@yumyumpoppycat thanks I will try it

ilovetomatoes · 03/01/2022 22:11

I’m joining after losing 8kg in 2020 on fast800 and put it all back on and more (will weigh in tomorrow morning). Main issue for me is to reset my relationship with alcohol. I have been drinking way more at home since lockdown one.

PhoenixMama · 03/01/2022 22:29

Welcome @Cafog & @ilovetomatoes!

828 today but that does include some dark chocolate. Really trying to give up sugar but have such an awful headache the last 2 days. I know drinking more water will help but still annoying.

Did Day 2/30 of Yoga with Adrienne today - shocking how much flexibility I've lost but also feels good to move! Hopefully the scale will be good to me tomorrow!

Tickledtrout · 04/01/2022 07:07

Hi everyone... I'm hopping back on. Need to get organised with s shop today but am making a start. Veggie so aiming for 900 calories as I find I need a bit of cheese to fill me up
Daily pilates/ yoga on my list too. Just ten minutes but that's all I'm up to at the moment tbh

StoopitAutocarrot · 04/01/2022 07:34

was a little bit tummy rumbly in bed last night, but I feel strong and positive today.

roast veg salad for lunch, monkfish and broccoli for dinner

Its the giving alcohol which is toughest for me, so I'll be patting myself on the back every day that I manage.

ilovetomatoes · 04/01/2022 14:26

Weigh in worse than I thought…..put on 11kg. Ouch. Lots of work to do!

PhoenixMama · 04/01/2022 15:33

Arrrg wrote a long message and it got deleted!

Welcome @Tickledtrout! @ilovetomatoes - I was the same! Very ouch but we'll do it!!

So big loss overnight - another 3lbs so total loss so far is 6.4lbs, which is great because my goal was 7lbs (which I lost last time in the first week). My scale can be a bit persnickity so I'm taking it as a win cautiously.

Still have a bit of a headache so trying to drink insane levels of water today to help bring it under control. Also done day 3/30 yoga. I've lost so much flexibility & strength it's embarassing but it also feels so good to just move. Not sure I'm going to get a walk in today but doing my menu planning for the rest of the week now! Good luck today everyone!

Cafog · 04/01/2022 20:25

@PhoenixMama well done! I was 3lb down this morning after day 1. Came in at 801 cals yesterday and will finish on 790 today. Wee headache starting so going to chug a load of water and go to bed soon and hope it passes. Hoping to lay off alcohol for at least the rest of January.

PhoenixMama · 05/01/2022 16:02

Annoyingly, after a day being under I was up 1lb this morning (still -6lbs). Think that has more to do with my scale than my diet if I'm being honest. Had to go out for lunch today but think I did ok. I'm working away from home tomorrow which will make things harder but will hit somewhere healthy for lunch.

Feeling very dehydrated and tired today though. Still got a headache too. Drinking as much water as possible! Did get yoga done this morning and walked the dog for 40 mins (hit 10k steps while on tthe way to lunch) so there's at least that!

yumyumpoppycat · 06/01/2022 09:09

@Cafog hope you feel ok today

@PhoenixMama at least there is usually less temptation working away and hopefully some good options for lunch meals plus will make a change from home options

My loss for week 1 so far has been 2, 2, 1, 1, 0.5. like a saddo I looked back on thread 1 when I originally did BSD and I gained 2lbs on day 7 so hope that doesn't happen!

yumyumpoppycat · 06/01/2022 09:13

Sorry just to add I am also very thirsty and drinking more than normal.

PhoenixMama · 06/01/2022 09:40

No change in the scale today & I was definitely below 800, that said I haven't been drinking enough water so there's that to scale up. Still bloody frustrating though. Obviously my scale was wrong when it dropped suddenly, I should be happy with a 6lb drop but getting stuck just annoys me!

Simpatico · 06/01/2022 09:42

Hi there! Can I join in please? I lost 4.5 stones on fast 800 in 2020 and have regained 2 of those - all the usual Covid stuff and a bereavement have contributed to a lack of focus. Doing Dry January as along with others minimising drinking is key to better everything for me. Have found this thread in the past very inspiring and informative. So: I am 5ft 3, weigh currently 11st 1.5 and planning to Fast 800 for 12 weeks. Good luck to everyone on here and thanks for the inspiring posts!

ilovetomatoes · 06/01/2022 20:38

Feeling pretty good. Amazing how productive I am with no booze and a good diet! Have achieved lots in the last few days!

For the veggies saying they are having 900 calories, could someone explain more? Don’t think I’ve come across that bit before and I am veggie. Thanks!

PhoenixMama · 06/01/2022 22:07

Hi all! Over today (working away from home is always a nightmare & was soooooo cold). Also loads of bad news today didn't help. Will see what the scale says tomorrow. Have given up booze too (aside from 1 pre-planned celebration activity each month!) Hopefully tomorrow is a better day.

yumyumpoppycat · 06/01/2022 23:25

PhoenixMama, oh m goodness yes it was like walking into a fridge when I left the house today. So sorry you have had bad news Thanksfingers crossed for tomorrow.

@ilovetomatoes that is brilliant you are feeling so good! Re extra cals, I am not totally sure but I think the extra calories are because it can be harder to reach the protein goals on a vegan or vegetarian diet.

@Simpatico welcome! well done on maintaining 2 stone loss and getting back on it.

Indoctro · 07/01/2022 08:56

I managed 3 days then went to pot yesterday and ate chips cheese and then chocolate, really annoyed at myself

But starting again today. This is typical of me, I can manage a bit then I ruin it

I need to break the cycle .

Indoctro · 07/01/2022 08:57

It's in the blue book, to get enough protein veggie/vegan can have 900

But if your hitting your protein then I wouldn't worry about it.

I think it's even harder for vegans

PhoenixMama · 07/01/2022 12:39

Ok down a bit overnight so have lost 6.8lbs. Feels a bit like a slog right now but I think thats other things in my life too lol. Like I can't get over how much fitness I've lost in the last 5 months too! Just doing yoga's made my body sore lol and last year I did it pretty much every day for 6 months!

@Indoctro Do you know why you caved? I know I do it around emotional things (my stress language is definitely food!) I do find when I can be really aware of why I do it it makes it easier to stop myself?

Noneyerbuisness11234 · 07/01/2022 16:31

Hi I'd like to join I'm doin exante 800 3 shakes and 1 200cal meal a day started Wednesday have lost 5lbs start weight 15s7 iv been doing ok but now it's the weekend struggling to not have that glass of wine lol

Indoctro · 08/01/2022 08:38

@PhoenixMama I have ADHD and issues being being implosive and I was driving past a chip shop and spotted it and that was that

It's the reason I'm fat, I eat healthy and do loads of exercise but I just binged on stuff for no reason other than I spot something and have to have it

It's work in progress for me unfortunately

Anyway I just have to keep on it and get straight back to fast 800 and hope for the best

Cafog · 08/01/2022 09:01

@Indoctro this happens me a lot usually on Day 3, get back on it if you can. I did take a bit of DSs bar of chocolate one evening and could easily have went in a binge after that but gritted my teeth and didn't. I think the only thing that's changed is the fact I'd hit my heaviest weight and couldn't afford to go backwards this time.

So day 6 for me and I'm 7lb down. Delighted! The difficulty is we're off out for dinner tonight and my mum is cooking Sunday lunch tomorrow. I'm going to just try and make good choices, no starters or dessert and a tiny piece of potato with lunch.

Today I need to sit snd do meal plan for next week and get the shopping in. I kind of winged it last week apart from lunches but I know motivation will drop this week and I need to prepared!

Good luck over the weekend everyone.

WildePozy · 08/01/2022 09:14

Wow this thread got so busy this thread!
Welcome everyone!

I’ve had a good week, managed to drop the 5lbs I put on over Christmas, though mostly water I assume.
I haven’t been super strict and definitely crept up over the 800 once or twice. Weekends tend to be my downfall when my husband does the cooking.

My first goal is in sight, 5lbs to go, and then i’m a stone from my final goal weight so i’m feeling really pleased.

I’ve been doing this since October and although had the odd whoosh it’s been a more steady loss for me but I feel great from it. My main focus has been on not getting angry or feeling guilty if I trip up occasionally. We’re only human!

PhoenixMama · 08/01/2022 13:05

Morning all! I agree with other posters that you just kinda have to grit your teeth and get back on the horse after a mess up. Also try & take the shame and negative self talk out of it (I'm not great at this but I'm trying).

So Fridays are traditionally my weigh-in day so down 6.8lbs for week 1. Shame I didn't cross that 7 line but still happy with that. Thing I'm most happy about is I've dropped 4.75 inches, including 1.5 inches off my belly! Also - zero alcohol and done yoga every day.

Hoping for 3lbs loss next week - last time round in 2019 I lost 21lbs in the first month but I had a lot more to lose so I'm hoping for a stone in the first month and 3lbs a week would definitely put me on track for that. Next weekend I'm going away for a 50th but will be doing my best to limit as much as I can but I gave myself 1 celebration a month and that will be January's.

I swear the first 2 weeks are the hardest for a while so hope everyone else is ok!

yumyumpoppycat · 08/01/2022 13:07

@Noneyerbuisness11234 welcome to the thread.

Great news on the loses cafrog and wilderpozy.

Indoctro if in general you are mostly healthy eating and exercise then that's important and you are doing better than me tbh! Think like others have said we have to not beat ourselves up when we go off plan and it happens to most of us.

Ok so STS again - bit disappointed but my cals for week 1 averaged at 1050, my carbs were low though. Lost 6.5lbs.
