FastingPhilly · 27/03/2024 10:19

Right so I got down to 13 stone 3 last year, and now am 14 stone 5. So annoyed with myself.

I am away on a holiday 24th April and want to lose a stone in 4 weeks through Fast800. I know I can do it but need that kick up the bum to start.

So am going to weigh in and post everyday for 4 weeks.

CW: 14 stone 5
GW: 13stone 5

Today I will have -
Black coffee x 2
1 cup of Bovril - 22 calories
1 Babybel - 50 calories
1:30pm - 2 eggs 2 slices bacon = 240 calories
Prawn curry, cauliflower rice, green bean, broccoli and cauli = 500 calories

And we're off!

How's everyone doing?

Been out of action recently due to 3 job interviews, one dissertation deadline and loads of life crap. Exhausting!

SW: 11st 5
GW: 10st
Target for end of April - 11st

I made it to 11 stone on 31st April which was my target weight for last month so despite some stressful points in April when i cracked and ate cake, I did lose 5 lbs so I'm pleased about that. Losing weight at 49 is really hard.

My masters course finishes at the end of this month and it's so full on I'm thinking I'll only be able to lose about another 5 lbs if I'm lucky, but come June I'll be able to start exercising as I'll have some actual free time.

I would love to get to 10 and a half stone by the end of June if possible to make it manageable to get to 10 by mid-July when I turn 50. Fingers crossed!!

HurryupHenry · 04/05/2024 09:28

@Netcam sorry just saw your reply! Well done on hitting 8 and half!

@Resisterance sounds really stressful.

I feel like I’m back in a more positive mindset regarding diet and exercise. I had a couple of months where I continued to go to the gym but wasn’t enjoying it. Now I’m back to enjoying it which is massively helpful.

Thanks, although I was 8st 8 this morning! Had a big glass of wine last night and ice cream and pizza the night before. Back to being sensible for the rest of the weekend and next week. Off to see a friend today after my porridge with apple and cinammon for breakfast and we're going for a long walk. Well done for getting back to the positive mindset, it's so easy to get sidetracked and put it all back on again. I just accept myself if I've fallen off the wagon for a day or two and get back on it.

Alainlechat · 04/05/2024 10:39

I'm still ploughing on.

SW 13:2
CW 12:2.8

Aiming to be 12:2 by next weekend for my work trip to Spain. I have a few social events to navigate before that though so need to be careful.

Once back from Spain the plan is to carry on to around 11:4, which puts me in the healthy BMI range. Next target date is July 14th for that.

Carrying on with the FAST 800 until end of May then will switch to intermittent fasting and calories counting.

Have to say the weight loss has been quite quick following the fast 800.

Hope everyone is doing well xx

HurryupHenry · 04/05/2024 13:17

I just tried on a few different outfits to wear to an event tonight and look so awful in most of them. I really am fed up with my tummy.

My PT was cross that I had lost too much weight when we weighed yesterday. I did ask how it could be too much if I don’t look any different.
She put me on a diet plan which I tried but end up putting on weight. I haven’t told her that I’m doing fast 800.

Alainlechat · 04/05/2024 13:57

@HurryupHenry 9st sounds super slim to me, I'm only aiming for a bmi of 24 just over 11 stone but stronger and fitter with it.

My stomach is also my problem area but I seem have have got rid of a decent amount of the top half of it, above my belly button so far 😁

HurryupHenry · 06/05/2024 08:32

@Alainlechat for me it’s bigger than I’m used to. Maybe if it wasn’t for the tummy I could embrace it. How did you manage to get rid of the top half? (Bizarre picture in my head 😂).

6kg to go until I reach my first goal. I need to up my steps and concentrate on my protein.

Netcam · 06/05/2024 09:12

My tummy is a problem too, it's always stuck out a bit, was worse after I had children and even worse after menopause. Anyway, back down to 8st 7 this morning after my pizza, wine and ice cream binge at the end of last week. Now on my final mission to get to 8 stone and stay there. I've made it this far from 9 1/2 stone so feeling pleased. I'm 5'3 with a small frame and still feel I have a lot of fat on me at 8 1/2 stone and am hoping to get my chloresterol (last test was 5.7), hb1ac (last test 41) and blood pressure (hovers around high normal) down, which are all on the borderline of being a concern and tests were done when I was 9 stone.

Netcam · 06/05/2024 09:16

@Resisterance, well done for doing a masters degree in your late 40s, I did one in my early 40s and it was hard work while parenting and working. I can imagine it is hard to focus on eating well when you are really busy. What are you studying?

HurryupHenry · 06/05/2024 10:15

@Netcam I’m an inch shorter than you but we have the same goal weight. Well done on how you have done so far!
My tummy did go after dc, it’s medication and possible peri menopause that’s done it I think.

Hi @Netcam & @HurryupHenry. I'm new to this thread (is it ok to join?). I just wondered if you'd mind sharing what you typically eat to lose weight? Or any other tips for a fellow shortie with not much to lose?

I'm 5ft2 and currently 8 stone 5. I don't carry extra weight well and could do with losing 7-10 pounds. However, I'm just not managing to lose anything! I'm tracking my calories and eating between 1000 and 1200 each day. I don't think it seems healthy to go any lower!

Netcam · 06/05/2024 11:50

@Cherryblossom81, yes, please join us.

Typical meals:

Breakfast: usually natural kefir with almonds, sometimes porridge with skimmed milk or a boiled egg. Plus decaf latte with skimmed milk and a grapefruit or orange. I've switched from semi skimmed to skimmed milk and given up granola or muesli.

Lunch: I make salad every day with avocado, cucumber, tomato (plus something like celery fennel or red pepper), olive oil and ACV. I've recently started adding raw sauerkraut. I add a little protein like pine nuts, pecans, hummus or occasionally a little soft goats cheese or jarlsberg. I usually have an apple or some other fruit as well. I hardly ever have bread with lunch anymore, which I used to, and have massively cut down on cheese.

Dinner: It varies, but whatever we have I tend to avoid the pasta/rice/bread/potatoes etc that DH and DS2 have, or occasionally have a tiny portion. We only have meat once a week, often bolognase made with lean steak mince, which I just pour over a load of steamed veg. We also eat a lot of bean/lentil dishes, which I just have with veg. Or with baked fish DH and DS2 might have potatoes and veg, I just have the veg.

Treats: Small (90ml) glass of red wine once every 2 weeks, a couple of squares of 85% chocolate or a couple of oat cakes most days in the afternoon. Trying to cut these down!

Exercise: 30 mins on rebounder 4 mornings a week before work. Half an hour walk at lunchtime. Often one longer walk (a couple of hours with a friend) on Saturdays.

VerlynWebbe · 07/05/2024 18:01

I was here at the start then I injured myself! So no exercising for weeks. But I am back, doing a bit of yoga, a bit of pilates, some weights, and a daily walk. I have lost a couple of pounds but that's since the start of April so.

Anyway. Deep breath. I'm really overweight but I'm 5'10" so it kind of has somewhere to go. It still shouldn't be there though!

I'm going to say starting weight yesterday 241.2 lbs
Today I'm 240.5 lbs
Goal weight, oh god, a long way to go. First goal is 236 by next Monday, to see if it can be done!

I've got a big holiday coming up at the end of the year, not to mention all sorts of nice summer things planned, and I cannot be galumphing about like this.

Alainlechat · 08/05/2024 07:10

@VerlynWebbe welcome back and welcome to @Cherryblossom81 too!

A positive update from me, I reached my interim goal of 12:2 from a starting weight on this thread after Easter of 13:2.

I am carrying on to get to my target around 11:4 and into the healthy BMI range.

I've been following the fast 800 and will carry on to the end of May which will be 12 weeks.

What has really helped is accepting on certain days I will go over such as Easter and family birthdays when the weight/water weight goes on. It does come off quite quickly though.

Aiming to be at my goal weight in 9 weeks ready for a 10k run in London. On week 7 of coach to 10k.

Good luck to everyone x

Netcam · 08/05/2024 07:14

Update, 8 stone 6 today! I broke the 8 1/2 stone barrier. Down from 9 1/2 stone about 6 months ago, it's been gradual, with some plateaus, but I'm getting there slowly. Just maybe 8 stone is an achievable goal.

Cherryblossom81 · 08/05/2024 10:56

Thanks @Netcam for the reply about what you typically eat. It's helpful hearing from someone who is the same weight as me, but wanting to lose a few pounds.

It's hard being short, isn't it? I'm struggling to know what else I can do to shift these few pounds but also aware that it will be slow, so trying not to be discouraged.

VerlynWebbe · 08/05/2024 11:53

Well, no change from yesterday (fuck the menopause!)

VerlynWebbe · 09/05/2024 09:09

And then today, down nearly 2 lbs to 238.6. Which is pretty wonderful! Not all of that is water, surely?

MrJollyLivesNextDoor · 27/05/2024 18:31

Anyone still around? How are you all?

I dropped off the grid for a bit, horrendous lower back pain resulting in lack of treadmill action (it possibly might have helped but I was so busy and tired and didn't want to risk making it worse at that time), a champagne fuelled long weekend in London followed by work being absolutely crazy and now only 2 days left of last minute Majorcan week away so I will be back to it properly when I get back at the end of the week.

Interesting that on day 2 of holiday my back got remarkably better and has remained so. Posture/chair review at work required I think.

Anyway

Will be back to 1000 calories a day
Back on treadmill walking as much as possible
Cut down on wine 😳😆

FastingPhilly · 18/06/2024 22:50

Well hellooooo! I hope everyone is fine a dandy. I was so pleased to have lost that weight for my holiday. Made everything that bit easier. How is everyone doing?

So here I am again 😁I have an occasion in 3 weeks time that I am aiming to lose a bit for again! 10lbs would be great, but we will see.

So I am going to 1000 cals a day for 3 weeks to see how I go. I will once again write down my food every day.

All welcome as always!
