Thanks.

I've been drinking lots of water and have been non stop on the toilet today, not been like this since week 1.

zobalina77 · 25/03/2016 09:07

I am at the halfway point and have lost 4lb this week, so have made it to 1.5 stone. Really pleased that the scales moved by a pound this morning as I had been stuck the same weight the last 4 days. I am now hoping for another stone in the next 4 weeks.

Not2bObvious · 25/03/2016 09:17

Well done Zob, that's an amazing result, 21lb in 4 weeks is huge! Best of luck for your part 2 😉
Suffering this morning, had company for dinner & I had a little too much wine. I never sleep well after drinking so I've only had about 5 hours sleep. Lovely & sunny here this morning, tempted to go out for a walk, might blow away the cobwebs? I'll see can I peel myself off the couch.

Terrific result zobalina - absolutely amazing! I'm obviously one of those people who loses weight more slowly, but as long as I get there in the end I am hanging on in there, after all it's about health too!

Hope you are feeling better not2bObvious - we have now been invited to a neighbour's for Sunday lunch, so suspect Monday might be my bad day. Sunny here too, might go for a windy walk along the beach!

Laska5772 · 25/03/2016 12:00

Zobolina brilliant result! .. I havent quite made that inthe whole 8 weeks.. ,
Well all I am out onthe town again tonight .. we are going to Carluccios tonight, and then onto an party.. I may indulge in a slice of pizza or two ( but having not had any carbs of that sort since before I started this BSD , I shall look for an alternative.) .

Actually if there is an alternative I will probably go for it , In fact Im sure I will, as I keep having great NSDs , due to this WOE .. The best ones so far , have been that I can get back into all of my coats and jackets and do them up, AND have jumpers underneath them SmileSmile. It was the realiseation that id have to buy a new smart coat for a funeral , earlier this year , that made me finally face up to how big I had let myself go,,

I am really happy that i can get back into my slimmer clothes again ..Tonight is a 50s do and I have a pair of cigarette trousers and a boat neck top, a bit Audrey Hepburn (and even if I do say so myself , I reckon I look pretty good in them Wink) .

Also the great thing about this WOE is that most of the weight has indeed come off my stomach , I have lost 5 inches off my waist now inthe 8 weeks and also thst horrible 'tummy apron' has gone ( IFYSWIM) .. I really need to start exercising nagain now though to tone it all up (I hate exercising, especially crunches. walking is my thing, but it doesnt tone up the midriff. 30 day shred , is still in my DVD player, but I only did it for a week... Blush )

elfycat · 25/03/2016 12:37

Laska I know how you feel about your tummy.

Paradoxically I feel both thinner around my middle, and fatter now. I am slimmer - my coat belt has moved by a lot. I am more streamlined. In profile I go 'in'.

But... the tummy is now a wobbly, jiggly bump. At least before when I was fatter I was taut and fat. Need to work on that taut. I still want to lose another half a stone so more blobbiness to come.

yumyumpoppycat · 25/03/2016 12:39

Laska amazing well done fab work on reducing waist size, actually that must be a really good sign that you arent dropping too much lean mass? I dont think Carluccios do pizza laska - they do have amazing garlic bread though ...

Zoobalina that is amazing weight loss well done!

H3Graham just seen that pud ... AVERT YOUR EYES!!

Not2be hope walk did the trick.

Up a little today gah. Need to pull my socks up otherwise I will have stayed the same this week.

Star all round

Not2bObvious · 25/03/2016 13:18

Ooh Laska love the sound of your outfit, I'm a sucker for a boat beach top but I can rarely find them 😩 Carluccios...hmm pasta heavy I think but might do lamb chops? I have a vague recollection of some food like that. Have a lovely time
The walk is done thanks yum, bought jeans & a top vastly reduced in m&s, not sure if they'll fit but if they don't I'll just walk back tomorrow to return them. I'm so so tired but can't sleep, lying in bed reading BSD website posts (don't like the forum setup but lovely lovely people there and so encouraging- much like you lot😘)
I want to sleep til dinner, craving rubbish but I won't give in! Had bacon, egg, black pudding & mushroom followed by an orange for brunch. Only 5 hours til dinner

Hi! I am a bit stumped, have worked out that WoE means Way of Eating, but no idea what NSD is, sorry. Am always technically challenged like this.....

Laska when we used to live in town, the local Carluccio's did a couple of prawn & fish dishes that were pretty much on-diet, you won't have to eat pasta. Or salad. Sick of salad. Hope you have a great time!

I love 50's fashions (suits my figure....especially the big knickers...) and am well impressed that you are going all Audrey with your look tonight, am thinking Summer Holiday...... Which is also another motivation to resist woofing the bag of almonds which are beckoning to me, 1 or 2 = good, but not the whole sodding bag. Not sure why I am so hungry today, will be another very early dinner..... Pan fried skate wing ( tiny oil) with asparagus (Good Friday treat) spinach, garlic & mangetout. Sounds ok, but will miss the wine soooooo much!

yumyumpoppycat · 25/03/2016 16:09

H I think that might be a typo either for BSD (blood sugar diet) or NSV (non scale victory) ?

Not2bObvious · 25/03/2016 16:10

Nsv is non scales victory - not sure what nsd is, non scales something, possibly a typo?
I'd kill for a slice of toast - there, it's out of my head and in the air. I won't have one, but I want one. Just realised the super trendy jeans I bought were on the wrong hanger so I inadvertently bought a size 8 instead of a size 12 😥 Then a little part of thought...I have 5 weeks to bring them back, m&s size 8 is probably a 10, could I do it? Although when I hold them up my body goes out a good 2" either side,
What do you gals think?

OP posts:
yumyumpoppycat · 25/03/2016 17:32

I would prob ....take them back.....unless they really were a bargain, not saying a size 8 is impossible, this is probably the only diet I have ever done where an M&S size 8 (normal 10?) feels actually possible. Having said that I bought a bargain blouse from H&M online which was too big Shock ...but I kept it as had already taken the tags off.

H3l3naGraham · 25/03/2016 17:36

Ah ha NSV, got it!! Thank you :)

not2b - M&S jeans stretch, if yours have Lycra in them, trust me they will stretch, like their shoes do. I am virtually in 14s now, their pre-diet 20's + 18's (are now at the charity shop) and now my new 16's are slipping off, even with Lycra, honest!!! So if I can get my lardy bits into a 14 am sure that in 5 weeks, with some exercise and being, ahem, good, that your 8-10's will possibly even be a teeny bit baggy.......go for it!!!

yumyumpoppycat · 25/03/2016 17:44

You could always keep them for 27 days then see where you are Wink Grin

H3l3naGraham · 25/03/2016 18:33

Great idea yumyumpoppycat this = win win !!

Not2bObvious · 25/03/2016 19:30

Yep, they were a bargain, down for 34 to 13.50. Not too stretchy but I have 5 weeks to see can I do it 😁
If I eat like I did tonight there's no hope, hangover hunger/greed got me, ahh well it's done now. I have company for dinner tomorrow night & Sunday lunch, no end to food/drink this weekend. Weights in the morning/walk/shopping/baking/cleaning tomorrow - I think I may go to bed now, so freaking wrecked

Elvish · 25/03/2016 21:23

Checking in, evening all.

Thanks for the suggestion H, I had veal last night and ignored the spuds but I might try that chicken tomorrow night for round 2!

Had a day totally off plan today. Went out for the day to an extremely busy National Trust house. Lunch options were very limited and I was starving so I had a sandwich and crisps and half a scotch eggShock

Then as it had all gone wrong I had an ice cream, in a chocolate waffle cone ShockShock

And as we were back home late and DH is out I couldn't be bothered cooking, so I took the kids to KFC for dinner ShockShockShockShockShock

So, I'm going to try to be better tomorrow but I know this weeks weigh in will not be pretty Blush

Elvish · 25/03/2016 21:26

Oh, I'd keep the bargain trousers Not, cheep enough to have as a target size even if it's a little while before they fit.

Burgerbobismydad · 26/03/2016 08:32

Found you all!

Week 4 done and not a single pound loss. In fact I've gained 1lb. On 800 cals or less a day. Wtf.

Not2bObvious · 26/03/2016 08:53

Hi Burger! That sucks😞
Ok, if you ate 800 a day, you couldn't have gained 1lb, it's bloat/waste/fluid retention. Are you bunged up? Are you drinking your 2-3 litres of water? Did you eat anything v salty the last few days? I'd say check your calories but even with massive underestimation, you'd have had to eat and extra 500 a day on top of tdee to really gain a pound (so maybe 1900-2200'ish?) I doubt you did that. Or only other suspect is what you're seeing now on the scales is a reflection of 10 days ago, weight can catch up with us from previous sins...the bastard😁
Up to 11.9.6 from 11.9.2 on Thursday, that my friends was expected & deserved. Today will be better

OP posts:
Burgerbobismydad · 26/03/2016 09:07

I've stuck to this religiously for the past four weeks. I'm hoping I have a whoosh coming. Also I've been ill with a flu type virus (but not as bad as actual flu) this week so maybe that had affected things? How many calories in flu plus tablets? Grin

It's easter weekend and I'm not having any chocolate, but I am making a roast dinner. Can not wait for that later! (I will not have the Yorkshires obvs)

H3l3naGraham · 26/03/2016 09:38

Morning all! Looks like Not2B & Elvish weren't the only people misbehaving last night..... DH took one look at the skate & veggies I did for dins last night, said that looks pretty & it's Good Friday and produced a really nice bottle of white wine..... Oops.... So will be very mean with food today & go on a walk. (Note to self, must get more exercise, any exercise...)

Burger if you clock the actual BSD site (mind you there are masses of forums, simply masses) there are several people who have got stuck around the 4 week mark, you are not alone. All the feedback from the long-termers who have been on it for over 8 weeks, is what Not2b has said, drink more water (I am going through loo rolls at an embarrassing rate) & stick with it.

I feel your pain, on the Sirt diet everyone was losing shed-loads & by week 2 I had dropped a measly 1lb - had a hell of a job kick-starting my metabolism, which seemed to have taken a slow hike to Australia; you will get blips, but stay on in there!

Despite consuming industrial quantities of psyllium & water I am having issues with the loo..... But have still lost a further 2lbs, now a total of 20lbs, worth being constipated for.....Grin

Not2bObvious · 26/03/2016 09:53

Well done H3l, 20lbs is a significant chunk, I think you deserved a glass or 3 of wine with your v virtuous dinner. I've just put a cake in the oven that I'll just get to sniff 😖 But my reward will be watching people enjoy it, I love love love hostessing! Sound like a sad 50's housewife I know but I get such a kick out of having company over, eating yummy food and chatting. Love setting the table with nice dinnerware, shiny cutlery, linen napkins, good glasses. I'm being lazy though, this cake will cut tonight as dessert and then I'll hide the eaten section, put it on my cake stand facing out! I can't risk making 2 cakes, that would be too much temptation. On a 16:8 today, hope to do my weights session soon. V tempted to splash out on variable weights but at between €230-€340 it's quite the investment.

OP posts:
H3l3naGraham · 26/03/2016 09:58

Not2b - sounds wonderful, not sad at all. I have that image in my mind every time I entertain, but end up swearing at the pigging oven, getting all hot & sweaty, losing the plot over 1 course ( always 1 goes to pot) and then falling asleep on the sofa whilst my guests chat merrily to DH until the small hours, then I wake up raring to go and everyone is collecting their coats......

ROTFL!!!

yumyumpoppycat · 26/03/2016 11:00

Does sound lovely not2be - sadly my hostessing is more like H's!

Burger I had that too, there is defo a week around the 4 week mark which seems to be notorious across all diets for not losing any weight, I think this is where I usually think oh fuck it I might aswell eat what i like, but if you stick with it you should defo see the lbs drop again.

I have managed to lose my deserved weight gain lbs now and have actually lost a little since last sun so now I am 147.9 lbs which I am totally happy about Grin
