Another -2lbs off for me this week. I've been listening to The Secret World of Slimming Clubs podcast which is really funny - one of them does the Fast800 on and off and is restarting if anyone wants to listen!

Well done @tinselandlights

The podcast sounds good too. I’ll give it a listen later today. Hope the rest of your week goes alright

Tinselandlights · 09/09/2021 22:06

Thank you!

Had an insanely busy day, ended up having shakes for both breakfast and lunch.

Saved me hundreds and hundreds of calories, though, as I'd normally have had a coffee shop sarnie, crisps and probably a coffee or a ginger cordial too.

Instead I had the coffee Fast800 shake, itsu wasabi seaweed, an apple and an orange.

Week 3 weigh in - 0.6lb gain 😂
Still an 11lb loss overall. Hopefully this coming week will be better though

tinselandlights · 11/09/2021 16:01

@BigMamaLosing week three is nearly always a no loss or minimal loss week as it's when your body starts to take notice!

LotsOfTrees · 15/09/2021 18:28

Keep going @BigMamaLosing - you’ve done so well overall! Hope you see a loss in week 4!

A bit late with this comment but I’m keen to try the beef rendang @Tinselandlights. It’s not one I’ve tried before. Any tips or do you follow the recipe exactly?

Really busy September for me and I’ve been rubbish at meal planning so trying to do better from tonight at planning ahead.

tinselandlights · 16/09/2021 19:22

I followed it pretty exactly, and served it with broccoli - it was genuinely delicious! Might have licked the dish...

Another 1.5lbs off this week for me. That's the fourth week in a row I've lost weight, 5.5lb since the end of august. I'm just 4.5lbs off a normal BMI now!

I know I keep banging on about the shakes but they are genuinely saving my weight loss - I am frantically busy at work and being able to fill my shaker with powder before I run out of the door and just have that at breakfast time rather than go to the cafe in the building is incredibly useful.

Hi can I join please?
I've been reading this thread and feel like I know you all already!
I have started reading the book and have a rough idea of the principles.
I will weigh and measure this weekend.
Currently feeling very unhealthy and eating stupid amounts of sugar and rubbish.
I really need to sort my shiz out!

MercedesBenz · 18/09/2021 14:45

How is everyone getting on?

I had a work do last night so used the opportunity to do a bit of fasting (as in, I just didn't have any dinner).

This morning I had two eggs, smoked salmon and spinach for breakfast.

Has anyone pre-ordered the Fast800 keto book?

Hi everyone - after the 3 most stressful months of my life I need to come back and shed at least 20lbs but also all the horrific carb habits I've picked back up. Haven't weighed myself yet this morning but I'm going to make myself. As soon as the stress hit I dropped all exercise, and due to circumstances (hospital visits, property nightmares, work ramping up) started eating so much convenience food and drinking every night.

I've literally been thinking about doing Fast800 again for 3 weeks but I just can't motivate myself to do anything. My body aches, my clothes don't fit, I can feel the new fat getting in the way and my mind is so foggy and all over the place but I just lack some serious motivation. Hoping coming back here will help me focus and hold me accountable. I lost 50lbs doing this 2.5 years ago and I haven't put it ALL back on but I have a major event I need to lead for work in 6 weeks where I'll be on stage in front of hundreds of people and there will be loads of photos taken and I just want to feel confident and not hate myself.

I'm going to menu plan for the week today and do an online shop, hopefully that will help me focus and at least take a few baby steps towards my goal!

PhoenixMama · 01/10/2021 10:07

*need to shed 20lbs Hmm Wish it was already gone!

1Adeline · 02/10/2021 05:29

Good morning everyone - hope it’s ok to join.
I did a version of fast 800 about three years ago and lost nearly 5 stone over 18 months. I used to read the posts on here back then - recognised your name Phoenixmama! - but was never quite brave enough to post. I’ve put nearly two stone back on - entirely ridiculous eating, no excuses - and badly need to get a grip again.
This forum used to inspire me so much - so this time I’m going to post like crazy to get back on track. Your post stuck such a chord with me Phoenixmama - I’m also achy, clothes don’t fit right, feeling fat. And I hate not feeling in control of food - I’m definitely back to carbs being in control of me.
I will weigh this morning and spend sometime digging out my old recipes and planning - quite excited to get back to it!

1Adeline · 02/10/2021 07:31

Food for today planned - quorn peppered steak with two eggs, grilled tomatoes and mushrooms for brunch, and cheesy tuna Mayo later - tuna, Mayo, onions, olives, edamame beans and sprinkle of cheddar, heated through so I can pretend it is a tuna melt panini. An old favourite! Enough calories left for several coffees - when I did this before I managed to get used to black coffee for a while, but never really liked it - I will work up to that again gradually.

I’m starting today at 12st13.8 - quite surprised I wasn’t a few pounds more, I certainly deserve to be after the amount of biscuits I’ve eaten over the last few weeks. I’m aiming to average out at 1.5 lb a week loss, which should get me to where I would like to be just before I turn 50 in January. I’d love to be a good weight for me by then, but just as importantly, I want to feel back in control of my eating by then.

What apps or websites are people using to track food and weight? I can’t decide whether to go back to the ones I used before or to start fresh with something else.

1Adeline · 03/10/2021 07:31

Morning - first day was good in terms of low calorie intake, but not for expected reason! I think I’ve come down with the cold bug that’s going round - both kids have been ill with it in the last couple of weeks - so with sore throat and streaming nose by lunchtime, all I wanted to do was drink herbal tea. Only about 500 calories - brunch and coffees - and still not feeling hungry at all. A rather unrealistic 3.5lb down from yesterday morning!
The plan today - same brunch, as and when I’m hungry, and probably the tuna melt that I skipped yesterday. Also hopefully meal prep for next weeks’ lunches - meatballs, chickpeas and veg in tomato sauce in the slow cooker, to eat with salad.
Hope everyone’s weekend is going well.

1Adeline · 03/10/2021 07:36

@Tinselandlights, I think I might preorder the keto book. I fished out my old blood sugar and fast 800 books yesterday to re-read and they do inspire me - timely reminders of all the reasons this is a good thing to do, beyond just clothes feeling comfortable! I never really used the recipes though, but reading back on this thread and seeing that lots of people here do use them, I’m going to have another look.
Which recipes would people recommend? I have the blood sugar diet book and cookbook, and the fast 800 book.

PhoenixMama · 04/10/2021 09:57

Morning! For some reason I'm not getting message notifications so probably a good time to make sure I check in everyday. Didn't get a chance to weigh myself this morning but think I'm around 14 stone and want to be 12 (I'm 5'7) Ate terribly over the weekend but that was more around activities and visits that had already been planned.

Today plan is 2 eggs at 11am, soup at 3 and dinner of pork chops, peaches and spring greens at 7ish.

I really like the Jamie Oliver 5 Ingrediants book - loads of things far too carby but also often really easy substitutions (like courgettie for spaghetti, etc)

PhoenixMama · 04/10/2021 13:53

I'm craving carbs and sugar so much! It's slightly scary how much my body wants them! Or thinks it does!

JosieGrossie · 04/10/2021 15:08

Hi all, is it okay if I join? I'm awful at dieting but feel motivated and have started planning my meals and looking at recipes, so that's one thing done at least! I am awful with carbs and sugar, and really overweight so I need to do something serious about it.

PhoenixMama · 04/10/2021 15:32

Hi @JosieGrossie - welcome!

1Adeline · 04/10/2021 17:28

Your dinner sounds gorgeous Phoenixmama!

I think I had that Jamie Oliver cookbook at one point but I had a bit of a purge and got rid of loads. Might try to look for a copy again if things are easily converted to lower carb. I have been browsing the blood sugar diet book and like a few of the recipes in there - the simple stuff sometimes that I haven’t thought of, like making sardine dip with sardines and cream cheese. I’m not very creative in the kitchen and always need ideas! Also I only really cook for myself - my kids are older so eat at weird times and prefer to just cook for themselves most of the time anyway. So I don’t have much incentive to do anything very fancy. I should really try a bit harder with new recipes.

I’m showing as 4lb down since Saturday morning - lots of water I think, and I have a stinking cold so not much inclination to eat anyway. I have had a small salad with prawns, and some meatballs and veg. About 600 cals I think - not deliberately, just not much appetite.

Hope everyone has had good days!

PhoenixMama · 05/10/2021 09:23

Well done on 4lbs @1Adeline! I'm down 2lbs this morning which I feel like I don't deserve lol but I'll take. I'm making the Cauliflower Cheese from the MM books (can't remember which one - think BSD) It's a family favourite because it feels so creamy and the jalepenos give a bit of a kick.

The rest of the week are going to be a challenge - working lunch out today (hoping for soup!) and then out of the house for the rest of the week but hoping to bring my own food! Then I'm away for a week but I figured if I don't start ever I won't lose ever so will have to adapt. next week drinking is going to be an issue but will try!

PhoenixMama · 05/10/2021 09:36

Also I'm making myself do my Yoga with Adriene for at least 20 mins first thing and I'm amazed how much it helps me focus and keep on track. It sounds wanky but it really does ground me and I need to remember that and make sure I keep it because it makes me feel SO much better.

1Adeline · 05/10/2021 10:18

Had a look at the the cauliflower cheese recipe in the bsd recipe book Phoenixmama - sounds really good. Might even be able to persuade my son to eat that - he’s not really into veg but loves bacon and jalapeños! Do you use both ricotta and creme fraiche as it suggests?

Yoga with Adriene is great - I’m too lazy to do more than one session at the weekend but always feel better for it.
