9st 13.4 today. 600g loss. Pleased with that as shows me I can still lose on 75g carb.

Today is pottering, jobs, core conditioning class. Eating:

Baked salmon eggs 300
Chickpea salad 350
Tapenade 138

I find it much easier doing F800 when I am on annual leave and not stressed i.e. this week. Must try not get stressed back at work.

Friday is a girls night out which means dinner and wine, must have a look at the menu and see how I can mitigate the damage!

Anewagain · 12/04/2023 07:15

Well done for getting re-started @MistySkiesAreGone and @TooExtraImmatureCheddar and on your loss @MistySkiesAreGone

I’m still away on holiday but aiming to get going again from today. I’m nervous about weighing when I get back because I’ve not held back with the Easter chocolate and holiday meals.

Some real inspiration here! impressive getting back on track for @MistySkiesAreGone and @TooExtraImmatureCheddar. You enjoy your break @Anewagain. This WOE has to be sustainable.

Did have a bit of a splurge at the weekend but kept it within Sunday with some chocolate and a glass of wine with dinner. Huge compensatory hill yomp with kids nearly killed me and I was up a pound this morning. Now have a snotty nose cold and not feeling up to much exercise but will stick to plan as far as eating goes.

Fast 800 Shake + frozen rasps 280
Chicken methi 350
Cauliflower Pilau 100

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 12/04/2023 11:57

Weighed in this morning and I'm up after my bad two weekends, but a) I'm only up 3.5lb, b) my period is due in the next couple of days and c) I went for a 3 hour walk on Mon. Hopefully it will start to come down again over the next few days. I was so hungry last night but I stayed strong and didn't crack.

Hope you've had a lovely holiday, @Anewagain! @MistySkiesAreGone, you're doing really well. @Tunneltiger, hope you start to feel better soon.

Anewagain · 12/04/2023 16:50

Thank you @Tunneltiger and @TooExtraImmatureCheddar .

I snuck into Boots earlier and weighed myself just to see and the weight gain isn’t looking too bad. I was beginning to spiral thinking I was on my way to gaining everything back (which of course would be spectacular weight gain in just ten days!). I thought I’d pressed to get the body fat percentage out of curiosity and as something to aim towards but it didn’t print that result.

I bought some new clothes all in smaller sizes. I guessed I might need a size up and I’m nearly another size down!

I’ve ordered the Fast 800 Keto recipe book to turbo charge things with some new recipes and so I can do some meal planning for when I’m back. I’ve also had a bit of a review and written some new goals for this next stage.

MistySkiesAreGone · 13/04/2023 11:04

Wasn't sure what to expect this morning as did relatively little exercise yesterday bar a 3 min run to the post office. Cals were about 950.

I'm 9st 12, so 1.4 loss from yesterday, and 2.4lb loss in 2 days! So for anyone feeling demotivated post Easter, fear not! I'm back to where I was beford Easter in 3 days and more importantly feel better, the bloat is gone.

Really feeling the benefits of the weight training class, I absolutely love it and I know this is the route for me in the final straight- to really focus on building muscle. I don't want to have super low body fat but knock off about 8 or 9%. It's hard to know how much/quickly that is changing. I will have a look back at the date I last checked and schedule to check again 4 weeks after that, I don't want to check too early and find nothing changed! There are some bathroom scales that check body fat % I think.

It is very encouraging to read about everyones approach, I think breaking it into stages is such a good mental thing to do.

I think my stage is that I have reached a new set point. I was 10st - 10st 4,now I think the new range is 9st 12 - 10st. My next big push / target is to get to 9st 9. That is what I achieved last time on Fast800 so that will be a big milestone.

Dinner menu on Friday is sardines and cod so hopefully girls night won't be too calorific and I can sail through the weekend I hope.

Anewagain · 13/04/2023 14:23

Fantastic @MistySkiesAreGone and it’s encouraging that you’re back to where you were within a couple of days. Amazing that you feel you might have reached a new set point too.

I’ve enjoyed flicking through the Keto recipe book today and am now going to do some meal planning so I’m ready to go again from Monday. I suspect breaking it into stages will help me. I effectively did the 12 weeks and then have wobbled around then had holiday so seeing the first stage as completed and starting a fresh new block/stage will be a good thing for me mentally.

I need to look into weight training. I’m not sure it counts but I’m planning to do the 30 Day Shred to get started with a different type of exercise to running. It’s annoying to watch but I found it very effective before and I like doing something short that I’m familiar with.

OP posts:
TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 13/04/2023 16:59

That's great, @MistySkiesAreGone! It's very heartening to hear that it only took you a few days to lose the Easter bloat too.

@Anewagain, I've done 30 Day Shred in the past too and it definitely counts as weight lifting in places - particularly all the press-ups and plank jacks and things.

An accident occurred when I went into the M&S Food Hall yesterday at dinner time - let us draw a veil over the feeding frenzy that ensued. I can't go into a nice swanky shop I don't normally visit when I'm hungry! However, I have dispatched DH to the shop today to buy dinner and my Tesco delivery will be here between 8 and 9 so I won't have to venture into another shop for a while.

I'm starting Couch 2 5k on Monday again - it's been a long time so will probably be back at the beginning, but it will be good to get back to running. This time I'm over a stone lighter so it will be interesting to see whether I can feel the difference or not!

MistySkiesAreGone · 14/04/2023 07:39

Still 9st 12 today. 885 cals yest, 65g carb. Waiting for a weight shift!

Today is boiled egg, chickpea salad, and sardines and cod on girls dinner out. I think we are going dancing.

MistySkiesAreGone · 14/04/2023 08:04

Just reread what the book says about plateaus...keep going basically. Also I am day 22 of my monthly cycle and I lose less as I approach TOTM, important to remember. I think not stressing about is important. NSV I've lost 2 inches off my waist since Jan.

Tailrunner · 15/04/2023 07:49

Morning all, we've had a busy Easter holiday but I've managed to mostly stick to plan (trickier on days out) and I'm very pleased to have reached 1 stone 0.8lb lost. My next mini target is to lose 9.5 lbs and get into a new stone bracket before we have a weekend away with family in May. I still have around 3.5 - 4 stone to lose which is scary so I'm just focusing on a little bit at a time.

@MistySkiesAreGone well done, you doing really on it and 2 inches is amazing

@TooExtraImmatureCheddar the M&S food hall is lethal! Good luck with the couch to 5k. I used to run a lot and just getting back to it. It's hard but I'm enjoying it. Hoping it gets easier as I get lighter too.

@Anewagain good luck with the shred. I can't do it as I have a dodgy knee after injuring it but did it in the past and loved getting a good workout really quickly.

@Tunneltiger hope the horrible cold has gone!

Anewagain · 15/04/2023 20:55

Well done on your loss @Tailrunner. I have a way to go still too and find it helpful to break it down into chunks too.

Two inches from your waist is an amazing NSV @MistySkiesAreGone!

I finished Couch 2 5K before my holiday @TooExtraImmatureCheddar a d found it a helpful challenge to set myself. There’s a friendly C25K thread on the exercise board you may want to join.

I’m now back home and preparing to weigh in tomorrow and for a fresh start. I even bought myself a kettlebell today. Not sure what to do with it yet though!

OP posts:
Anewagain · 16/04/2023 07:34

I’ve weighed in this morning and it’s a 5lb gain which isn’t bad for two weeks of holiday and Easter completely off plan - and given hopefully at least a couple of pounds will be water weight.

OP posts:
Tailrunner · 16/04/2023 09:53

That's really not bad @Anewagain and I'm sure it will come straight back off if you get back on plan today.

I've planned out for my meals for the week and I'm looking forward to trying some new recipes but definitely have the end of holiday blues today. Back to school for me and DC tomorrow after a lovely chilled Easter break.

MistySkiesAreGone · 16/04/2023 11:45

Also end of holiday blues! Had a lovely week off, nice variety of family/friends/house jobs.

The weekend was a bit of a blow out and I am 9st 13.6 this morning. This is not too bad considering!

I thought I would just write out some thoughts/learnings on blow outs.

If I am having a blow out still try and go for low carb options - equally filling and delicious with less impact.
Prosecco is 80 cals a glass so this is good.
Try and avoid sugary mocktails as I get a sugar hangover.
If you love it have a dessert, life is too short.
Lots of lower carb breakfast options, I had an incredible shakshuka.
Some things are not great! Blow out wisely! I ended up having quite a bit of average Lidl chocolate I could have done without and a Pizza Express supermarket pizza which was so bland.
Eating bigger fasting portions can be an alternative when munchies set in.
I think it's good to weigh the day after the blowout as the food hasn't taken residence yet and it can be motivating for having a better day.

Unfortunately I missed legs bums tums today but not really in the mood as need to prepare for next week. I will try and have a good day.

MistySkiesAreGone · 16/04/2023 11:54

Looking ahead the next big thing is an event on 3rd June and I would like to be goal weight the week before, so about 8lbs to lose in 6 weeks which is very doable.

The question really is what calories intake to go for. I think before I said I would do strict Fast800 to get to 9st 9 then 5/2. However I was hoping to be 9st9 before going back to work, and I don't think I have enough concentration on 800 calories for my job, I am too slow.

MistySkiesAreGone · 17/04/2023 04:09

Reasonably good day yest, resisted urge for choc by having hot milk and cacao powder. I made a special gym trip to use the boditrax machine but it was out of use!

Today is egg muffins, tapenade and chorizo stew. Tues is creamy smoothie, lentil soup (made) and steak. Quite a few new things to make this week- chicken casserole, lamb saag, celeriac omelette, cowboy beans, carrot cod, chocolate shake, spicey bean chilli.

Plan to just aim for 800 but if I am struggling eat more. Also back to exercise but need to find some hamstring stretches as have a niggle.

Just realised how early it is! Trying 5am wakeups and earlier nights.

MistySkiesAreGone · 17/04/2023 09:06

10st 0.4 today, the increase is fine given the weekend. Motivated to stick to it to today. I suspect Tuesday will be the hardest day 😬.

Now it's Springy when I get a chance I am going to do a two or three hour walk on a Saturday.

Anewagain · 17/04/2023 09:28

Today marks my fresh start. I also have post holiday blues. I’m sticking to familiar and simple recipes this week to keep things easy. That means mushroom soup for lunch today and chicken goujons for dinner. Then chickpea patties (Tues) and spicy lettuce tacos (Weds) - both recipes that mean I can have the left overs for lunch the following days.

Good luck everyone.

Also hoping to enjoy a spring walk @MistySkiesAreGone I’m in awe at your 5am wake ups.

Hope start of school and routine goes well for you today @Tailrunner Today is an inset day for DS so one more day out of routine for us and I didn’t manage to exercise this morning.

Tunneltiger · 17/04/2023 09:55

Lots of fresh starts here after Easter. Just read back over your thoughts on blowouts @MistySkiesAreGone and going for low carb options is so wise. I always crave things like crackers and bread but have been opting for a chunk of cheese instead. I have stopped keeping nuts in the house as although Michael Moseley recommended them in his Just one thing podcast, he obviously had never encountered someone who could 'snack' 500 grams in one sitting.....
You are so well organised @Anewagain . Is spicy lettuce tacos a Fast 800 recipe.? Going to have to look through that book again.
Getting to the tail end of a cold with lots of coughing but have been able to get out with the dog over the weekend. Saw two red squirrels on my yomps (could have been the same one glimpsed twice) which was very cheering.
Cooked a gammon joint at the weekend so going to have a very hammy week. Today is ham and lentil soup, tomorrow ham salad, Weds will be courgetti with hammy tomato sauce. Still using the shakes which are keeping me going so shake at lunch then dinner keeps me around 800.

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 17/04/2023 13:33

Hi all!

@Tailrunner well done on your loss! That's great.

I had a Saturday blowout - fakeaway Indian food and loads of wine and beer. It feels like three days good two days bad at the moment, which isn't resulting in any weight loss. I'm going on holiday on 4th June so I really need to buckle down, break the 11 stone barrier and generally focus. I've got another weekend away this week but after that the decks are clear and I can get on.

I've discovered that my version of a tablespoon of eg yoghurt and the one in the book is very different. Yesterday I made poached tarragon chicken with a yoghurt dressing, and it said to put in 6 tablespoons of yoghurt. Today I used a smaller spoon and weighed a different recipe that called for 4 tablespoons or 50g. Turns out one of my tablespoons is 50g! Oops. I did think yesterday's chicken was very heavy on the sauce. Will weigh tablespoon measures in future.

@MistySkiesAreGone, congratulations on your tiny waist! I had to get DH to drill a new hole in my belt today, which marks approx 2 inches lost since Jan too. I dread to think what it was to start with, but hey.

@Anewagain, 5lbs over the whole of Easter isn't bad at all. That'll be gone in a flash! I did start Couch 2 5k today - day 1 week 1 down. It's funny how running for 1 minute feels hard again when last year I was up to 30 mins of running. Hope it helps my legs tone up a bit - have just ordered some denim shorts for my holiday.

Tailrunner · 17/04/2023 17:15

I am soooo hungry today. I don't know if its going back to work or just one of those days. I'm cooking red Thai curry from the blood sugar diet book for dinner and can't wait for it to be done!

xraydelta · 17/04/2023 17:35

Hello 👋🏻

Sorry I have been out of communication.

I have actually been doing something rather outing if I mention specifics, but think heat and extreme physical exertion so carbs and more calories were needed in the last few weeks.

I'll be back on the Fast 800 in a day or so though 😁

I hope everyone is well and thriving!

MistySkiesAreGone · 17/04/2023 21:49

Think its fair to say we are all trying, not sure I am thriving! Decided to weigh on a Friday. My body and mind has gotten into this mentality of losing and gaining the same pounds and I need to shake it up. This will make sure I exercise on Weds-Fri. Mon-Tues are not high intensity days and I don't want to lose momentum. I may weigh other days but Friday is the only one I am recording officially.

MistySkiesAreGone · 17/04/2023 21:54

Also going to record my exercise sessions on my phone and take a weekly photo for me so I can see muscle gain :). I'm just sick of a few steps forward and a few back and I was thinking what is it that motivates me, and that is tracking progress for myself and structure.
