Yesterday - 5 mins cheesy walking then 17 min bedtime yoga. Plus 72 mins of cycling across the day (e bike but still…..)

Oh my word, confidently hopped onto bike to an appointment this morning. About 3.5 miles along flattish bridleways. Been doing so much running thought it would be a doddle on a bike! Bikes use very different muscles I quickly discovered it. But managed there and back although I’m not looking forward to the aches tomorrow!

30 mins home again

28,000 steps in total!

Plus a 45 minute pump class - full body workout with dumbbells

I’ve just done my ChatGPT strength workout b for my walking in wales plan.

it was three rounds of
dead bugs (i did 8 of each leg)
side laying leg lifts
wall sits (30 seconds)
split squats
body weight Romanian dead lifts.

Tomorrow will be hydrotherapy and Friday will be some mobilisation exercises. Then a longish walk on Sunday.

the strength work out was surprisingly hard and felt like it was targeting core and glutes and legs so not a bad routine.

i never know whether to do it as a circuit three times or just to do a set, wait thirty seconds and do the next set.

5 minute treadmill fast walking warm-up - fastest speed 7.3 kph.
Lat machine: lat pulldowns, triceps pulldowns, biceps curls. Shrugs with 16 kg weights.

45 minute Senior Flex: cardio, stretches, bandwork, overhead presses with 3.7kg weights.

Yesterday - home workout for 60 mins. A mixture of pilates and body bar/kettle bell. Chuffed I did this because I've had a mental block about exercising in the home for a few months. Also squeezed in a quick walk.

@Alittlefrustrated well done, I only exercise at home and have to have my equipment out or I won’t use it. I’m sure it drives the family mad that I have an aerobic step and a kettle bell in the lounge, but it means I do snacks of exercise that I wouldn’t otherwise.

This is great! I’ve made a concerted effort this week. I’d like to go to the gym at least 4 times per week (plus it’s a 15 min walk there and back)
Tuesday - Pilates at the gym
Wednesday - swimming and sauna
Thursday - Body conditioning class

I admit I like a municipal pool. A rectangle of water all sorts of people and nothing fancy. But I did tonight have a little fantasy about being able to afford Virgin gym with its nice saunas and whatnot

Yesterday was 63.

Just did a bit of walking today. One app is saying I've done 17 minutes of brisk walking; the other is telling me I've walked 12,948 steps or 8.3km.

Could swear it was more than that - my old iPhone genuinely misses steps, but I'm unclear about distance.

64, I guess.

Today - some jumping around to a musical number this morning then 20m cheesy walking video (using Motown songs) tonight.

Active for Life: adduction machine, abduction machine, chest press. 94 for 20, 96 for 20 and then 18 on first two; 3 sets of 5 at 26kg for chest press.

Senior Flex: all seated today. Flexibility work, seated star jumps [!], upper body work with two 3.7kg weights.

Also continued to punish my arms at home by clipping a hedge and hauling up a load of ivy.
