Hi @SaltyAlpaca 👋🏻

My favourite vegetarian recipe is the green fritters. If it's not in either book, I'll screen shot it for you as it's on the app. It's basically grated courgette, broccoli and goats cheese made into patties with an egg, and it's very yummy 😁

I also eat a lot of fish.

@OhCobblers Are you feeling any better about not just raising calories?

@Addidas that sounds a great plan! Wine and carbs are also featuring in my Mother's Day for similar reasons.

Ooh they do sound good! Would love the recipe if possible please Grin

xraydelta · 18/03/2023 18:22

@SaltyAlpaca here you are! I've decreased the text size to make it fit, but hopefully you can zoom in.

Only use one egg, and pop the things in the fridge after making them as then they don't fall apart while frying.

I love the lemony fresh flavour 😁

I’m going to try those as well, thanks for sharing @xraydelta!

On a roll now 😆 But unless you have the fast 800 keto recipe book, you won't have this recipe, and this is my equal favourite (although not vegetarian!)

I make it in double portions and take the second one to work.

I think the trick is using really good quality chicken stock and organic cooked chicken breast. I have started saving poached chicken breast in freezer bags already portioned out for this 😆

It makes two very generous portions, more than a usual lunch feels.

Back on Fast 800 again for 2 weeks! I did about 1200 - 1400 for a week plus exercise and put on 200g. In fact I was positively feeling and seeing more fat. I thought something must be going on and discovered that the Digestive Enzymes I was taking can actually increase fat absorption. To be honest I am relieved there was a reason as it was like my metabolism changed overnight! I do feel stronger, taking multivits etc. so...I've reread the book and made a 2 week meal plan.

A few reminders from the book that may be helpful.

Proper Fast 800 is best done with a 12 hour fast, I am adding this in.
Last meal 3 hours before bed.
Stick to exercising regime that you were doing.
If struggling having a normal eating day at the weekend is okay (still following med diet and portion control)
Also you can do it for two weeks, eat normally for 2 weeks (med diet and portion control) - studies found intermittent dieting works.

MistySkiesAreGone · 19/03/2023 13:08

Forgot to add was 10st 3 Friday, started Sat at 10st 2.8.

10st 1.4 this morning. I'm going into it this time with an exercise routine so will report back on how that goes. I'm hoping it distracts at least!

Addidas · 19/03/2023 19:45

Back on tmrw
feeling so bloated ! Am excited
brekkie and lunch prepped
dinner eggs smoked salmon brocolli
will be 928 cals 17g carbs

MistySkiesAreGone · 19/03/2023 21:28

Sounds good @Addidas .

Closed the kitchen on 822 cals.

Today was the creamy green smoothie, banana and cranberry lunch box bar (doesn't sound much but so much coconut oil!), and cod and nutty brocolli for dinner. 63g carb.

MistySkiesAreGone · 19/03/2023 22:22

Tomorrow's plan is creamy green smoothie, lentil pomegranate and feta salad with salad leaves (swapped some lentils for prawns/more feta), and steak/mushrooms with green beans, spring cabbage and spinach.

Snack of yoghurt, cacao powder and raspberries.

815 cals and 65g carb.

Did a ketone strip and apparently in low level ketosis.

MistySkiesAreGone · 19/03/2023 22:38

Also planned out 2 weeks worth of meals to go through to Sunday and done as much food prep as I can for this week.

MistySkiesAreGone · 19/03/2023 22:40

Made it a fun mini goal to get at least 50-70% of my RDA fibre intake daily, to encourage me to keep the greens up.

Tailrunner · 19/03/2023 22:49

Hi all, can I join you all please. We have booked our first big holiday as a family this year and it's pushed me to do something about my weight. I don't want to be struggling in the heat in too tight clothes! I started at 14st 10 and would love to get to 10st 7lbs eventually but losing a couple of stone before my hols would be amazing.

I started the Fast800 on Monday so I'm hoping for a good first weigh in tomorrow! I've really enjoyed it so far and haven't been as hungry as I expected but my issue with diets is keeping it going for more than a couple of weeks. I get busy and lose focus. I'm hoping this thread helps and also trying to plan ahead. I have planned all my meals for the next week and made some soup, bolognase and curry for the freezer.

Looking forward to chatting to you all.

xraydelta · 20/03/2023 07:55

Morning all to what is a miserable start to the day where I am! 🌧️

Huge respect to anyone who managed to fast during Mothers Day. I did not 😆 Mini eggs, a roast dinner and red wine were consumed.

I was up and at my gym class at 6 though. The same stand in lacklustre instructor, but it's better than nothing 🤷🏻‍♀️

Today's menu is the peanut butter and raspberry porridge for lunch and beef stir fry for dinner.

It's sodding raining, but I will attempt a walk at some stage to get my steps up too.

Welcome @Tailrunner 👋🏻

MistySkiesAreGone · 20/03/2023 08:12

@xraydelta that porridge sounds amazing! I'm in a stand off with peanut butter as PB in the house is a slippery slope towards buttered toast, PB and weight gain, so I don't have it. But if I found lots of Fast800 recipes with it could be persuaded!

Welcome @Tailrunner , it's great when you have a goal and timeframe. In the book it recommends making lists of what will help you stay on track and what the motivators are. One of mine is sharing my progress with others hence why I post. Good luck in your losses!

10st 0.2 today.

xraydelta · 20/03/2023 08:56

It's not one I've tried @MistySkiesAreGone so I'll pop back after lunch and tell you what it's like 😁

I am going to weigh the ingredients out, take it in my plastic breakfast bowl with a lid and stick it in the microwave at work.

The shopping is due imminently, which includes fresh raspberries 🙌🏻

Tailrunner · 20/03/2023 08:57

Thanks for the welcome. Just weighed in after my first week and I've lost 9.8 lbs so I am over the moon with that. My weight is now 14st 0.2lbs so I am really looking forward to moving into a new stone bracket next week!

@xraydelta that sounds like a great Mother's Day but I can't believe you made it to the gym for 6am today. I am not a morning person and would just turn the alarm off.

@MistySkiesAreGone I'm posting for the same reason, I'm hoping it will motivate me to stay on track. I had the satay chicken this week using peanut butter and it was lovely. Luckily I'm not a huge fan of it on toast so it's not a temptation to have it in.

Anewagain · 20/03/2023 09:17

That’s a fantastic start @Tailrunner ! Welcome and hope you have a great second week. Well done on your loss too @MistySkiesAreGone !

I love the sound of the peanut butter and raspberry porridge @xraydelta . I’m going to save that recipe too. It’s nice to have some new things to try after sticking to the blue and the red book for a while.

I’m away with work and it’s taking a lot of will power to stick to Fast 800. I managed to keeping going last night with some stir fry pork and vegetables for dinner and by turning down dessert. I don’t normally have breakfast but have just had bacon, egg, tinned tomatoes and mushrooms… so I’ll end up a bit over my usual calories but I managed to avoid hash browns, toast, and pastries.

Morning all! I have had a very bad weekend food-wise but with loads of physical activity so hoping it balances out. Friday takeaway, but was helping DM move and did loads of carrying boxes around, running up and downstairs, building beds etc. Then I was really hungover on Sat and it was our wedding anniversary, so some chocolate was consumed, and then yesterday we decided to rip up the stair carpet, sand the stairs and repaint the entire hall and stairs. I made the cauli rice kedgeree (which wasn't brilliant) for lunch, but by the time dinner came around we were mired in the awful feeling when you think you've chosen the wrong paint colour after spending all day on it, and so we ordered a chipper. I did paint or sand non-stop from 10.30 am to 8pm, though. And we did get too grey a colour so a chunk of it is going to be repainted, but at least this morning we're both agreed on that. I'm actually dizzy with exhaustion, though, so today is going to be a struggle. I bought keto strips and they arrived yesterday - no point in testing yet after the weekend but it will be interesting to see later in the week if I'm in ketosis.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 20/03/2023 09:54

@Tailrunner that's an amazing result in 1 week, well done!

MistySkiesAreGone · 20/03/2023 10:07

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar thats an interesting update. Maybe paint fumes also contributing to dizziness! I know that feeling re any big purchases! I got into ketosis surprisingly quick maybe 2 days. But I was low carbing a bit already.

VenusInfers · 20/03/2023 13:01

Hi @Tailrunner and @MistySkiesAreGone welcome and congratulations on great progress! V impressed with how organised you are Misty.

@Anewagain Well done on keeping strong - so hard when you are away from base and can’t reach into the fridge for any easy on-track meal.

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar - you must remind me, which wedding anniversary is the DIY one? Not sure we’ve had that one yet. 🤣

I’ve had a good weekend - bit of Mother’s Day wine and my son made me a fried egg sandwich for breakfast on Sunday but ran over 10 miles in total and have now lost 3kg in total since 8th. Just one more kg to lose before I can bear to calculate my weight in st & lbs! 😁

Addidas · 20/03/2023 16:10

Stayed on plan!!! 930 and 18g carbs

need to do this everyday for a month/6 weeks and prob be at goal but keep falling of the plan! I can do this…

VenusInfers · 20/03/2023 18:37

Whoop whoop @Addidas !! Every day on plan is a win!

MistySkiesAreGone · 20/03/2023 19:59

@Addidas you can do this! Calculate what that date is and get a calendar and stick your daily loss on it!
