I am trying a new thing. Getting straight out of bed and jumping around to a fave song then doing a cheesy walking video to make 20 mins in total. Literally jumping up and down - I think it’s tiktok thing. 3 days so far but I note I seem to be a lot more cheerful than on a usual morning.

Musical Theatre Fitness Class, 45 minutes

Cardio. A lot of abdominal work on the floor today - including crunches in time to music. Glute work. Stretches.

Gym - seated leg press. New machine seems harder...Tried 45. No chance. Thought knees would pop out. 35kg, 3 sets of 5.

Lat Pull: 22.5kg, 12, 11 and 10.
Triceps: 22.5kg, 15, 10, 10.
Biceps curls: 22.5kg, 15, 11, 12.

On the one hand, I'm not losing weight and I don't think I look much different; on the other hand, I think I can feel biceps. Maybe.

Hello. Can I join in?

I exercise 6 days a week.

today I did a 25 minute iFIT row and 3km run and then yoga.

I’m fighting back against menopause and trying to stay flexible

Happy Friday! I had hydro yesterday, I must have done some good work as I woke up aching. I’m off work for ten days so I’m hoping I can get some walks in and maybe some swims.

FurForksSake · 16/03/2026 19:58

Physio and thirty minutes of energetic gardening. Happy with that! Not sure the shrubs will survive my hacking, but I did it. Tomorrow I’m hoping I can get a 2 mile walk in. Watch this space!

Still having difficulty getting booked in for classes. However, it turns out that the MT/Stretch teacher is now taking classes in Cowdenbeath and I've been able to get booked in for both Musical Theatre Fitness and Stretch for next Tuesday.

I missed my pilates and swim because I woke up with painful joints and swollen fingers 😕 I seem to be "collecting" autoimmune disorders, and suspect this might be another rearing it's ugly head.

WearyAuldWumman · 19/03/2026 00:52

Wednesday 38

Senior Flex class. Used two 3.75 kg weights for seated upper body work, including seated chest press...but that only lasted for the first set. Had to go down to one to finish the chest presses.

Some wall push-ups, knee bends, squats, cardio.

Tretweet · 20/03/2026 19:02

Hope it’s OK for me to join! Have finally got capacity to try and exercise more and desperately need to - very overweight and getting less strong and flexible everyday it feels like.

This week I’ve done OK:

Tuesday - C25k run (end of week 4) and lots of walking

Wednesday - 3.5 mile walk

Thursday - Wild swim where it was warm enough to actually swim for the first time this year, rather than just dunking, a bit of walking.

Today - lots of housework and C25k week 5, run 1.

I need to introduce some kind of flexibility and strength in at some point.

@Tretweet welcome! What lovely activities you’ve been doing. I love that it was warm enough for you to swim today.

Hello @Tretweet 👋

Yesterday - 6m jumping around to old songs then 20m HIIT YouTube workout.

Signed up for a 5k in May too - I’m not a proper runner, maybe I’ll jeff it. It’s a work thing for charity - can I really look like a beetroot in front of my colleagues? Walking counts too if required….

Continuing to get steps in by using the walking videos, and have done a couple of 2/3 mile walks. I forgot I have some exercises from the physio last year so I have started incorporating those again.

@Tretweet I have wild water envy!

We are in spring now and I'm very hopeful of getting out and walking quite a lot more. I may venture into the gym at some point but I'm not really a lover of organised classes so not sure really. Perhaps I'll start riding my bike again.
