Just had a NSV, I managed to resist the toast at the library's bedtime story Star

I think white bread toast is one thing I'm really missing, it's so easy to finish off leftovers, but I was strong!

mootime · 26/04/2016 19:50

Well done Elvish!

So I'm not feeling as ravenous as I thought I would be having had lunch. Usually it spikes my insulin and I can't stop once I start.

No food in the house and DH out this eve so going to just have soup for supper.

Obs2016 · 26/04/2016 20:06

Yesterday and today I still haven't done well. So now it's 5 days I've been well over. I can't get back on it.
Fascinating about that re-heated pasta. I think I actually knew that. When I make lasagne, I make 2, and freeze the 2nd. I found I needed a lot less insulin for the freezer one, when I do heat it back up in the oven.

Laska5772 · 26/04/2016 20:19

Hello lovely BSDers ! I still seem to be having a holiday! but havent put any weight back on as eating pretty much to plan (no bad carbs though not actually counting calories) I have also got into a habit of missing meals also if I am not hungry .. (but am not being stupid about this )

However I do have to admit that some Wine and dark chocolate has crept back in..

Its been a fairly stressful time with work and some family issues (which will be on going as elderly parent and also some longstanding NC issues have reared their heads ) , but am not beating myself up about this ..

I have 9 weeks to holiday . and i'd like to lose another half stone before I go .. so I know that I need to get back onto it properly ..( I think the way back is to read and post again refgularly ) .. I still have my 19lbs loss though and I do love this way of eating..

How are you all doing .. ?I shall read back ..
Lxx

yumyumpoppycat · 26/04/2016 20:52

Well done elvish {whispers} the odd leftover kids crust does make it into my mouth sometimes Blush

Laska sounds like you sre doing really well!!

Obs I have had a stretch longer than that recently but think I have had 3 days in a row under 900 or so so keep aiming for 800 and even if it goes pear shaped a few more times you will get back on it soon.

clare8allthepies · 26/04/2016 21:58

Getting a bit fed up now, been stuck the same for a week now. Apart from wine-gate last Friday I've been under my 800 cals every day and usually under 30g carbs. Had over 200 cals to use for today so just had some nuts to get some more fat in to see if it helps.

So frustrating though, my DP is out tomorrow night and usually on the odd occasion he goes out I would treat myself to something yummy that he doesn't really like, probably Chinese themed and some nice wine. Salad and water just isn't quite the same!

Not2bObvious · 26/04/2016 22:32

Clare you've been following the plan to a tee, you're very likely due a whoosh. I'd say have the Chinese if you really want it, but know that anything like that might be salty & you might see a gain the next day Bbut it would only be water retention.
I have been ridiculously hungry today and have eaten to tdee but I am transitioning (sounds like I'm have a sex change!) to a less strict regime so I'm ok with that
Nice to "see" you Laska, super that you're maintaining. On phone now so can't name check but the poster who wanted to have a pizza to celebrate bmi result? I wanted to just say I think celebrations might be best kept until the loss is solid for a few days. I got to 11.2 and then ate my way back to 11.4-11.5 in joy. Haven't made it back to 11.2 four weeks later 😕

yumyumpoppycat · 26/04/2016 23:32

Clare its the perfect op for a fast rather than a chinese {gives self a Biscuit } you're not on week 3 or 4 are you? Things seem to go weird there for a bit then weightloss picks up again. If you do want a chinese what about a ready meal or home made one so you can be fairly sure of cals, have that and a glass of wine but be careful the rest of the day in anticipation and stick to tdee? Or go for the lowest carb option. So frustrating though when you should have had stacks of weight falling off but defo a whoosh must be about to happen like not2be says.

Obs2016 · 27/04/2016 07:50

Someone getting ready with a title for thread 3?

Obs2016 · 27/04/2016 07:51

We need to get organised. Set one up. Then put a link on this thread, to the new one.

clare8allthepies · 27/04/2016 09:02

It has to be BSD part 3 - ladies that lush surely! Grin

APlaceOnTheCouch · 27/04/2016 10:12

yumyum that's interesting that it goes weird around week 3 or 4. I've been stuck since about day 24. I have lost an inch even though my weight loss is sticking but I'll take heart that this is just an odd period and wait to come out the other end.

thenewaveragebear1983 · 27/04/2016 10:40

I've lost virtually nothing in week 3/4 , I was -11lb on day 16 and I'm hoping to be -14 today (day 29). I just think the initial massive loss sort of balanced out over the next few weeks, its probably to be expected and its still considerably more than i would have lost if I hadn't been doing it and still mainlining hobnobs but its reassuring to know that its a 'thing' and maybe I will get a reasonable loss when I weigh in.
Just walked a mile to tesco to buy some nappies and a mile back up a hill with the pushchair as its my 'rest day' hah from Jillian! Bloomin knackered now!

oolaroola · 27/04/2016 10:58

Just starting week 4 here today and finally after 2 days of being very strict about portion sizes I've dropped to 10.3
Thank god for that! So 8.5 pounds down in total after 3 weeks! Not exactly earth shattering but hopefully will get below the 10 watershed soon.

Before I started BSD I had done 3 weeks of trying to eat better so in total for the 6 weeks I've lost a stone.
Am aiming for another stone I think.

This weather is crazy April weather huh? One minute the sun's out and the next it's sleeting or sending down giant hail stones! And it's cold...brrrr. I don't often feel the cold but since calorie reduction have defo felt it much more.

APlaceOnTheCouch · 27/04/2016 11:19

Well done oolaroola ! A stone in 6 weeks is excellent.

clare8allthepies · 27/04/2016 11:21

Yeah, middle of week 3 here. I thought this morning that I had had a whoosh of nearly four pounds and then I moved the scales and gained 5! Sad definitely going to go out and buy new scales this afternoon.

Have decided to make myself a curry tonight and have it with the cauliflower pilau rice I got in Asda yesterday, I know if I splurge and go over my calories I will regret it tomorrow. May sneak in a wee gin and tonic as a treat though!

APlaceOnTheCouch · 27/04/2016 11:42

I need to buy some cauliflower rice. I haven't tried it yet. Tonight I am having barenaked noodles with goats cheese sauce. It's my equivalent to mac and cheese Grin

TooExtraImmatureCheddar · 27/04/2016 12:48

I am doing terribly. I have a night out tomorrow where there will be much Indian food plus wine, so I think it just doesn't seem worthwhile being good. Friday I'm meeting friends in the evening, but I'll be driving so won't drink. I'm not meeting them until 7.30 so I should eat before I go, really.

I think I need to focus on cutting portion sizes and ensuring I have a healthy snack for late afternoon. I tend to eat 2 meals a day - roughly 350 calories for lunch, a snack of about 60 cals (usually a Babybel) and 400 cals for dinner, so by the time I've added another 50 cals for milk in tea, I'm on 900. Will think about it.

Peasandsweetcorn · 27/04/2016 15:30

Hello. I have been absent & errant. A success at work, a family birthday, other family staying &, it turns out PMT, led to all sorts of carbs & sweet things being consumed. I have been back on it since Monday (although not perfectly - too many carbs and coming in at about 1000 cals and no where near enough water) and was delighted to weigh in this morning & see that I weigh the same as I did at the end of week one. Week three needs to be as good as week one was!
I'm going to go back & read all of your posts now.

mootime · 27/04/2016 16:40

Peas, that's good to have maintained.
Cheese, climb back on. It will be fine. Get the ought the next couple of difficult days and then you will be ready to jump back on with it. (She says wishing she could follow her own advice..)

So second day of eating more than once and I'm bloody ravenous. I had soup for lunch (200 cals) and now I've walked in the door and eaten a packet of ham, hummus and a baby bell. 250 / 300 cals gone just like that. And I am still starving.
Not sure what to do!!!

Not2bObvious · 27/04/2016 18:06

Drink water moo? Or a hot drink/stock soup? That might help keep it at bay for a bit. Another day of munching here too, not anything too bad though. I don't know what it's like weather'wise for you guys but it's cold here and that makes for major munchies

OP posts:
Obs2016 · 27/04/2016 18:36

Tricky moo. You do need something though.
I didn't start well today- mashed bananas and toast -500 calories. Oops.
Salad.
Courgetti and bolognese.
1000
Bugger. Will try harder tomorrow.

H3l3naGraham · 27/04/2016 18:51

On train. It takes c30 mins from when you eat for it to register with your brain. So hang on in there, 30minutes..... deep breath + wait your tum won't register for a while!

mootime · 27/04/2016 18:59

Thanks ladies. I have had three cups of tea!! But no more food (ok one spoon of kids curry)!
Day still salvegable - if I stay as low as possible.
May have celeriac carbonara this eve. Will be filling and yummy and only 500 more cals. So day will be just over 1000.
