Blood sugar diet thread 7

Here's thread seven for the Blood Sugar Diet followers.

It's 5 weeks and 5 days until school breaks up (may vary by region!) so let's get those bodies lean for Summer!

Continuing thread for Blood Sugar Dieters:
Phase 1 lasts 2 - 8 weeks and involves restricting calories to 800 a day. Eating healthy fats is encouraged as is limiting carby foods (no specific guideline on this but some people aim for under 50g), small amounts of complex carbs are allowed but should be balanced ideally with green veg, protein and fat to lower the glycemic load and reduce the effect on blood sugar.

Day Four and I'm wearing stuff I haven't worn all summer. Like I've had a tummy tuck! I know its water (I really, really do know its water from the gallons I've both drunk and 'flushed'. But who cares? Instant gratification of inches off and clothes miraculously fitting, just a few days in, is motivational golddust.

I don't do scales (too lily-livered). I do inches and clothes fit - but reckon I've a a pretty similar goal to you Flighty and with similar timelines (big event closely followed by family holiday in November)

Oooer A place - that rhubarb gin is the second most likely substance to seduce me off this wagon (I'm just praying no-one surprises me with a gift of Lindor praline balls). The pretty pink stuff tastes even better than it looks .... but (checks watch) you know that already right?

HourglassTigger · 27/08/2017 16:42

A place I was not casting aspersions about your resolve - that comment was more a reflection on my own Sunday afternoon habit.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 27/08/2017 17:24

Tigger well done on the nsv . You're right, I probably won't wait until I finish strictclub to try the gin. It's more likely, it will be opened before the end of the day Grin

HourglassTigger · 27/08/2017 18:13

Bear interesting about the 'Stevia'. Despite woefully straying from this fine way of eating for the best part of a year - I never reverted back to diet soda addiction. The mallet in the side of the head that used to be a constant irritant has become a rarity since I ditched them - I'd attributed that to a massive reduction in caffeine intake but now am wondering?

SpaghettiAlphabetti · 28/08/2017 07:27

that's a super loss!

Weekend was good and bad in equal measures. Straight back on it strict style today including going to the gym.

blueskyinmarch · 28/08/2017 08:01

Gained 1.2 kg on my weekend away. Back to strict club. We have nothing on the next few weekends so I can get a good crack at it no want to get below 80kg.

blueskyinmarch · 28/08/2017 08:01

I want not no want!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 28/08/2017 13:57

Just ordered a running machine, it's being delivered on 5th September! Very excited!

Been very good today so far, had Greek yog for breakfast and have had nothing since, resisted cake at Costa and decided to wait until we got home. Starving now though!

The 5th Sept isn't very long at all bear - I am excited for you!

tobee · 29/08/2017 14:30

Ooh we're gonna need a new thread soon Grin

Oblomov17 · 29/08/2017 16:02

This just came up on my Facebook feed. Starts 11th September.
Any good for anyone?
Might 'sign up' myself!!

I've considered it oblov but the cost puts me off a bit. I think it's about £100? The first/extra 4 weeks are like an initiation programme as well, so for absolute beginners.

Started the day well. Headache has returned, after 2 blissful days without it, so took paracetamol and ibuprofen just to function. Ended up eating white bread roll and a jammy dodger at about 4pm. I'm renaming strict club as 'shit club'

Oh well, will start again tomorrow!

Oh I see!! Expensive!! Naughty old MM!!

thenewaveragebear1983 · 29/08/2017 18:57

Yes, I was a bit surprised that it was as much as that, when the book is £3.50 in tesco! There is an online forum thing that you can access and other perks to the membership but I'd imagine an experienced bsd'er wouldn't reap so much benefit as a brand new starter.

I reckon we can do support as well as any FB group!

I've had an ok day - getting back to 800ish days after last week of being 1000 or so each day.

And I broke back through the stone barrier this morning too so the majority of my holiday gain has gone. YAY!!

SpaghettiAlphabetti · 29/08/2017 20:14

Has anyone tried red lentil pasta? Thinking of giving it a go....

SpaghettiAlphabetti · 29/08/2017 21:57

Finishing at 947. Lots of walking today and gym yesterday so hopefully that'll be ok.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 30/08/2017 08:48

Morning all. After yesterday went to weasel poo rat shit I am trying again today! Feel pretty 'meh' to be honest, due on so hormonal and didn't sleep well. Never a good combination, but I'm just going to try to fast and drink water as long as I can. Nice recipe for dinner tonight (found on Pinterest by searching for Paleo and low carb recipes, so we're having chicken cooked in garlic, lemon and cream.
