I've over indulged this weekend - no fruit or veg and feeling bloated and heavy. Will see out the bank holiday weekend and weigh early next week - getting back on track.

Need to work on getting to goal to focus on maintenance.

Hope your weekends are going well.

Yes 2-3 litres!
must not throw in towel!!!!!!

how was ur weigh in or is it tmrw. I’ll weigh tmrw and then go back to weekly. Hoping for 2 off next week really going to scrutise what I eat. I’m so close but so far!!!!

Smartmove · 14/11/2024 16:24

Closing early to get in a long fast at 1000

weigh tmrw then back to weekly
Going to have fish every night next week - I find it the best way for me to drop weight and think I need a shake up! Will do prawns cod and salmon alternating days with lots of veg.
surely I’ll drop next week!

Bubbles44 · 14/11/2024 18:01

Hello @Everythingaches hope your day went well. Have you just started fasting? I’ve found it the only thing that works for me. Are you a black coffee drinker? I do 23 hours fasts Monday - Thursday and the other days vary! Good luck!

@Smartmove so close now! I reckon 10.2 tomorrow. Are you going until you’re 10? I need to get motivated like you, you’re so on it!

Mixed week. Mostly good, although I did have some chocolate last night. Definitely hormone related! Will weigh when I’m more confident it won’t make me sad!

Smartmove · 14/11/2024 18:19

@Bubbles44 yes 10 is my goal then stopping.
I ended up having a friend over and they brought cake so cals ended on 1400

waaaaaaa (least I only had one slice)

10.2 will roll on to next week

Bubbles44 · 14/11/2024 18:27

You never know, it could still be tomorrow!
Nothing more frustrating than a plateau. It’s like your body knows and won’t let go of the weight. Stick with it and it will though.
Then the joy of maintenance and how that works!

Smartmove · 14/11/2024 18:35

Ok so I’ve done a calorie deficit calculator cal and I’m shocked! Now I’m 10.3 and 5.6

To loose one pound a week I need to be on 1100 cals - so no surprise 1300 isn’t working !!!! I kinda dropped weight and didn’t realise that would mean my cals would drop too. I need 1600 to maintain….

this week and last I was on 1300 (but then I did excercise too but they always say not to eat those back).

so next week aim is going to have to be to drop to 1000 consistently the whole week. I can manage that Sunday to Thursday as no plans…but then busy next sat with an afternoon tea!!!

that’s though going…..I find 1300 is quite good and I suspect I will drop eventually on that but it’s too slow for me

bloddy cake at 6pm for no reason is not helpful!

hollyblueivy · 14/11/2024 20:54

I've messed up a bit today too. Just been really hungry and have into it.

I will weigh tomorrow but don't think it will be a good one.

I will keep going though, that's all I can do.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 15/11/2024 07:04

@Bubbles44 you were right

10.2 :)))

aim 10.1 next week: difficult weekend coming up though so be only just achievable

hollyblueivy · 15/11/2024 07:33

So glad you've seen that drop @Smartmove. Great awareness around how to approach your calories too. You're so close now.

11:1:00 for me. 155lb exactly. Good points are that I have lost a pound this week and choices have been better than last week so I'm moving towards my usual habits. Bad points that I didn't get to the gym as much as I'd have liked and made a few poor choices along the way.

This is pretty much the last weekend with no plans before something or another on the lead up to Christmas. I need to do my best this weekend and then remain laser focussed during the week to account for whatever may be going on during weekends.

I want to see 2lb off next week to get back into the 10's!! Aim - 10:13:00 (153lb)

@Everythingaches We are trying to weigh weekly on a Friday but @Bubbles44 sometimes weighs on a Wednesday and we all occasionally step on the scales in between. I used to daily weigh but I've realised it wasn't healthy for me so 2-3 times is much better than it was.

OP posts:
Everythingaches · 15/11/2024 07:43

146 today but has been TOTM so it’s fluctuated across the week.

Bubbles44 · 15/11/2024 09:55

wow that’s amazing @Smartmove well done! So happy you got there, goes to show, a good weekend can get us to our goals! Definitely motivated me this weekend!
well done on your loss @hollyblueivy next week will be another great week!
I didn’t weigh. Didn’t want to feel sad. Been for an early run! It will be a good weekend!

Smartmove · 15/11/2024 11:30

Yes I’ve realised the scales govern us so much! And it’s not good. This week I was upset I didn’t drop but didn’t look at

  • I went to gym 3 times and did good workouts
  • I ate fairly healthy. Yes I had some choc and cake but only normal sizes not binge sizes
  • i ate ok over the weekend rather than letting loose
  • my new habit of a herbal tea after dinner is working well to stop me snacking.
then today I’m super happy scales moved. When really that doesn’t change the above!

back to weighing once a week for me
@Bubbles44 once we hit lower weights I’ve realised the weekends actually are the key. U can’t drop unless those are water tight - I used to manage to drop without that but now it really needs to be a daily habit or thinking and being mindful and never fully going. I’ll eat that whole cake 😂

Smartmove · 15/11/2024 11:32

@hollyblueivy well done for your drop. A pound is a pound in right direction :)
keep reminding urself Xmas around corner so this is ur last push really before it all begins (and we all gain a few pounds!)

@Everythingaches af makes it all so much harder! Well done for a drop again. Hope fasting going well! What sort of things do u eat ? Any tips / habits u have u can share with us!

Bubbles44 · 15/11/2024 14:13

Yes, i totally agree weekends are the key to get the loss. I really need to work on this. My problem is I’m so restrictive in the week usually, no upf etc I end up having too much on the weekend to make up for it. Need to break the cycle.

planning on a good weekend. The key is, if I have one bad thing don’t then have 100. Maybe check in weight Sunday or Monday!

hollyblueivy · 15/11/2024 22:44

Good day, gym, lunch and dinner with no pudding or alcohol.

Friday done ✔️

OP posts:
Smartmove · 16/11/2024 07:26

Fab @hollyblueivy take a day at a time!
@Bubbles44 hope today ok. Have u thought about easing up on restriction in week? I’m wondering if my 150 cals a day on choc is helping

yest wasnt great
brunch with friend - ate the toast
salmon veg dinner
half bottle wine. Doritos !!

Smartmove · 16/11/2024 07:26

Did a good workout though!

hollyblueivy · 16/11/2024 22:46

All my food has been out today, no alcohol though and 11k steps.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 17/11/2024 07:19

Yest was a write off
guests over - lots of crusty bread Prosecco and cheesecake consumed

back on it today. Not sure I’ll make 10.1 on Friday but no weighing before!

Bubbles44 · 17/11/2024 07:33

Mixed here.Mainly good but have allowed a bit of chocolate but not gone crazy! Feeling on it today!

hollyblueivy · 17/11/2024 09:18

Gosh I feel so bloated today and really look more plump.

Realistic plan today will be a roast with pudding and one alcoholic drink. I will have to eat something before the roast but not sure what yet.

Looking forward to Monday to have another fresh start for the week and hopefully do better than last.

OP posts:
Everythingaches · 17/11/2024 11:08

I’ve made a new rule for myself. No evening snacking at all. That’s my downfall. After dinner the biscuits and chocolate come out and I need to not have any. I can’t have just one, once I start I can’t stop.
if I can lose half a stone by Christmas I will be 9st 13, that feels doable.

Smartmove · 17/11/2024 16:44

@Everythingaches im with u! I’ve started buying myself nice herbal teas and as soon as dunno done I make one and sip that and slowly hoping that totally replaces my need for anything else !

went for a roast. Ate it all. No sugar today but about the only win

i I go again tmrw! Excercise for this week will be

wed
thursday
Sunday

Everythingaches · 17/11/2024 16:46

That’s a good idea or maybe a low cal hot chocolate.
I’ve had PT session today for an hour which was hard and walked the dog for 45 minutes. Love this cold weather.

Bubbles44 · 17/11/2024 20:01

Mixed weekend but really good today. Nice long run and healthy food. Need to continue all week. Feeling more positive. Might start daily weighing to get back on track and it seems to work best for me.
How’s the fasting going @Everythingaches when I first started I found the only proper rule I had was sticking to my window. Helped cut the snacking at night and gradually get stricter with food. I also love gin Stephens intermittent fasting stories podcast. Found it really helpful.
Hope you’ve had a better day @hollyblueivy hand a good week ahead. and @Smartmove back to it tomorrow.
