@Cafog well done on your weight loss

Yeah I just to get a grip , I like you am at my heaviest , if I don't get a grip I'm worried I will end up 20 stone

I need to get rid of this 3 stone and change my behaviour

@yumyumpoppycat thanks, yes I'm great with exercising, I love running and do around 20-30 miles every week plus about 25 walking . If only I could throw this efforts into not eating . Hopefully I will get there eventually

Before if I derailed it was a excuse to binged on crap for days. No I'm taking each meal as a new start , if I mess up well next meal get back at it instead of next Monday which was my thoughts before

Well done all those losing weight this week , your efforts are my inspiration.

yumyumpoppycat · 10/01/2022 10:54

Defo indoctro - better to lose slower but work on habits/ mindset rather than aim to be perfect only to gain it back and more if you slip up. This is defo what I need to do. Can't bear the thought of losing a lot only to go back to old ways and be heavier than ever, this has happened to me sooo many times.

Maintained loss over weekend so calling that a win! Hope all doing well

StoopitAutocarrot · 10/01/2022 10:55

Tested positive this morning so I’ll be relying on DH for meals this week!

PhoenixMama · 10/01/2022 11:12

Morning! That's a great attitude @Indoctro

@yumyumpoppycat I definitely think maintaining over the weekend is a win!

I did the same and I'm happy enough with that! Really found not drinking hard on the weekend but stuck with it regardless.

@StoopitAutocarrot Poor you - hope you don't feel too rough.

PhoenixMama · 11/01/2022 08:25

Arrrrggggg I'm so frustrated, scale hasn't moved more than a few ounces in 3 days & I've been at 800 or 750 each day. I know I'm losing because I'm losing inches so I'm not going to quit but it's so frustrating when you're being good and not seeing results. I'm away for a 50th this weekend which won't be 800 cals a day but I'd hoped I'd lose enough in the first 2 weeks that it would set me back too far but now I'm not sure.

How's everyone else getting on?

yumyumpoppycat · 11/01/2022 09:33

I am down a lb this morning but I somehow managed to have loads of cals at breakfast do have less than 300 for the rest of the day! That's probably not going to happen!

It does sometimes seem to go that when the scale drops it is water or good weight whereas it stays the same when fat is being lost - the scales literally make no sense sometimes- well done for sticking with it.

yumyumpoppycat · 11/01/2022 09:34

Food weight not good weight!

ilovetomatoes · 11/01/2022 18:38

@yumyumpoppycat I’m down 2kg this week and it is definitely food weight and water. It’s only day 7 for me. I’m under no illusions that is a tangible change in such a short space of time.

Still, I’m feeling very motivated to keep going. Have a big party on 30th January so I want to make a big dent before then.

PhoenixMama · 11/01/2022 19:49

Made the mistake of having a hot chocolate today & it put me way over on cals so that's today messed up. Booking tomorrow is better.

yumyumpoppycat · 12/01/2022 08:45

Well done on your loss ilove. fingers crossed for a good day today Phoenix.

PhoenixMama · 13/01/2022 09:49

Hi all, yesterday was ok. I'm finding it easier going longer without food so that's good (and when I eat I'm fuller longer). Down 2 more lbs. Back working from home today so that's a lot easier. Definitely need to think about how I manage food when I'm working away as they're longer days and I tend to have that afternoon crash/desire for sweet things.

Baking cakes and cupcakes today so will do my best not to eat all of it!!!

ilovetomatoes · 13/01/2022 15:52

Felt horrendous today! Massive headache and nausea. Went back to bed after school run. Are a satsuma. Had a cup of tea, felt better 😂

yumyumpoppycat · 13/01/2022 17:14

I had have an occasional nap when starting too! This is definitely a sometimes good day sometimes bad day diet!

I was in the office yest am but back home at lunchtime, but even though it wasn't as late as I would eat when at home I was ravenous and had to eat a snack before even thinking about making lunch! I also had a complete crash again at about 4 pm but sorted it with a cup of tea. So weird!

Today has been a good day. Greek yog, tiny (and very caloric) sprinkle of low sugar granola and heated up frozen raspberries. Had random but yum salad with baby leafs, a couple of crumbled walnuts, leftover turkey steak and avocado for lunch. I will make dinner for everyone else and workout what I can use my last few cals up on from that.

PandoraP · 14/01/2022 09:11

Is the blood sugar diet of 800 adjusting for things like height and exercise ? I am only 5:2 and 50 years old. Surely I will need less calories than someone younger and taller or at least they will have more success on this diet? Similarly someone very active will burn more than someone sedentary?

PhoenixMama · 14/01/2022 10:27

Hi all - that sounds like a delicious salad @yumyumpoppycat & well done for staying on track!

@ilovetomatoes I'm so jealous of your nap - sometimes I feel utterly exhausted in the first few weeks.

I had an awful day yesterday baking led to just mindlessly eating oreos - like I hadn't noticed till 3 were gone! We're away this weekend at a very posh country house that's basically catered so not sure I'll stay on track but very much looking forward to getting back on it on Monday!

@PandoraP 800 calories is very low for everyone really and the point is to put your body into ketosis and that's about the level. Have you read the book? He covers the science of 800 in there. Also very active people generally do need more calories. I know Bear who started this thread before had to up to 1200 when she was running every other day as she really struggled, but she still lost on it. Generally you're not supposed to eat the calories you burn doing exercise but sometime you literally have to!

EverybodysALebowski · 15/01/2022 10:40

Hi folks, was here a long time ago but coming back. I'd lost nearly 6 stone (and really needed to lose 2 more) but then experienced multiple bereavements, a stressful new position at work, and then of course the pandemic. So I managed to gain about 3 stone back over the past 2-3 years, which will not do at all. My ideal target would be to lose 5 stone, which is of course a longterm project. However, I know that doing fast BSD in the past has kickstarted me into a longer trend of sustainable loss, so time to do a cycle or two and get that going.

Now I'm in W1D6 and all is going well. Have had some hangry moments but stuck under 900 cals and 75 g carbs per day so far.

Fortunately and unfortunately I have dinner at a friend's tonight, so I will I'm sure there will be a bit of deviation from plan because fun. But I'm prepping by taking a bottle of fizzy water (to cut any wine I drink) and veggie crudites (to keep my hands away from the inevitable bread and cheese).

Wishing you all the best for a great (and not too challenging) weekend.

PandoraP · 15/01/2022 11:45

@PhoenixMama, thanks I have not read the book. I have a about one covid stone to lose which will put me on the top end of my BMI where I am happy. I exercise a lot (2-3 hours a day) and thought this would mean I would naturally lose the weight I put on when the gym was closed during covid, but I think I eat a lot and love carbs so need to look at diet too. So are you not supposed to exercise on the 800 calories a day?

yumyumpoppycat · 15/01/2022 12:45

@PhoenixMama enjoy your weekend - sounds lovely!

@EverybodysALebowski welcome - sorry to hear that you had bereavements. Well done for maintaing half your loss. Unfortunately I regained 3 stone and am a stone up on my pre bsd weight 😫

@PandoraP if you were exercising before it is fine to continue. You could have a few days off while you go through any carb flu. I think most of the books have a little section on exercise which will be worth a read. The new book allows people to go up to 1000 if necessary,

So I have been following the new keto 800. In this book mm says specifically not to go below 800 cals and you can go up to 1000 so long as carbs remain below 50g and protein is above 50g. I had a look back on my fitness pal and at 2 weeks my weight loss seems to be almost identical (9 lbs) to when I did BSD 5 years ago! This is despite having an extra 200 cals a day (I have averaged 1050 per day). My carbs have been approx 20g lower on average and protein 20g higher than when I did bsd. Obviously I weigh a stone more but am also 5 years older so swings and roundabouts.

Have a lovely weekend everyone

Strictlydusting · 16/01/2022 17:22

Any tips for constipation? I lost 2 stone last time on fast 800 but really had horrific constipation. Back on the wagon now 7lb in 2
Weeks but now again at week 3 I haven’t been to the loo for 4 days! I have taken some constipation relief pills today but don’t really want to be taking them long term. I am getting plenty of fluids so am not sure what’s going wrong?

PhoenixMama · 16/01/2022 21:16

Hi everyone! Just in the way back from my gorgeous weekends away & will not be stepping on the scale tomorrow but will need back on it. Really aware over the weekend how round my middle is and something I definitely want to work on.

@Strictlydusting Are you getting enough leafy green veg? Also how much water are you drinking? I need 3 - 4 litres a day when in on Fast800 to make sure everything shifts.

Threeboysandadog · 16/01/2022 22:33

Can I please join you. I’ve name changed as I don’t want anyone in real life to know what I’m doing as they will not approve but have been on Mumsnet and countless of the diet threads for years! But this is it …..

I had some success a couple of years ago with fast800 but lockdown has taken its toll. I’m planning to start Keto800 tomorrow. I will weigh and measure in the morning and post it here but I have about 6 stone to lose. I’ve read the book and made a meal plan for next week. Tesco delivery ordered for the morning. And I’m ready.

EverybodysALebowski · 17/01/2022 01:49

survived the dinner party :) did enjoy some wine but managed to resist garlic bread and chocolate dessert. Today has been a bit carb heavy (100g exactly) but managed to come in at 900 cals.

I'm not doing the keto version of BSD, as I have gall bladder issues and need the fibre from reasonable carbs (oatmeal and beans for example). Last time I did this I relied more on cheese, marvelous cheese. But these days I have to skimp on cheese. So I'm going to have my late morning oatmeal, which makes me happy.

Strictlydusting · 17/01/2022 08:13

@PhoenixMama definitely getting enough fluids and eating on average 2 large handfuls spinach and same of broccoli a day plus other veg and berries in a smoothly in the morning. Will try upping both and see what happens

ilovetomatoes · 17/01/2022 13:00

Hit the dreaded plateau. Been the same weight since Thursday despite sticking closely to the principles and exercising. Hoping for a big drop in the next couple of days.
