Smartmove · 07/05/2023 07:22

I’ve done this before during lockdown and got down to a decent weight but slowly gone back up. I keep starting and then doing well and then self sabtogage and gain it all. It’s such a problem. So I’m taking it 1 week at a time. And writing on here to keep me on straight and narrow

day 1
weight 11.6 . Bmi 25.5
goal weight 10.8

this is post 4 days of self sabotage so should come off very quickly I was 11.1 4 days ago so should be water. And then will start slowing down

today plan
brocolli and Stilton soup at 11ish
feta stuffed chicken with a side salad of leaves and avacado at 4ish

I can do this. I usually eat 3 small meals but I ate so much last night I’m not hungry!

@Smartmove Well done for staying on plan, let's go for more of the same today.

@jelly79 Great work booking in your hiit session - do you get up early to go to the gym? Wish I could be a morning workout person.

I clean fasted until 2pm yesterday, had lasagne and veg for lunch and small portion of chicken chips and veg for dinner. (Followed by a bit of cake.)

No exercise. There's been on and off stress I've the last couple of weeks and even though I know the movement would be good for me, I can bring myself to do it with low mood.

I do plan to get a workout of some sort in today though.

Weighed at 10:7:3 today which is motivating me to keep going.

Tuna Pasta lunch and not sure on dinner yet.

Chunkymonkey123 · 03/10/2023 10:03

I’ve been off this thread for two weeks but back on it, I’m so upset to be back up at 10.13. I’m finding it so much harder to lose weight than I used to.
I started swimming again last week which was good, need to stick at it now. I have also done some of the carol given YouTube videos (just 20 minute ones) and they are pretty good.
Plan is to be 1200 max, if I drink alcohol it needs to come out of this total.

hollyblueivy · 03/10/2023 14:44

Welcome back @Chunkymonkey123

Swimming sounds good and I do find that if I'm exercising I am a little less likely to go off track.

I can't remember what you were before so not sure on your gain, but at least you are still in the 10's and hopefully joining back into this thread will help get you where you want to be.

Were you doing 1200 calories before?

Smartmove · 03/10/2023 15:16

Welcome back @Chunkymonkey123
dont feels down. It’s hard work this loosing weight! (I’m not doing great tbh) Ur back here and together we can try motivate and encourage :)

so far good day here. Stuck to plan. No nibbling no sugar. Stil not back at 10.9.5 hopefully tmrw! Maybe 10.9 for sat….

Morning, mid week and I'm 10:7:3 again today.

Happy with that though given the cake I keep eating - thankfully it's all gone now!

I did a half arsed workout yesterday but glad I moved as felt much better for it. Hoping to have a more energetic workout today.

Had a crumpet for breakfast
Will have soup for lunch
Chilli for dinner with a bit of rice and salad

If I can at least get to a point where there is a 10:6:something on the scale for Friday I will be happy.

Smartmove · 04/10/2023 07:34

Well done @hollyblueivy

im still not 10.9.5 ! Think I’m a bit bunged up and need some fibre today . Busy day at work so no workout. Feeling less unwell today so will try pull out a very low cal day of 850 today if I can.

Puriton shake
salmon avacado seed lunch
marinated halloumi and veg

OP posts:
Smartmove · 04/10/2023 14:06

Eaten a choc bar and a cookie :(

I give up!

OP posts:
jelly79 · 04/10/2023 20:04

@Smartmove what chocolate? I made a nice salmon salad yesterday and the. Inhaled cookies! Ridiculous

Today was a new day

Missed my workout (the darker morning s are hard)

Fasted till 1
Tuna pasta salad
Apples and peanut butter
Turkey and veg curry
Cornetto

Happy with that and typing to close the kitchen at 6:30 because I'm watching TV and I'm not hungry so now I cannot graze

hollyblueivy · 04/10/2023 20:39

Food has gone to plan but now the cake has gone I'm back on the ice cream!

Did have a decent workout though.

My chilli was a big portion so wouldn't be surprised to see an increase tomorrow.

jelly79 · 04/10/2023 22:00

What makes us reach for the sweet stuff?

I've been taking a keto powder in my coffee and it's haloed but not entirely!

Smartmove · 04/10/2023 22:11

@jelly79 i don’t know and when I do I can’t stop. So I had a full size girlie and a slice of cake and toast tonight. Really quite upset at myself :(
tmrw I have a dinner out have promised myself to stick to fish and veg (it’s an itaillian).

wondering if I exit thread until I’m loosing weight again coz right now I’m boring myself so must be boring everyone else!

OP posts:
Smartmove · 04/10/2023 22:11

That’s full size yorkie!

OP posts:
jelly79 · 05/10/2023 07:12

199% not boring! It's real it's normal life! I feel this thread keeps me accountable and helps but you have to do what's right for you :)

I've done my HIIT this morning and weighed in for the first time in days at 10s 2.4 - if I can get 0.5 off for tomorrows weigh in I'll be happy!

2 weeks on Monday to holiday so I am cutting out the sugary snacks! As I'm the same when I start I have too much!

Today
Fast till 11
Porridge
Cottage pie
More water

badrchance · 05/10/2023 08:59

I absolutely couldn't agree more that it is the furthest from boring! We all have our blips and that's a chance for us to encourage each other, remain accountable for our actions and celebrate our little wins!

It seems to take me about 5 weeks to lose one pound at the moment so I must be boring you as well otherwise!

If you go, it could spiral and you'll be further away from where you want to be. Hope you decide to stay.

What about if you try a different strategy - allow your usual 1200 calories for your food and an additional say 150 calories for a treat. That way, you're still 1350 calories, but building your treats into the plan so you can have them guilt free. Could try and see if it makes an impact. Even if you didn't that every other day.

I was 10:7:9 this morning. A smidge up as expected.

Don't really have a plan today so will check in later.

Smartmove · 05/10/2023 09:13

Name change @badrchance ? I think I know who it is by ur weight :)

ur right. I’m staying on! Despite my failure!!!

plan today
fast till lunch then having a Puriton shake
out for dinner with colleagues tonight - coffee instead of dessert. Fish and veg. driving so no alcohol.

weighed in at 10.10.5 this am. Sigh!

OP posts:
hollyblueivy · 05/10/2023 10:07

Yes it's me! Glad you're staying.

We got this.

jelly79 · 05/10/2023 10:39

I agree with @hollyblueivy do you think your plans @Smartmove may be restrictive and there for you slip (we all do) but then you beat yourself up for 'failing' when it may be kinder to up your calories and 'allow' yourself the things you like. You can moderate?

It's taken me 6 months to lose 15lbs so it really a slow process for us all

We have got this!

Are we all going on holiday in a few weeks? Are we on a similar countdown?

Chunkymonkey123 · 05/10/2023 13:57

I understand your frustration @Smartmove, it feels so easy to put on weight and so hard to lose it!
@jelly79 15 pounds is amazing! You must be able to really feel that.
I’ve been swimming today and had 700cals so far. I’m doing hello fresh at the moment but trying to have the 500-700 calorie meals. No alcohol until tomorrow! Hoping to be 10.10 at weigh in tomorrow 🤞🤞🤞

jelly79 · 06/10/2023 07:07

Put 1 on since yesterday but my PT reassured me it because we trained legs yesterday so I'll take that! The numbers get you though!

I need 4lbs off in 2 weeks now which feels unlikely but I need to be careful I don't throw the towel in and go in to holiday mode!

10s 3.4 I have plans to eat out 4 times this weekend and a party tea Sunday! I am rethinking and making things easier for myself for the next 2 weeks! Removing temptation where possible

Have a good start to the weekend! We can do this!

hollyblueivy · 06/10/2023 07:15

Is that an in person PT? What kind of sessions do you do with them? I'd love to do a bit more strength type sessions but not really sure how to programme a proper workout.

Does that mean your muscles have retained water to repair them after training?

I think it's definitely worth keeping going all the way up to holiday, that's my intention too over the next couple of weeks.

hollyblueivy · 06/10/2023 07:18

10:7:3 for me today. I'll take that.

Goal of 10:6 rolls over to next week.

There's clearly something I need to do differently over the next week to finally get there after probably about 6 weeks?!!

hollyblueivy · 06/10/2023 10:25

What else needs to go on the list to focus these next couple of weeks ?

List of things to do and try to improve over the next couple of weeks:

Water intake - morning noon and night
Protein intake - focus on having some protein source in every meal
Fibre intake - bulk out meals with low calorie veg with fibre goodness
Alcohol - only drink one day in the week - do not drink to excess on this day
Sugary snacks - try to avoid but if needed keep calories low and do not binge - also remove sugar from coffee
Movement - get some movement in every day - swim / gym / walk / run / bike / home workout - something!!!

Chunkymonkey123 · 06/10/2023 17:30

10.10.2 today which was my goal for this week as I’m back to my starting weight pre august holiday. Hopefully going to lose 1 pound a week for the next few months which will make me 10 stone for Christmas (very unlikely but still the goal!)

hollyblueivy · 07/10/2023 07:58

Sounds like an entirely reasonable plan @Chunkymonkey123

Got to have something to aim for and sometimes I think of the goal is too easy, we don't try as hard to reach it.

Good luck and keep us updated.

10:7:9 this morning.

Today is likely to be my alcohol consumption / take away day.

jelly79 · 07/10/2023 17:14

I do an online session 4 x a week at 6:30! My friends and I have a PT that does a love class for us! We do upper, lower, core and cardio! Use weights and bands! I absolutely love it have been doing it since lockdown and more for the right head for the day than weight loss. I like the routine :) can really see the difference in legs and arms

I carry my weight on my middle though

Feel like I haven't had the best weekends food wise! Just been for a big walk and lunch and feeling sick! May have a doze x
