Ooo I had a not very sensible weekend but pulled it back in yesterday. I was so so hungry by the end of the day. Wanted wine and nuts but ate what felt like a plate of stir fried cabbage for dinner. Confused tho it wasn't that bad.
I'm making a soup with peppers, tomato and a tiny bit of old butter it squash for lunch. But my tummy is rumbling like mad. Could really do with a wedge of bread and butter.
Crikey, the first days are hard aren't they! But by the end of day three I am going to get that light, lithe, clear headed feeling aren't I? I do hope it works out like that!
To spur me on I've just tried on one of my favourite jumpers which now looks like a beige condom it's so tight.
I'd like to he able to fit into it again normally at some point this winter!

northwooddown · 02/11/2021 12:24

@WildePozy - have you been exercising this time round?
I'm thinking I might get a stone off before I tackle running or anything more strenuous. I'm worried I'll break my knees if I run at this weight. Also running makes me so so hungry. Not sure what to do.... hold off on exercise or do some?

WildePozy · 03/11/2021 08:19

@northwooddown Those first days are so intense, the headaches I got from lack of sugar were the worst. Hoping you’re coming out the other side.
I always find trying on old clothes a good way of working out how much I’ve gained or lost. The beige condom cracked me up!

I’ve not been exercising but trying to hit the 10k steps a day which is proving tricky on rainy days with my toddler. I do the odd Yoga session on YouTube if I’m up early enough, but I think I’ll rejoin the sweat app when I’ve hit a certain target. I really enjoyed that in the past but it’s certainly not something I could do now on so few calories.

WildePozy · 03/11/2021 08:24

Updates

Week 1: -3lbs
Week 2: -3lbs
Week 3: -1.5lbs

I am disappointed that I’ve not lost much this week, but I had a meal out with cocktails one night and a few extra cups of tea here and there so I’ve definitely gone over my limit.
Hoping to go back to basics this week, and really stick to it!

WildePozy · 11/11/2021 09:19

Hope everyone is doing ok, and I haven’t killed this thread!!
We’ve all had some kind of sickness / bug this past week and I’ve been on antibiotics so the diet has taken a pause. Chocolate and carbs have reentered the chat…oops.

Weighed myself yesterday and the scale hasn’t moved thankfully. So still at a 7.5lb total loss.
Hopefully a more positive week.
How’s everyone doing?

Lonzo · 11/11/2021 10:47

Hi @WildePozy, hope you’re all feeling better now. I’m in week 3 of 5:2 version of Fast800 and scale hasn’t moved this week... I stopped calorie counting (tho stayed low carb) during a family visit, and am also a bit premenstrual, so maybe some water retention.

So week 1 - 5lb (!)
Week 2 - 2lb
Week 3 - no change

I am getting on top of the snacking (at least in the mornings), but think I need to keep quite strict on calories (no extra dollops or cottage cheese / yoghurt / PB) to keep up the loss.

Good luck to everyone for the rest of the week!

Drinkwinewithme · 13/11/2021 22:08

Update, had lost a brilliant 5lbs in 3 weeks despite a cold. Now I've since had a family celebration involving sugar drug addiction and am here to repent . Will weigh tomorrow, then to ween off Sunday, on to zero Monday. Will update 2/3 times if you don't mind as needing to log in to stay on trackHalloween Blush

Drinkwinewithme · 14/11/2021 09:09

I'd actually miscalculated having had lost 6 lb up until this weekend. Gone up only 1lb and so not so bad. Gone from 12.9 , now 12.4, have to focus on hitting the 12 stone, full pelt as next potential ruination in two weekends time.
Plan to remember 3 litre, abstain from sugar , beige foods, keep to 800.
Anyone else got any plans for the week?

WildePozy · 15/11/2021 10:56

@Lonzo 5lb loss in your first week is so good, and only doing it the 2 days as well. Amazing! How has your weekend been?

@Drinkwinewithme Such a good loss, and especially when you’ve only gained a lb despite a slip up.

The sickness has continued in our household. We pretty much isolated all last week as my LO was so poorly, and then I’ve been feverish and a sore throat since Saturday night. Luckily a negative Covid test but still feeling retched.
On the plus side I have no appetite so I’ve not gained any, but retaining water so feeling the bloat.
Honestly I’ll be glad when all these bugs bugger off and I can crack on!!
I feel like even though I’ve lost over half a stone I want to do a solid 12 weeks start to finish, and so I may restart the clock so to speak once I’m feeling 100% again.

Lonzo · 15/11/2021 16:00

Thanks @WildePozy. I think the online / 12 week version of 5:2 is really good because it’s calorie controlled even on the non-fast days, so you’re not just reliant on those two days for weight loss.

Really sorry about the continued illness.

I had lost another 1lb when I weighed myself this morning so it’s good to get moving again after a maintain last week.

And @Drinkwinewithme it sounds like 12st has is very much within reach! Hope you have a good week.

WildePozy · 23/11/2021 18:45

Hi all!
Quick check in - a much better week, down another 2lbs, and another inch off my waist.
Feeling better in myself too now that I’ve delved back in.
How are you all getting on?

professionalcockney · 12/12/2021 21:27

Please can I join? I need to lose 2 stone.

I am planning my meals for tomorrow. Think I will skip breakfast and have bean and chicken salad for lunch with a proper dinner but not sure what yet. I have some tomato / Ragu type sauce that needs using... any ideas??

H0twaterbottle · 13/12/2021 11:43

Hello, I'd like to join too please.

I've been following this (loosely with some social events thrown in) and have lost 6lbs in 2.5 weeks.

Getting back to it today after a weekend off plan and struggling a bit to motivate myself. I plan to do this until Monday 20th and then have a week off over Christmas.

Have had a coffee (cappuccino) and just thinking about what to eat for the rest of the day.

H0twaterbottle · 13/12/2021 11:44

How are you getting on @WildePozy?

WildePozy · 13/12/2021 12:44

Welcome @professionalcockney
and @H0twaterbottle ! The thread was feeling a little quiet in here so nice to have some new faces.

I’ve been doing generally good and have actually enjoyed doing it!
I started in October, and despite having the odd cheat weekend and a few bottles of wine here and there I’ve managed to lose just under a stone, I’m 1.5lbs away to be exact from it!
I think if I’d upped my water content and slipped the alcohol I could have definitely achieved more.

In terms of meal planning @professionalcockney - I tend to just stick to a few simple recipes from the fast 800 selection. I use the YOUmagazine website for inspiration. The roast pork with root mash is a favourite.
Best of luck to you both, and hope we all survive the Christmas binge!

professionalcockney · 13/12/2021 12:48

Thank you for the YOU magazine tip!

Well done on your weight loss so far. I'd be happy with a stone off right now, feel so round and not like myself 😔

WildePozy · 13/12/2021 13:41

www.you.co.uk/fast-800-recipes-parma-pork-with-squash-mash/

Here’s the link to the one I use, and you can search various others through that link then. I have so many cook books that I couldn’t bring myself to buy another.
I think you’ll be surprised when you start how quick the weight will come off. It really does feel motivating seeing that scale go down!

H0twaterbottle · 13/12/2021 14:23

Fingers crossed for that last 1.5lbs @WildePozy!!!

Finding today tougher as have had an indulgent weekend. But feeling determined. Just making some ratatouille for lunch.

@professionalcockney I know exactly what you mean. I feel so fat and bloated!

professionalcockney · 13/12/2021 15:19

@H0twaterbottle what's your start weight? I'm around 12 stone 😢

WildePozy · 13/12/2021 16:34

Thank you, it’ll be a miracle if I get it off before Christmas though.
I forgot to say, I’ve gone gluten free and I do 18:6 fasting as well, so I don’t eat any breakfast and usually have my first meal around 1pm. I think this has helped majorly

H0twaterbottle · 14/12/2021 20:50

Sadly a little bit heavier than you, about 13 stone when I started. @professionalcockney Confused

Hoping to lose a stone at least. I've lost 6lb of that (but undoing the weekends damage this week I think) so aiming just to maintain that loss over the festive period.

professionalcockney · 14/12/2021 21:07

@WildePozy can you give me an example of a days menu eating gluten free and 800 cals?

Ive just finished day 2. Ended day 1 on just over 1000 cals, and today 989. May make it to 800 tomorrow 😂

H0twaterbottle · 15/12/2021 19:20

Closing the kitchen today on 1000 calories including 200 on a chocolate bar Xmas Confused so a bit over but have done lots of walking.

I find it easiest to replace breakfast with coffee and then have a small lunch and a relatively normal dinner (low on the carbs though). Also bulk up on lots of veg.

How have you been doing today @WildePozy and @professionalcockney?

professionalcockney · 15/12/2021 23:23

I ended on 1200 cals 😳

WildePozy · 16/12/2021 13:09

@H0twaterbottle I actually had a rough day, woke up with a migraine and then nausea and vomiting. Think it was a 24hr thing, as I feel ok today. It knocked another lb off the scale but I’m sure it’ll be back by tomorrow.

@professionalcockney
So until around 1pm I’ll have just water (around a litre) and coffee.
Lunch would either be an egg frittata - so 2 eggs, some ham/bacon, spring onions and tomatoes with lots of kale or spinach cooked in a little oil.
Or
Chicken wrap, using a gluten free high protein wrap that I buy at Tesco. I put some spinach and a tsp of Mayo in.
Dinner is usually just some kind of meat and lots of veg. So last night I had chicken thighs with roasted vegetables and a dollop of pesto.

If I have space leftover for calories I usually have a couple of squares of dark chocolate.
Or if I’m having a higher calorie dinner, say 500-600 calories, I’ll swap out lunch for Greek yoghurt with berries and pumpkin seeds.
