Made the miso aubergine with carrots from the main book - it was yummy! All washed down with an ice cold glass of water Hmm

Kayemm · 21/07/2021 20:51

@vestastilly I love that recipe. Definitely one of my favourites

Missedopportunity · 22/07/2021 00:08

Did you make that pizzaiola, @Kayemm? I've had that recipe on my phone for ages but never done it. How did it go?

I hit my 1st loss today. Hoorah. Still got another 3st to go. Boo. My fat cells aren't doing any dancing, lol, but I'm trying to whack them as hard as I can now because we're away next week and although I'm not going to go mad, I'm not going to be anywhere near as strict as I have been. Cooee, scones, I'm coming looking for you. Mnum delish. 😋

H1Drangea · 22/07/2021 09:58

We went to the beach last night and had a swim in the sea !
Was lovely , still so hot here though I was still sitting outside last night til 10pm
I’m planning pulled pork tonight ( ie shove it in the oven and let it cook itself ) and we have broccoli , beans , courgettes and lettuce in abundance in the green house
That will make a nice dinner ✅🌞lots and lots of water , though my local Tesco is out of the cheap ( 17p for 2 litres ) sparkling water that I usually buy

Linguine1 · 22/07/2021 12:33

Hi everyone, I’m still here but not doing well diet wise, 6th day in a row at 31 degrees. I know it’s Heaven for a few people like my Greek friend but Celts like me just feel sick.

I made a couple of things from the easy recipe book, pork with mustard and creme fraiche and halloumi baked courgettes, both were nice. Unfortunately I have been drinking ice cold wine alongside and bread has sneaked in. Bit of a fail all in all. I will try to knuckle down again.

Westchesterarms · 22/07/2021 12:41

Haha, Linguine, I hear you. What is it about this heat that makes you want bread?! I don't just want a thin slice, I want a whole blinking loaf of date and walnut bread slathered with butter. Mmm.

Just enjoy what you've had, put it down to a little holiday, and get back on track. You can do it.

H1Drangea · 22/07/2021 21:55

Hi @Linguine1 , I’m a Celt too , but I think I must have been a farm worker in a previous life as I’m fine in the heat !
Still 28° here ( nearly 10pm ) we’ve had some thunder and a power cut , still no rain though
The green , green grass is looking a little brown and crispy

Kayemm · 23/07/2021 16:52

@Missedopportunity - not yet, the day we planned it for we had no water (aaarrrggghhh) due to the gas men digging in the next street so defrosed some veggie bolognaise. It's either tonight or tomorrow.

I'm a menopausal ginger, me and hot weather are sworn enemies.

Missedopportunity · 23/07/2021 20:50

No water!! In this weather! Hope it was soon rectified. Mind you, we're off to Scotland next week and looking at the weather forecast, I wouldn't mind a little less water. More like this ☔, than like this. ⛱

loveyouradvice · 24/07/2021 00:29

Hello.... gently dipping my toe in the water, inspired by wanting to lose 20 lbs in the 9 weeks before my college reunion. At my last one 10 years ago, everyone exclaimed how great I looked - and yes at 5.8 and a curvy 11 stone 4 lbs, I felt fab.

I know its, superficial but I reckon it's a goal that will inspire me - I'm now 13 stone 11lbs, and have lost the same 12 lbs several times since the first lockdown and I'm back at the high end. Oops....

So Fast 800 in an eight hour window most days, here I come.....

Looking forward to getting to know you all - to cheering you on when things are going well - and consoling when things havent gone quite as planned....

Kayemm · 24/07/2021 19:22

Hello @loveyouradvice your target is the same as mine, 20lb in 8 weeks.

That will tip me into an overweight BMI before my holidays. I had lost 9lb on my week 3 weigh in last week so I'm on track and finding it amazingly easy. Even the not drinking and that's from someone who loved gin/wine/whisky/cough medicine Grin

nordica · 24/07/2021 19:46

Hi! I've been here before but fell off the fasting/Med style diet wagon in a big way during lockdowns. I really need to get back on it ASAP and lose the weight I gained.

My interim goal is to lose a stone in the next 5 weeks, which should be do-able I think. Would ideally like to lose about 3 stone in total to get me back to where I was a couple of years ago thanks to 5:2. I have some lovely clothes I no longer fit into! I've ordered some of the Fast 800 shakes to help me get started (I know they get mixed reviews but I quite like them - so easy when busy, too).

Anyway, will try to post regularly for accountability. Smile

MercedesBenz · 24/07/2021 22:38

@nordica and @loveyouradvice

Welcome , hope you both have a great first week

Everyone here is very helpful so any questions just fire away

Me , I’m still maintaining ( aka eating whatever ) not gaining but not losing .

loveyouradvice · 24/07/2021 23:58

Thank you for the lovely welcomes... yes I'm looking forward to the first week as that's usually the biggest loss which is so motivating!

Mercedes maintaining sounds great and powerful
Kayemm - We'll get there together! Very exciting and hope we're both very successful. Rather nice to have someone pacing me for these weeks.

Nordica - yes that's one of the things I'm longing to do - so many beautiful clothes I can't wear and am longing to get back into!

Missedopportunity · 25/07/2021 01:37

It's 1.30 and I can smell toast. I've been able to smell it for 2 hours. It smells hot and buttered. There's no one else in the house, and even if there were, there's no bread in the house. Because if there were, you know what I'd be doing, stuffing my face with it, that's what. Agh, if I'm having a food fantasy, surely I can do better than toast!!

H1Drangea · 25/07/2021 07:31

It’s only 7-30 on Sunday morning and I’m starving ( and want toast now glares crossly at @Missedopportunity ) I woke at 5 ish and couldn’t go back to sleep so I got up and did loads of ironing ( have Airbnb cottage and loads of bedding to iron but it’s been too hot )
Hoping to get out for a walk somewhere today , and roast chicken dinner tonight with lots of greens
Will see what the day has to offer , been promised storms and rain for the last couple of days … still waiting !

Missedopportunity · 25/07/2021 12:39

@H1Drangea Oops, sorry. 🤭

Kayemm · 26/07/2021 15:55

Where are all the Monday weighers?

weknowfrogsgotralalalala · 26/07/2021 16:22

So officially back on it today after the week of birthday celebrations.

I attempted a HIIT workout this morning before breakfast with my 3 year old. He had other ideas, which mainly involved getting in the way, demanding cuddles and sitting on my back during plank 😂

H1Drangea · 26/07/2021 16:28

Completely forgot to weigh in this morning , well, I remembered when I was downstairs fully dressed and on my second mug of coffee , and it was too late then
Tuesday weigh in this week 👍

PhoenixMama · 26/07/2021 19:01

Hey everyone! Jumping back onto the thread because I want some accountability. Had a strong month after I left and then the last 4.5 weeks have been some of the worst of my life. My dd was hospitalized for a week, the house we were supposed to move into (rental) the landlord pulled out 11 days before the move and we were facing homelessness until the end of last week. Plus the heat and a couple of other disasters. I've put at least 10lbs on. The stress gets me every single time. My cortisol goes up and so does my weight.

We've got a holiday booked in just under 2 weeks and I just want to feel better in my own skin. I'm hoping I can lose at least 6lbs but ideally 10 (although I have a wedding 3 days before we go so that might derail me slightly).

I know what I have to do but feel so much better when doing it with other people! So I'm back!

LotsOfTrees · 26/07/2021 19:11

I didn’t weigh today @Kayemm after a not so healthy weekend. Welcome back @PhoenixMama. It sounds as though you’ve had a horrendous time of it and that you deserve that holiday! Hope this week is better.

I’m back on it today as a new week starts and am about to have sausage ‘lasagne’ for dinner which is probably my favourite recipe so a strong start to the week.

H1Drangea · 27/07/2021 07:14

Weighed this morning and … stayed the same
Annoying , but only myself to blame

Newname9 · 27/07/2021 08:12

Hi all! I hope you don't mind if I join you! I finished my first week yesterday and had a 7.5lb loss so really pleased as I feel like I've got rid of all of the rubbish! I want to lost 2 stone from here!

Kayemm · 27/07/2021 08:40

Hi @Newname9 and welcome - that is an amazing loss - really well done! Grin

@Missedopportunity, sorry realised I'd not replied to you, yes we made the cauli dish, it was lovely, however I read the commments so halved the cherry tomatoes and added a tin of chopped tomatoes.

@Phoenixmama, hope your dd is ok now Flowers, stress and worry are rubbish, I'm a comfort eater too, not one of those who can't eat if they are upset.

I'm half way in now, when I started it was 8 weeks to my holidays and now it's 4, eeek.

My week 4 weigh in gives me a 3.4 lb loss so 12.4 in total. I'm very thrilled as my 20lb in 8 weeks is looking quite acheiveable, in fact I'm considering aiming for 23 pounds because that takes me down to a nice half stone mark.

I've also lost 2 inches of both my hips and waist - still a long way off the recommended waist size for women but heading in the right direction - yay!
