I’ve done this before during lockdown and got down to a decent weight but slowly gone back up. I keep starting and then doing well and then self sabtogage and gain it all. It’s such a problem. So I’m taking it 1 week at a time. And writing on here to keep me on straight and narrow

day 1
weight 11.6 . Bmi 25.5
goal weight 10.8

this is post 4 days of self sabotage so should come off very quickly I was 11.1 4 days ago so should be water. And then will start slowing down

today plan
brocolli and Stilton soup at 11ish
feta stuffed chicken with a side salad of leaves and avacado at 4ish

I can do this. I usually eat 3 small meals but I ate so much last night I’m not hungry!

I have an event in 5 weeks and would love to lose half a stone
Im 5’2 and 10 stone exactly which is really heavy for me and BMI in overweight category.
Ideally I’d like to be 9 stone but would even love to get to 9’6 in 5 weeks.
Im going to try 16:8 and drastically reduce carbs too.
Going to go to shops for salad / cottage cheese etc tomorrow
I cooked the family dinner tonight spaghetti meatballs and garlic bread.
I just had a few meatballs and tomato sauce. No pasta.
I will weigh in weekly I think.

@Smartmove yes i am weighing the protein granola I’ve been having for breakfast and the yoghurt. Some things are guesstimated as it’s impossible to weigh everything. My fitness pal is quite easy as some things you can just scan the bar code. Probably haven’t drunk as much water past few days - will try and up my intake again.
feeling a bit hormonal and have a fair bit going on which I’m sure isn’t helping.

thanks for replying. Was really hoping to get to 9st7 for my holiday but unlikely to get anywhere near.

I can lose weight quickly but have to drastically cut out calories but then I gain twice as fast when I relax a little arrggghhh

i had cottage cheese nuts and tomatoes today it was incredibly filling! Will be doing that more often. Half a stone in 5 weeks is totally doable

@FijiSea welcome along. I’m very similar height and weight to you and also classed as “overweight” in terms of my BMI. My ideal weight is 9st - managed to get to this weight last summer but basically had to cut calories massively to get there and it all went back on again

@RM2013 i hear you. I feel the same! It’s so hard
i do weigh eveything but I get a bit obsessive when I do this tbh! So I weigh my tomatoes cottage cheese nuts etc coz I was finding without it was easily having 100-200 extra cals a day which tipped me into not loosing. However saying that surely fasting and eating well should allow us to loose weight without being quite so mad about exact amounts
hope u can get back on tmrw and loose some weight in a few days
hormones make it though xxx

Just rechecked the ready meal
annoyingly it was more cals that I thought not sure how I got that wrong
ended at 1000 and 30g carbs
still fine but really can’t do less can I!

Yes @RM2013 my Ideal is 9 stone - 9stone 2 but last time I was that slim was about 4years ago and I had a lot more willpower back then.
I feel like it’s harder to lose weight now that I’m over 40 too.
I used to just cut the crap , have porridge for breakfast , a light lunch and a normal dinner and the weight would drop off as long as I kept to around 1000 cals a day.
I think my metabolism must have slowed as I’ve been at the same weight for last four weeks even though I feel like I’ve been watching what I eat.
So I think I’ll try the intermittent fasting type ways and see if that can kickstart me a bit.

I’m going to try substitute all bread with either rice cakes or oat cake to help lower the dense gluten carbs based stuff I usually eat.
Im thinking rice cakes with cottage cheese for lunch or oatcakes with Philadelphia lightest and cherry tomatoes etc.

@Smartmove i managed a longer fast today - think I did 18 hours but actually felt ok. I’ve eaten well today - no cravings and plenty of protein. Will weigh in on Friday fingers crossed for a loss

I agree. I buy complete separates now. I usually wear a high waisted black bottoms (next do a nice one, so do matalan) and then I wear a black sports bra (like a big crop top style one, not a bikini top one) and I find that the most flattering combination as it shows my marginally more favourable areas . I would never wear my underwear and parade around confidently in public and I totally admire people who can, but I’m just not comfortable, unless it’s really hot and I can just lie there basking.

I be just bought some high waisted ones. I bought 5 with a hope one suits me!!!!!
I’m hungry today! Must push through planning my meals tmrw I would like to stick to 900 to get me to my mini goal on Sunday but I seem to not manage that little! Don’t know how these people do 800!

I didn’t weigh today as my son woke me up at 510!! And by time I got out our bed prop I had drunk lots of water and coffee. Gonna be a long day.
gonna try fast till 12ish given I had a 9pm hugeeee snack and hit about 1500 cals.
will then have feta and avacado salad

@gymorgin yes! My goal is 10.7/10.8 and I know I’ll gain on holiday thought going to be mindful for brekkie try skip lunch and then enjoy dinner with some wine. But I’ll gain and then be back to loose that and I want to say get to goal! But it’s not happened in a very long time so I can’t be sure I can do it!

@FijiSea you can do this! Think of how u will feel on Monday! It’s really though though I find every day a struggle some more than others! Stay strong. Plan. Drink water! And if fails don’t worry back on on Monday!!!
