@Bubbles44 how many hours do you generally have as an eating window per day? Will you just have the one meal tomorrow? I'd love to be able to increase my fasting window. Not that I clean fast as I have milk in coffee. (And sugar!)

Today lunch was sweet treats in the office, not good. Just had soup for dinner to try to counteract.

No exercise and 6k steps.

Better day tomorrow and definitely exercise.

@hollyblueivy on work days I just have 1.5/2 hour eating window. I don’t take food to work with me so just not an option to eat, I struggle to fast that long when I’m at home though. Tomorrow I’ll have bowl of fruit/nuts/seeds, small salad, dark chocolate and Greek yogurt.
Fri/sat/sun I have a bit longer eating window depending on plans.
Would you ever consider the clean fast? Gin seems to think it can make the difference. I really struggled at first without my tea in the morning. But now I just love/ look forward to my black coffee.

Bubbles44 · 14/05/2024 06:36

9.11. Need to keep it going now and get below 9.10. Was looking back and before Christmas between oct - dec I was averaging 9.8.

Hope it goes well for everyone today!

Smartmove · 14/05/2024 07:25

10.8 today which is a relief. Hopefully back to 10.5 sometime soon! Then need to keep going to get to 10.3 which is my goal I think.

today plan
chia pudding
eggs
harrisa chicken bake With peppers and chick peas - can’t wait for this!
20 min HIT and 15 mins of resistance training set out by my PT

hollyblueivy · 14/05/2024 07:38

@Bubbles44 I think I would like to try a clean fast to see how I get on and it may be that I'll need to incorporate one decent fast a week to help with the weight loss. I just love food and don't like the feeling of being hungry and also my mind makes me think that the reward isn't worth the effort. I need to try it though to actually see for myself.

Well done on your loss, I looked back to the end of last year and around 10:8:5 was my average give or take a pound. Hopefully once I can get to 10:10:00, I can chip away half a pound to a pound per week. Can't believe we will be half way through the year and I haven't really made any progress with my weight! What a faff.

@Smartmove I bet that was great to see on the scale this morning! Sounds like you have a good plan of action for the day.

I was 10:11:5 this morning. Should be able to have a good day.

@hollyblueivy I think with the clean fast gin saying it’s easier to fast as not having a splash of milk means yours insulin doesn’t rise making you hungry. Might be worth giving it a go see if it helps! I know, I felt sad seeing my results from last year and looking at now. Only 3 pounds but just feels like its already may and not at pre Christmas weight!!!

Feels like we are all chipping away this week. Hopefully if we can all stay on plan over the weekend too we can get good results! That said, im so hungry today. 6pm feels a long time to wait!

Hope you’re both having a good day!

Smartmove · 14/05/2024 13:54

Im having a good day
I did my workout and stuck to plan food wise except added some dates and nuts for a cheeky energy boost

will be in at 1050 and low carbs which im pleased with

my excercise session seems to have totally killed my hunger which is a good thing so hoping it’s just dinner at 430/5 and that’s it

@hollyblueivy i know I looked back a few weeks ago and felt same. It spurred me on and got me to 10.5 coz I was a bit fed up with myself! Still feeling it tbh but hoping I’m accelerating with it all. If we were not trying we would all have gained!!!

@Bubbles44 is 9.8 your goal? What date is ur holiday?

im really hoping for 10.7 at least tmrw so i can be 10.5 for the weekend giving me a full week to loose 2 more pounds and enter maintanence - which im scared about!

Smartmove · 14/05/2024 16:42

Had a bit extra dinner and some dark choc
closing 1200. Fingers crossed for a drop tmrw

Bubbles44 · 14/05/2024 18:58

Gosh that was a long day but managed it! Really enjoyed my food tonight. Healthy food and no sugar! Full now!

Holiday is in 2 weeks. All inclusive. Last year wasn’t too bad as ran most days and actually did some long fasts. Hoping I’ll have the same approach this year. Depends how nice the desserts are I guess! Would really like to see 9.7 eventually!

Sounds like a good day @Smartmove . Hope the scale reflects it tomorrow.

@hollyblueivy hope your day has gone to plan!

hollyblueivy · 14/05/2024 19:34

I've eaten quite heavy for both lunch and dinner today. Quite carby.

Did a workout though and have had a good amount of water.

Smartmove · 14/05/2024 19:50

Wow fasting and staying on plan on holiday esp all inclusive that’s amazing. Well done you. If I could do that I would have been at goal already. My weekend trips away and holidays have def been what’s stood in my way (I go away a lot !) I need to relook at that and decide what I want to do to ensure I don’t gain so much in my next trip

report back tmrw …..been good and excercised so hope scales r kind!!

Smartmove · 14/05/2024 19:51

@jelly79 ans @Chunkymonkey123 are you around still!

Bubbles44 · 15/05/2024 06:57

9.11 Today. Run done. Will fast until 4ish.

@Smartmove I think giving up alcohol was a game changer for me. Meant when I stopped eating, my window was closed on hols. Also stopped me having all the rubbish the next day if feeling a bit rough. Also, being a veggie at all inclusive can be tricky! That said, anything can happen! I just don’t want a big gain like at Christmas!

Smartmove · 15/05/2024 07:06

10.7

yes that’s fab. I only drink socially maybe fortnightly and when away so not ready to give that up! Fab u have - empty calories!

fingers crossed I’m 10.5 for Friday

hollyblueivy · 15/05/2024 07:20

Morning well done both you're both having a great week.

I'm same as you @Smartmove I couldn't take that step to fully give up alcohol. I'd say I drink on one day a week, like last week I had half a bottle of wine. Nothing too crazy. I get what @Bubbles44 is saying though about empty calories and the bad choices rolling over to the next day.

Well I knew I'd see a gain after my carb fuelled day yesterday.

10:12:8

Just stepping backwards and forwards and not getting anywhere at the moment!!

OP posts:
hollyblueivy · 15/05/2024 07:21

@jelly79

How's your mindset at the moment, anything we can do to help?

OP posts:
Smartmove · 15/05/2024 07:55

I’m finding 1200 -1300 cals the best level for me. In past when I do lower I end up having off days and raiding the fridge. This seems to keep me loosing and also satisfied if I make good choices

fingers cross for tmrw for us all x

@hollyblueivy yes i can go weeks and not have anything to drink. Then have a few weekends in a row I do . But prob settles out to alternate weeks i never drink mid week . This weekend for example I won’t have anything but away in Cornwall for BH and I prob will then!

Bubbles44 · 15/05/2024 17:05

Good day. Run, fasted until 4. Healthy food, no sugar. Was so hungry again today! Feel like I’m on a good roll at the moment. Regardless of weight, I like the fact I’m not eating sugar. Feel so much better.

Yes, for me I just couldn’t tolerate it as I got older. A glass of wine made me feel horrible the next day. Just felt better not having it. If only it was that easy with chocolate and all things sweet!

Smartmove · 15/05/2024 17:35

Hi girls

hungry day today. Prob coz a few days in and all supplies running short!

puriton shake
chicken and avocado with low carb wrap and side salad.
Had to buy a very processed but low carb keto cereal bar to keep me going and milk in coffee
chicken tray bake for dinner

coming in at 1350 which isn’t ideal but actually better than having a binge like I normally would a few days in. Feeling in control atm . Need to end eating now.

we go again tmrw!

Bubbles44 · 15/05/2024 19:28

Feel so bloated today. Feel like it’s going to go up tomorrow. Even though I’m so on it! See what tomorrow holds!

hollyblueivy · 15/05/2024 20:26

@Smartmove that's great that you're staying in control. I feel the opposite today and yesterday. Bit of mindless eating silly things like sweets and biscuits, the kind of things I'd normally wait to have on the weekend. Not sure what's going on.

I did have a short run so 2 out of 3 exercises this week completed. About the only positive at the moment.

OP posts:
Bubbles44 · 16/05/2024 06:40

9.10! I’ve been 9.10 only once this year and it was a my birthday weekend. So went straight back up after weekend away. Fast until 5 today!

@hollyblueivy you’re still checking in and not gaining so it will click again soon. How is your weekend looking?

@Smartmove hope you’re getting closer to 10.5 today!

Feeling good that it’s Friday tomorrow and I have no plans!

hollyblueivy · 16/05/2024 07:28

@Bubbles44 that's fab! What do you think has been the driver to get back down to your lowest weight so far this year? ..... aside from the thread obviously!

Hope @jelly79 is getting on ok.

I'm 10:12:3 so slight drop on yesterday but clearly won't be 10:10:00 tomorrow.

I need to not flick the f it switch and keep going.

Rest day today and I'll do a decent gym session tomorrow to hopefully keep me on track tomorrow evening.

No real plans although will likely find something to do. Will just have to keep a mindful watch on food and drink intake. Shouldn't be anything too mental though.

What about you ladies? Having no plans is helpful when you want to prioritise weight loss.

OP posts:
Smartmove · 16/05/2024 07:38

Yay @Bubbles44 thats fab news! Your persistence has paid off!!!! Well done you :) I bet u feel fab.

@hollyblueivy agree your checking in and not gaining lots. The switch will flick but i don’t know how u get it flicked! Sometimes it just happens

am 10.6 today. Hoping for 10.5 in day or 2 which is also lowest weight in 14 years for me and I don’t have any plans this weekend so means can stay on track and hope to get to 10.4 minimum if not 10.3 for next sat when I leave . But will have to stay to 1200 I think to do that…

good thing is a self catering trip so I can stick to plan - it’s the hotel brekkies and the dinners at restaurants which get me when away! But I’ll do a healthy shop and stick to plan 80 percent of the time there (will prob relax over dinner it’s a trip away after all!)

report back tmrw

Smartmove · 16/05/2024 07:39

Trip is next weekend though need to get through this week first food today

chia pudding
feta salad
cod and veg
