Apologies for being the starter, I saw we were on thread 999 and it needed doing quickly so the link could be shared!

This is a second thread for exercisers, a supportive place to share your fitness journey. Thread followers often post their number, this could be for the month or the year and a way of keeping track of the number of sessions they’ve done. Perhaps there is a goal and a reward, perhaps it’s just a way of tracking and encouraging. Whatever the reason, whatever the goal, you’ll find chat and support her. Not a competitive group, we are all exercising at our own levels and sharing the ups and the downs of trying to lead an active life.

Hooray FFS - thanks for the thread!

WearyAuldWumman · 27/02/2026 22:10

Just posting that I made 27 today...otherwise I'll forget in this new thread.

WickedGoodDoge · 28/02/2026 07:09

New thread! I’ll start my count with this one.

Thursday I went to Mind and Pump classes. Yesterday was a day off, though I did end up walking an extra hour because my car was in for its MOT and the walk home/back is 30 mins each way.

Today I’m going to Lift class this morning and then (because we FINALLY have some decent weather) DH and I are heading to the Pentlands this afternoon for a leg stretch. The snow is starting to melt from the hills up north so I’m hoping to be able to get back into Munro bagging in a few weeks.

Saturday weigh in and I’m down 1.8lbs. I was up 0.2lbs last week which I think was water retention, so the 1.8lbs is really over two weeks. Puts me at 1.6lbs overweight. So close to not overweight!

1 & 2

WickedGoodDoge · 28/02/2026 07:26

Oh wait. Just checked the forecast and it’s changed from partly sunny to rain today until 3ish which is a bit late for the Pentlands 😭

Comtesse · 28/02/2026 08:32

20min video last night of “tabata abs” (no I don’t know either!).

Previously that would have had me huffing and puffing and looking like a beetroot - but instead felt a bit glowy, it helped my filthy mood and that was about it.

This is what progress feels like, right?

Definitely!

Tabata is from Japan and is aiui based on multiple short intense intervals, like 50s on 10s off or the like.

I've had such a blorchy week. Haven't made it to the gym or done anything really. Been in a bit of a mump all round. Lots of comfort food - and had a few beers too, which isn't exactly helping!

My friend lovely Anna Sensei tried to lure me to join in the Crossfit Open but that was a quick and firm "nope"! Idk maybe if I'd had a better week... but also I'm kind of not into the Open. People say it's the best bit of crossfit but not for me!

We all have weeks like that, and it's easy to get despondent.

stilldumdedumming · 28/02/2026 11:15

Easy peasy Pilates for me today and about a million errands to be done this afternoon.

@BezMills it’s the long game. I sometimes wonder if the ability to overcome the crappy week and be confident next week will be different is the muscle that most needs training.

True facts! I'm trying to get to the gym today but it's looking a bit juggly already.

WinterFrogs · 28/02/2026 17:26

Hello @FurForksSake ! And everyone else!
In an attempt to do regular exercise I would love to join you all.

I have done some walking exercise classes on youtube but I am hoping the thread will help me be more accountable.

FurForksSake · 28/02/2026 17:29

@WinterFrogs hello! Cheesy walking videos on YouTube are brilliant, I must see if I can manage some of that.

My favourite cheesy one has Abba music @FurForksSake 😆

WearyAuldWumman · 28/02/2026 17:43

I am hurting all over from yesterday. Started off with the bits of arm worked by the chest press (I think) and has spread to thighs, glutes and abdominals. (Maybe even the chest muscles, if that's possible?)

A bit of a cheat today: 37 minutes 'brisk walking'.

Completely agree with the persistence “muscle”! Posted this pic before but not in this thread - just keep trucking (and trucking snd trucking)!

Hello @WinterFrogs I do loads of walking videos - Lucy Wyndham Read and Grow with Jo in particular. Any recommendations? Always up for a new YouTube person….

WinterFrogs · 01/03/2026 12:34

I love that @Comtesse! Lots of truth there.

I'm not yet that familiar with any walking workouts. I just put youtube on then scroll till something catches my eye.
I have been known to overdo things and injured a knee whilst skipping because Michael Moseley told me it would be good for me and I didn't start slowly enough. I'm a bit more cautious now.
Today I have looked after a pony which included pushing a full barrow through mud and throwing the contents up on to the muck heap, plus the usual bend and stretch that goes with the job. I'm hoping that carrying water buckets and bags of feed counts as strength training.

I have also done my morning stretches ( before the pony) and a little bit of beginner level tai chi.
I have looked into Lift With Cee as something that might help too. I have some dumbells somewhere in the house.

stilldumdedumming · 01/03/2026 13:03

Thanks @Comtesse - I need reminders of this embarrassingly frequently. Why is it so easy for me to forget?

I need to do my physio but currently revising for a new term. A kick up the rear physio wise would be helpful please.

Well we headed out and did 12k in the Pentlands yesterday. Only one hill though because it started to rain part way up it and then it turned to snow/sleet so I took pity on DH who was miserable and we just headed back down instead of doing the other three I’d planned.

60 mins cardio at the gym this morning.

3&4

WearyAuldWumman · 02/03/2026 18:28

Still trying to figure out the most effective training programme for myself.

Tried the Monday mainly aerobics based Senior Flex today. 45 minutes. Only took two 2.5kg weights, since I wasn't sure if I'd be able to keep up with heavier weights. A mix of aerobics and seated weight training for arms, legs and abdominals.

Had a plate of lentil soup with creatine in the canteen and then chanced not warming up and straight into the gym to grab the lat pull while I had the chance.

Kept the machine at 22.5 kg throughout.

Lats - 10, 6 and 5.
Triceps - 12, 10 and 10.
Biceps - 12, 11 and 11.

Ham and cheese toastie plus a coffee. (Also drinking water all day.)

Gym again.

5 minute HIIT plus cooldown. Whilst warming up, heart rate was 88. Max speed 7.2 kph. Max heart rate - 155 bmp.

Adductor: 54kg - 20; 61 kg - 20; 68 kg - 20.
Abductor: 54 kg - 20; 61 kg - 12; 61 kg - 14.

Coffee.

Pilates, 45 minutes. Mainly core, abs, thighs, but also back.

Think I'm going to suffer tomorrow. (Probably won't train tomorrow. Missing my Stretch class, but I have to rush to get to it, and it's vanishingly difficult to get a place in the class.)

Alittlefrustrated · 02/03/2026 21:01

60 mins Pilates class
46/300
Had 3 inactive days - don't have a good excuse 😳

WickedGoodDoge · 03/03/2026 09:51

That is a LOT of exercise WearyAuldWumman !

I did 45 minutes of Pump yesterday and 30 minutes of Mind this morning (though I don’t count the Mind class as exercise)

I think today is a rest day. My 'core' is a bit painful...and that's all that I'm saying about that!

Alittlefrustrated · 03/03/2026 19:16

45 mins Zumba class
1.5 miles brisk walk in local country park
47/300

stilldumdedumming · 04/03/2026 07:05

Crikey @WearyAuldWumman that was quite a day!

We have nearly finished the garage gym so I snuck in for a mixed routine on Sunday and then had a lovely lay down in the sun with the garage door open. It’s onto a back lane and as we are higher it’s relatively open, with a couple of new houses side on. This has potential - would like to get a bench in there.

I managed 20 lengths swim on Monday. I frustrated that I can’t do more, but I am not going to get in and swim a mile only to wreck my shoulder again. So I have to be patient - humph!

Hard core core yesterday.

Something is going on with my har Pilates class. Instructor off this week and next week is all booked up but a tiny amount of places. Please don’t let the best instructor leave us!

I think that’s 53
