Happily starting a new thread as the other is almost full!

Perhaps useful to go over our stats:
Current weight: 10 stone 3lbs
Starting weight: 11 stone 4.5lbs
Weeks on Fast 800 Diet so far: 6

Re-emerging into socialising has been quite the test!

There's a 15% discount on the Fast800 website so I've ordered the shaker, vitamins and two of the bags of shakes.

I'm about to head into the busiest month of the year at work so I need to have no excuses or I'll be back into snatched lunches from Pret or comfort eating in the evening!

Hi all,
I’ve been quietly following you all and reading this thread for the last 10 days, and decided to start the Fast800 exactly one week ago. A bit ambitious as I knew I would have little say over my food for 4 meals (4 restaurant meals), but I’m glad I tried anyway, and I managed to stick to the fast times every day, and the 800 calories for 6 of the days.
I’ve found your messages really inspiring and I’m looking forward to shedding these extra 50lbs.

Anyway, week one results: 5.6lbs down

Tinselandlights · 28/08/2021 11:32

Amazing work @BigMamaLosing! How do you feel?

OP posts:
BigMamaLosing · 28/08/2021 12:27

Thanks @tinselandlights Smile
I had quite a few low-key headaches during the first three days, but I’ve been keeping my water above 2l and added slightly more salty foods (mainly some feta to my salads) which seemed to help. Hunger isn’t too bad, surprisingly. Twice I was on the hunt for snacks, so I had a bit of cheese and went for a walk. My main goal this week is to make sure my carbs reduce though, as I’m pretty certain I wasn’t below 50g with my meals out

Tinselandlights · 28/08/2021 17:11

@BigMamaLosing cheese and a walk sounds like a brilliant solution!

I've been having quite a few carbs over the summer and it's not good for my waist! Time to cut them down I think.

We ate out for lunch, I had heritage tomatoes on toast and an oat flat white, it was nice actually and didn't feel lacking. I am nicely hungry now.

OP posts:
BigMamaLosing · 28/08/2021 20:18

@tinselandlights that sounds yummy!

Carbs are my weakness. I always want more, so this week will be interesting. My OH was supposed to join me on Monday, but an insane amount of crisps, chocolate, and cake bars just turned up, and my favourite, sticky toffee pudding Confused I think I’ll be walking a lot this week!

LotsOfTrees · 28/08/2021 20:58

Sticky toffee pudding is a favourite of mine too! You’re doing really well to keep going this week despite all the temptation.

Tinselandlights · 28/08/2021 21:07

My Fast800 shakes arrived today! I was dorkily excited!

I was intrigued by what they would taste like as the reviews aren't great but I had one for dinner and it was nice! It is a bit like when you have flaxseed or porridge in a smoothie. Nice and chocolate-y though. I want to just package off some mealtimes so I don't have to think about them too much.

I had it at 6pm and it's now 9pm and I'm not hungry at all. I went for chocolate, but I ordered a bag of the coffee one too.

OP posts:
BigMamaLosing · 29/08/2021 12:06

Thanks @LotsOfTrees I’ve put it in the freezer so hopefully I can resist it for longer

@tinselandlights I was put off by the negative reviews too, but sometimes a shake is the quickest way to stop snacking. I work 10.45am-1.45pm, so when I go back to work on Wednesday I’m slightly worried about fasting until after my shift, as it’s quite a physical job (I usually do 6,000+ steps during that time, and don’t really get a chance to hydrate). So let me know about that coffee one, as that might be something to make up before I leave the premises Smile

Tinselandlights · 30/08/2021 10:42

@BigMamaLosing I can reveal the coffee shake is actually quite nice! The texture is as though there is ground nuts in there but the taste is really nice - like those coffee cans you get in a boots meal deal!

I have had a shake at 8am, then a personal training session this morning and am not yet hungry!

BigMamaLosing · 30/08/2021 11:16

Thanks @tinselandlights I might put an order in then Smile

LotsOfTrees · 31/08/2021 21:07

I’m grateful to be back in the swing of things more or less and almost back to where I had got to weight loss wise. Things are about to get extremely busy at work though for me too & I know that will be a challenge.

Sesame salmon for dinner tonight which is now one of our regular dinners. I need to set aside time to plan ahead for meals again.

Here comes September…! Good luck all!

Tinselandlights · 01/09/2021 07:16

@LotsOfTrees same here, September is a very busy month in my industry. I've ordered the shakes in part so I can just put that part of my day out of my mind and have a balanced meal in seconds. I think it'll help me stay on track.

Tinselandlights · 02/09/2021 16:14

I had a shake for dinner last night as I was running out of the house to have my hair done. I'd already had a shake for breakfast too.

I was a bit hungry late last night but thought I'd just go to bed anyway. I thought I'd be ravenous this morning but I slept really well and was absolutely fine! I wasn't too hungry this morning so I feel like I learnt a lesson about my appetite in there!

BigMamaLosing · 03/09/2021 10:15

Glad to hear things are going well with the Fast shakes for you both. Definitely tempted after hearing how you both got on with them.

Today is my first day back at work in 6 weeks, and I’m really nervous about fasting until after work. At least it’s just one day though, so I can see how it goes and then think about tweaking my fasting hours if needed. Weigh-in day tomorrow too!

Tinselandlights · 03/09/2021 21:30

We had a pub tea tonight as my DD had her first day at school and was desperate to go for a sundae at the local family pub with a play area!

I had a salad and felt quite proud of myself as I stopped eating when I was full rather than stuffing myself beyond the point of fullness!

OP posts:
BigMamaLosing · 04/09/2021 14:16

That sounds lovely, and well done for stopping eating earlier too!

I’m a bit nervous as I have a work meal in 2 weeks time, and it’s a five course Indian meal. I’ve looked at the menu and picked the most veggie-laden and healthiest ones, but it’s going to be a big meal/splurge compared to what I’m currently doing.

Anyway, week two weigh in: a 6 lb loss (11.6 lbs total on the Fast800)

Tinselandlights · 05/09/2021 16:24

Well done @BigMamaLosing!

I did something totally unusual for me yesterday - I'd eaten out at lunchtime with my DSis, and decided to myself I'd have an evening meal if I got hungry... and I didn't! So I just didn't eat anything for the rest of the day.

Way over 800 calories but still worthwhile to do!

Hope it's ok for me to slip back in.
I am an old timer, was on the first 13+ threads with NewBear, who I know is taking a break.

Tinselandlights · 06/09/2021 19:40

I remember you from earlier threads @Oblomov21!

Welcome back!

Thanks you kindly OP.
I really need to get back into it.

BigMamaLosing · 07/09/2021 09:33

Nice to meet you @Oblomov21

BigMamaLosing · 07/09/2021 09:36

I had to tweak my fasting times. I massively overdid it at work yesterday and felt ill for the rest of the day. The heat probably doesn’t help, but with 6 weeks off, I’d forgotten just how physical the job could be, and my body is still getting used to the diet. I won’t be making that mistake again, so off to have some pre-work food now ☺️

Tinselandlights · 07/09/2021 21:56

This heat is crazy @BigMamaLosing!

I've been tired today - had PT with a shake before and yoghurt afterwards but I have felt weary all day!

Also been craving the beef rendang from the book!
