Hi @BoozeHound Good to see you here! Absolutely incredible losses well done, though sounds like it's been a bit rough... Feel free to say more about food obsession. I think there is an element of... combatting or 'owning' the diet as a force for good and not a punishment, especially in a society that pushes a specific body type as the only way to be attractive and assigns morals to food groups (eye roll!). I wonder if you could let yourself have foods your obsessing about and see if that helps, just a slice of cake or piece of toast with honey or whatever it is that you're craving so very much. It's really helped me to move away from the deprivation mindset (coming to this with a history of an eating disorder) and reading up on the science behind it. Would def recommend the book, have you read it? I enjoyed it (I rented the audiobook from the e-library).
@Forfecksake17 Welcome!! I also am really learning a lot about protein and carb contents. I do feel like vegetarians (I'm a vegan) may struggle as pulses, which are the main source of my protein, are so high in carbs as well! I don't think they are allowed on a keto diet for that reason.
I agree Mediterranean, although killer to spell, sounds so much for delicious than low GI. I feel like I think of a sunny place, warm sea, salads and fresh fruit etc... Those Joe Wicks workouts are hard, don't undermine yourself! My toddler is so fit he can run around constantly without once being out of breathe.
Thanks @PhoenixMama it feels good and I count it as a bit of a victory as I feel like I was controlled a lot by food until recently. It's not even about self control but just taking a deep breathe and believing that there will be a time when I can enjoy pastries again, just right now I'm doing something else that has it's own 'sweetness' to it.I think there is something to do with water retention when you workout at first, as exercises causes little tears which cause inflammation in your muscle, please period... You'll get your whoosh no doubt. I have heard of plateaus happening, I think they are mentioned in the F800 book am I right on that? so hard to stay motivated though when the scales don't budge that's why I'm so scared of weighing regularly!
@texican well down on your loss- interesting to hear that a crispy treat didn't affect you, very nice actually as I don't plan on being on 800 kcal a day my whole life.
