too strict with it though as I still have coffee with milk!

So on a weekday my routine tends to be two meals only, lunch and dinner. I try to include protein in my meals and bulk out with fruit / veg / salad.

Lunch is often soup, but Heinz do a chunky meat one with either beef lamb or steak and that has a good amount of protein in. I have to have bread with it too though!

Also may have omelette, beans on toast, leftovers from dinner.

Dinner is relatively normal, chicken with Singapore noodles, steak and jacket, roast, all packed with veg / salad.

If I fancy something sweet after dinner I try to opt for dark chocolate.

The weekend absolutely anything can happen. It's when I'll usually consume alcohol and undo all my work from the week before!

Everythingaches · 24/11/2024 10:53

Thank you both

Smartmove · 24/11/2024 17:37

Just eaten a huge amount of choc
i start again tmrw!!!

Bubbles44 · 24/11/2024 19:34

@Smartmove yes I think I’ll always do roughly as i am. It’s the only thing that has ever worked and feel better for it although still definitely have my struggles!

@Everythingaches sorry you feel so trapped with it all. It can be overwhelming. Should be so easy but it’s so hard! I’ve always struggled with diet brain. But then a few years ago I was mid 30’s and started going through early menopause
It was a wake up call and Made me realise nutrition is important for more than weight loss as we age. I struggle with sugar so much but definitely better than I was. I’ve really tried to cut down upf and eat lots of plants. I gave up alcohol too. I’d throw yourself into loads of podcasts. Almost brainwash yourself with the information about food. Really helped me get into a better mindset. Good luck!

Bubbles44 · 24/11/2024 19:37

Mixed weekend. Good day today. Chocolate Friday night and yesterday. Looking forward to a good week of running. Really missed it last week!
is everyone waiting until Friday to weigh? I might sneak in tomorrow to see the latest!

Everythingaches · 24/11/2024 19:37

Thank you, which podcasts would you recommend?

Smartmove · 24/11/2024 19:55

I’m weighing sat next time
I like the Esg fitness podcasts - she’s great for mindset

Everythingaches · 24/11/2024 20:38

Thank u

Smartmove · 25/11/2024 07:25

Let’s go girls
nearly December
what’s everyone’s action plan?
I can’t promise 3 work outs as af arrived and it’s been awful!
but def 2 and will keep cals low!

hollyblueivy · 25/11/2024 07:38

Morning, I had to weigh this morning and no surprise to me that I'm 11:2:5. Need to be super good this week, I need to be back in the 10's!!

I just need to stick to my usual plan as much as possible. Try to keep steps up and get to the gym three times. Struggling to drink water at the moment but will try to get some in.

Next weekend I only have one social and it's not a mad one, so I need to keep it as low key as possible to keep the momentum going.

It's December on Sunday so I want to end this month in the 10's!!
