New thread 🧵

@Smartmove

I've over indulged this weekend - no fruit or veg and feeling bloated and heavy. Will see out the bank holiday weekend and weigh early next week - getting back on track.

Need to work on getting to goal to focus on maintenance.

Hope your weekends are going well.

@hollyblueivy its just to make me accountable / get me in the exercise frame / show me what to do for resistance training. I’m thinking I’ll stop over summer as it’s exp and also hard to make times work when the kids will be home . But I’m hoping I can continue fwith what I’ve learnt from her…not sure yet!

for now I think it’s helping coz I’ve never had so comments about my weight so maybe I’ve already started toning down? Plus o think being 10.5 is a better look for me!

Smartmove · 30/05/2024 15:56

Ending today at 1170 - a bit extra but carbs low and did my PT and still a deficit. Fine lower than that very hard these days! Hopefully a drop tmrw but may not be coz of DOMS from today! Report in am

@hollyblueivy well done on drop!

Smartmove · 31/05/2024 07:29

10.7. Happy with that. Love to be 10.6 tmrw and then back to 10.5 for Monday and then

get to goal!!!

hollyblueivy · 31/05/2024 09:40

Keep going @Smartmove you're on a roll and sound determined. Do you have a quiet weekend planned or can you control your food?

10:11:9 today - been jumping around this week as expected. From now until Monday there will be lots of food and drinks my end so will try to make better choices where I can and be mindful.

Will be ready to crack on Monday with a fresh week and fresh start.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 31/05/2024 13:17

@hollyblueivy im out tmrw. Will be dinner and drinks. No pudding and not many drinks…(maybe 2 glasses) and will
do a huge workout tmrw

sunday Monday no plans

then my kids r back to school so I think 10.5 is achievable for Monday as long as I drop tmrw and don’t go crazy on sat!

Smartmove · 31/05/2024 19:50

Ending on 1350 and low carbs. No excercise but will hit it tmrw. Unsure if ill drop tmrw but I hope I will!

Bubbles44 · 31/05/2024 20:43

Great @Smartmove going in the right direction fast. Enjoy your meal tomorrow.
Enjoy your weekend plans @hollyblueivy. Soon be back in routine.
All ok here. Overindulged as expected but feel I’ve tried a bit of everything so I’ll get into routine with it now. Will go for a run tomorrow and try and fast ideally until dinner but we’ll see.

Smartmove · 01/06/2024 07:24

10.6.4
expecting a gain tmrw as out tonight.
but st back on. May not make 10.5 on Monday but I will soon!

today big excercise session.
eggs smoked salmon
chicken sausages and veg
dinner out!

hollyblueivy · 01/06/2024 08:08

Well done on your consistent effort and progress @Smartmove you are getting there.

I haven't weighed yet but had I'm expecting a gain today and feel bloated.

I'm really having a battle in my head about today and tomorrow and what my priorities are. I usually submit to alcohol without much of a second thought for weekend socials, but today I'm thinking do I really want to drink? Will it make me eat more and then weigh even heavier tomorrow? Will it make me feel bloated and hungover? (Doesn't take much these days.) Will it affect my ability to try to squeeze a Sunday workout in?

Now I'm not saying that I absolutely won't drink today, I probably will. BUT for me to be thinking and being mindful is a good step and maybe the next time I will choose not to drink. For today, I'm most likely to try to swerve beer/wine and go for a spirit and mixer, keeping the servings small.

10:12:6 today

Would be happy if I can stay below 11 stone by Monday morning then Monday to Friday next week will be a reset week to see what I can get to by the Friday then trying to chip away at a pound per week to get weight down further.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 01/06/2024 09:32

@hollyblueivy i know it’s a constant mental battle.

at the end of the day I’ve realised if I do have the wine or pudding my scales will go up. And it’s whether I want to see them go down enough for me to avoid them? And if the event is worth it…..so tonight I’m happy to accept it going up as it’s a very rare date night with DH. then the key is getting at back on. So tmrw I won’t be hungover as I really don’t want that and I’ll stick to plan.

you just have decide what you want more today and tmrw. It’s not wrong to go for the drinks if that’s what you want. But accepting the weight will go up…it’s really all very hard!

off to do my workout. Ended up having some low carb bread with my eggs and smoked salmon!

I really want to be 10.3 soon!

Serialcatmum · 01/06/2024 11:04

Hi all…

fellow faster here.. is it a private thread or can anyone jump on???

I’ve got a lot to lose. Real yo yo dieter. Thai shows in my weight loss/ gain.

I’ve been fasting during the day for a few years and really upped my game in April and lost 2 stone on 2 months.

I tend to do long fast during the week (20 hours) and then ease up at weekends. Currently doing a VLCD mon- Thurs and then 1600 cals Fri- mon.

Smartmove · 01/06/2024 12:38

@Serialcatmum absolutely not private! Please hop on :)

wonderful news re 2 stone well done!

how many cals do you do in the week? What sort of things are u eating.

I’ve done my workout and about to have my lunch

hollyblueivy · 01/06/2024 14:59

Hi @Serialcatmum you're more than welcome here, well done on your recent loss, that's a flying start!

How often do you weigh?

Do you just have one meal a day on the long fast days? Is VLCD very low calorie day?

I tend to weigh daily but from Monday I am going to try for every other day and see if I can build up to once or twice per week only.

I mostly have two meals during the week, lunch and dinner. Weekends are the real challenge and a work in progress!

OP posts:
Serialcatmum · 01/06/2024 15:42

Thanks @hollyblueivy and @Smartmove!

I have 800 cals mon/ Tues/ wed/ Thur and then up them for the weekends.

I drink lots during the day- including a cheeky can of pop! And then go for one bigger meal with some little treats before bed.

I like to go for bulk low calories meals so I’ll have 5% spag bol really filled out with celery/ mushrooms/ peppers and carrots and then tend to have the very low cal/ fat free rice and noodles with is with the extra stuff I need like spinach/ cheese. I also love love love mushrooms, salad and broccoli.

As I originally followed the Fast800 plan I tend to have extra olive oil and additional fats to ensure I’m getting my goodness in too!

I have always exercised loads and have recently started to have additional protein powder but I don’t really have the cals during the week so I end up waiting for the weekends for it.

I only weigh myself every 4 weeks and I’m not strict about it- if I want to weigh myself I will but if I don’t feel up for it I wait till I am. I don’t find weighing myself a fun experience and it doesn’t motivate me…

I know you already know each other- but what’s your story???

Smartmove · 01/06/2024 15:56

@Serialcatmum I’ve always spent most of my adult life yo yo dieting and roughly a bmi 25 throughout my adult life - I like eating and drinking !!!

After 2 kids and putting on weight with my second (not so much with first) and approaching 40 I decided to sort myself out! My youngest is now 2…

I lost the first stone quite quickly doing fast 800 like you…Then the last stone I’ve lost over the year (well 15 pounds to be exact since this time last year). I’ve had a lot of holidays / weekends away / celebrations in that time and I can put on bloat quite quickly. So it’s been slow. Tbh it’s this last half a stone which is snail pace.

im 3.4 pounds away from my goal of 10.3 which is bmi 23 (originally was aiming 10.8 but changed my mind!) I’ve upped my excercise and hoping toning will help . I suspect I’ll try cruise at 10.3 for a while and then maybe try drop again in sept/oct. I def don’t feel slim still but I’m feeling much better . For now I’ll stop at 10.3 .

I do fast 800 and usually on 1200 all week and one day a week off for socialising. I love sweet stuff! I eat a lot of eggs salmon avacado and veg!

I weigh daily but am going to stop that once I’m back at 10.5

im out tonight so expecting some bloat tmrw but back on track then!

Serialcatmum · 01/06/2024 16:15

Ahh it’s so great to chat with someone that isn’t judgy about the fasting/ low Claire’s during the week!!!

I have much more weight to lose than you (technically 4.5 stone!) but I’d be really happy to maintain with 2 stone off. I know that’s still really overweight but I’ve always had a bmi of well over 35 and I just want to be a bit more comfortable. My lightest ever weight was about 2.5 stone lighter than I am now but that was short lived and linked to a time I was really ill so hardly counts!!!

Serialcatmum · 01/06/2024 16:17

I’ve just had 4 days off for a holiday and it felt good to get back in the swing of things.

Have any of you ever tried the longer fasts? I have read some great things about the 48/ 72 hours fasts but then read some conflicting reports about the affect in the heart!!!!!

hollyblueivy · 01/06/2024 23:08

My general story is that I feel like I've pretty much spent my life on one diet or another from teenage years. Never being super overweight but always in need of losing a bit and never quite getting there.

40's hit and wanted to sort my shit out. Started around 12 and a half stone, probably my heaviest. Lost nearly 2 stone but put a little on and now around just under 11 stone wanting at least another half a stone off but like @Smartmove this last half stone has been the hardest yet.

I work out at least 3x per week - mostly gym but sometimes run.

Eat two meals generally from 12-7pm give or take half an hour or so.

Tend to save treats and alcohol for the weekend and often find I overdo it and undo the good work from the week before.

That's it in a nutshell. This thread has been a great help to reflect and stay focused and give me some accountability. I hope you find the same too.

Smartmove · 02/06/2024 07:38

I’m on 10.7.6 after last night. Had a good time. I had 3 drinks not 2! But they were 125mls of wine so not too bad

@Bubbles44 hope ur having a fab holiday
@hollyblueivy did u have the spirits and mixers ?

gonna throw in some 950cal days in now to get this weight down

hollyblueivy · 02/06/2024 08:12

Morning, glad you had a good evening and maintained decent control.

10:12:6 today which is a maintain on yesterday and I'll take it as a win. Stuck to spirit and kept food intake sensible.

Last day today before back on it fully tomorrow so wonder if there will be a mini final blow out but will see how the day goes. Either way reset tomorrow.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 02/06/2024 08:17

thats great @hollyblueivy a maintain at the weekend is always a win!

todays plan
wondering if can skip brekkie as ate late yest and so just have 2 meals but I usually struggle. But I’m going to try push through.

chicken sausages a loads of veg

chicken fajitas but without the wraps! Lots of fresh guacamole on side

will be 850 cals . Hoping 2 days of that will see me back at 10.5!

Bubbles44 · 02/06/2024 10:00

Hello, hope everyone is having a great weekend - the hard part of being on track. Sounds like good mindsets all round which is good. Having the best holiday. So nice to be away. Hmm mixed here. 2 runs done. Was having a good day yesterday fasted until 6pm but then had so many deserts. Honestly feel hungover from sugar today. Hopefully lesson learnt and I’ll be mindful today. Dread what I’d be if I weighed today but. Next weigh in is this time next week.

Bubbles44 · 02/06/2024 10:06

Hello @Serialcatmum I’m quite new here too. wow sounds like you’re having great success. Amazing. I’ve been fasting for 3.5 years. Before that I yo-yo dieted. Losing and gaining the same stone. I was 11.8 when I started fasting. Got to 10 st in 6 months with relative ease to my amazement as had never been that low. Now trying to get to 9.7. 9.9 a couple of days ago. On holiday at the moment so definitely not 9.9 now! I do roughly 4 24 hour fasts a week. Never done longer than 28 hours. Probably never will as I just enjoy my eating window too much. Do you list to gin Stephens? Her podcasts are fab! Fasting, for me is such a game changer. I imagine I’ll be doing it forever!

Smartmove · 02/06/2024 13:40

@Bubbles44 ur on holiday. I always think even at home in my routine it’s though once ur away or out of routine it’s so much harder
try enjoy but be mindful!

talking of which…I’ve had half a bar or dark choc…and a mini magnum. If I keep dinner small still on 1300 and high carbs. Ugh! But going to gym now to try work some of it off!
