Pilates, 45 minutes.

stilldumdedumming · 21/03/2026 20:22

Hi. I’ve been MIA but I’ve done a fair bit. Including swimming a mile for the first time since January.

Comtesse · 22/03/2026 08:36

Yesterday - 30m HIIT video, 8m jumping around, 9k steps.

stilldumdedumming · 23/03/2026 20:45

@comtessewhat form is your jumping around? I would like to rediscover some springiness.

Today was another mile swam. 45 minutes so not fast but no lasting pain. So I’m pretty pleased.

I'm back, hurrah! Whatever "flared up" has settled down again.
Celebrated with 60 x 25m swim.
62/300
I also need some "spring" or bounce back stilldumdedumming. I've spent 2 years nursing my left achilles and calf and as a result feel a bit "heavy legged" in dance classes now.

WearyAuldWumman · 24/03/2026 19:59

45 minute Musical Theatre Fitness class.
30 minutes Stretch class.

Booked into the Cowdenbeath class instead of Glenrothes, and I feel that the instructor (same person) is going easier on the Cowdenbeath group. (Getting booked into Glenrothes is nearly impossible.)

Oof today was core class (with a fair bit of upper body(, Pilates (with a fair bit of upper body), and yoga (with a fair bit of upper body!)

Managed 1/2 hour of Yoga with Adriene and two more C25k. Was going to look at going to a local yoga class but Adriene is just so convenient. Wild swimming is less appealing this week - it snowed a little bit today!

45 minute Senior Flex class, using bands and 3.75 weights.
Active for Life class: 15 minutes on the bike, side raises with 6kg weights, shrugs with 16 kg weights, farmer's carry with the same, biceps curls with 6kg weights and then 7kg.

My jumping around is really not very scientific! I saw a video on SM about jumping being good for energy levels/ improving mood/ circulation and I thought that sounded quite interesting, plus increasing cardio etc. I pick a high energy tune and literally jump up and down, chilling out when it’s a bit much or my knee hurts. Was worried about pelvic floor to start with but actually seems to be getting stronger.

I do find it improves my mood in the morning as well, actually - nice to start the day with a banging tune! It’s just a bit of fun, gets the heart rate up quite a bit. Not sure I’m ready for box jumps and all that, but never say never….!

WearyAuldWumman · 26/03/2026 15:37

Musical Fitness Theatre class, 45 min.

Lat pull, 22.5kg, ditto triceps. Biceps pull 26 kg.

I love the sound of the random jumping around!

One hour of hydro today. Tired now!

20m cardio dance today plus some jumping around to a great new song. Yesterday was 20 min yoga video and I was so knackered I fell asleep on the floor during shivasana and woke up an hour later!

stilldumdedumming · 28/03/2026 07:58

Wednesday hippy yoga
Thursday another mile swimming ever so slightly faster - not quite back there but definitely stronger!
Friday - lower body in my fun gym class.

I am feeling so much better at last. Just in time for camping and more physical stuff (I am tempting fate because every time I feel stronger I get injured or some other thing)

@comtesseI will need a decent bra but I am going to give it a whirl!

I only know this as I have been consistent since March 1st.

Daily 10 min stretch/tai chi/ squat/running uo and down stairs x4/plank combination ( glad nobody can see me 😆) Have incorporated a bit of jumping up and down too. Thank you @Comtesse

Normal activities get me at least 7k steps.

I try to walk briskly for at least half an hour, or do a walking workout ( harder than it sounds) most days.

Have yet to restart swimming and cycling.

WearyAuldWumman · 28/03/2026 11:47

Yesterday was a cheat day.

Normal stretches plus 20 minute brisk walk into semi-trot. (I'm not supposed to run, according to the knee specialist.)

WearyAuldWumman · 28/03/2026 23:34

Not a lot for Saturday.

3 sets of 20, worktop press-ups. Hope I'm doing them properly - we've only been doing wall press-ups at Senior Flex, etc. Got my chest right down to the counter top.

Some stretches.

Comtesse · 29/03/2026 12:07

Yesterday - 20 mins yoga, 30 mins walk with weighted vest, 10 min HIIT, 4 mins jumping/ dancing.

Today 30 mins jeffing (1st time since pre xmas), my knees have been bothering me but it wasn’t too bad. Might do a light weights workout later too.

Keep on keeping on…..

stilldumdedumming · 29/03/2026 17:33

Excellent on the press up front @WearyAuldWumman I have been doing them on my knees for a few months and they’re really improving and feel much more stable. I am going to try the stairs again soon.

Saturday morning with dp in our garage gym. It’s become a bit of a thing and really nice to do together. He’s disabled and so out time together is sometimes a bit too much him falling asleep in front of the tv.

a tiny bounce up and down. Jumping incoming! @Comtessewhat have you started!!

Oh I counted the Pilates ring session I have just did but forgot to mention it. Just found beginners video on you tube. Just the right level of challenge for me.

Alittlefrustrated · 30/03/2026 19:37
