Anyone want to join me?
Yes I know it’s an oldie but I did it about 15 years ago and it was really effective.
I’ve just done day one and the weights and abs stuff weren’t too bad but the cardio nearly killed me, I’m more unfit than I realised.

Well done @Happyhettie and @Fundays12 for keeping the Jillian flag flying!

I have had an unexpectedly hectic few days but all back to normal now so I am planning on signing up to the app this weekend for certain 💪

Missing my daily fix of Jillian!

I'm happy to continue on this thread or willing to start a new one if our OP isn't around.

Happyhettie · 04/10/2025 19:22

It’s been hectic with me too. I’ve lost my way again last week. It so hard being back at work and trying to do it every day or even on a work day. I’m trying to prioritise my health but I’m also trying to keep afloat with work and not fall behind. I did do a very half hearted one last night so I’m not counting it as a day but today I’m back on it.

Day 14/30 level 1 ✅

Hope you’re ok and the app is good @IDareSay looking forward to hearing your thoughts on it!

I’m happy to continue on here or have a new thread, really don’t mind!

Katrinawaves · 05/10/2025 15:27

I’m really pleased to have found this thread as I started 30DS yesterday. I last did it about 15 years ago and managed about 12 days before giving up but even that was enough to see some results.

I'm now of course a lot older but I did enjoy the first two days and got an endorphin high from them. Not sure whether that will continue when I’m fitting it around a busy working week however!

I’m 56 and lost weight earlier in the year to get my BMI down to about 23.5 but could really do with losing a little more belly weight and strengthening my core. I already do reformer Pilates a few times a week so am hoping that by adding this in I can achieve the results I want before I turn 57 in 6 weeks time!

IDareSay · 05/10/2025 16:40

Hi @Katrinawaves and welcome!

I'm a few years older than you and retired now, which does make it easier to fit exercise in, but the 30DS was the best thing I have done this year (x2 😁)

I have downloaded the JM app @Happyhettie and started my 7 day free trial today. Haven't completely found my way around it yet, but I'm going to try the 90 day Body Revolution which is 6 workouts a week and would take me nicely up to the new year, but I am also tempted by Slim 60 which promises to help drop those last 10 to 20lbs! It is a beginner level programme though and maybe I need more of a challenge, so I'll try them both this week.
There seem to be lots of options to personalise workouts so plenty to tinker with.

Happyhettie · 05/10/2025 18:13

Hello @Katrinawaves Well done for starting back on the shred. You’ll definitely see results in 6 weeks, especially with the Pilates as well!
The best of it is that you feel the difference really quickly. As Jillian says by day 5/6 it does feel easier.
It’s not always easy fitting it in around work etc. I’ve struggled the last couple of weeks but I’ve found I’ve missed doing it and that’s spurred me on to not stop completely.

@IDareSay 90 day body revolution fits to the end of the year perfectly. From having seen ripped in 30 there’s always a Natalie challenge person to follow so you might be ok even if it’s a starter one. Will be interesting to find out.

I’ve finished Round 2 Day 15/30 (level 1) today. Can actually do a push up! It’s been a long time coming 🙈
I know I can fit in day 16 and 17 on Monday and Tuesday around work but not sure how manic work will be Wednesday / Thursday. I am going to aim for one of those nights though….!

Happyhettie · 05/10/2025 18:17

I’m setting myself a target to finish round 2 by Saturday 25th October (half term holiday)
I have 15 days to complete and 21 days to do it in. Should have thought of that sooner!!
Is it cheating to 2 work outs in one day? Is it humanly possible? !!

I am seriously considering doing more than one a day to complete the 90 days before Christmas 🤣🤣🤣

We’re all mad 🤪

Katrinawaves · 06/10/2025 08:16

Up half an hour earlier than usual today and Day 3 completed. Found the cardio and the press ups a bit easier today though I’m still on the modified press ups. Will try to see if I can do any full ones tomorrow though.

I have a reformer Pilates class after work today which will be a nice stretch out!

Happyhettie · 06/10/2025 10:11

Well done @Katrinawaves day 3 completed one day closer to finishing it 😁

@IDareSay yup. Utterly bonkers 😆

Round 2 16/30 completed ✅ my intention is to complete 17/30 after work this evening. A rare no meetings night!

IDareSay · 06/10/2025 11:45

Just did Day 1 of the Beginner Slim 60 programme. Just Jillian, but she explains how moves can be modified and if you have done 30 Day Shred you will be familiar with the modifications.

Ha! I was fooled by the word 'beginner'!
Day 1 is a strength day but includes jumping jacks etc. so still made me pretty much out of breath.
I think I will do 2 more days of this (one more strength, one cardio) then test out the Body revolution for a couple of days.
I'm melting! 😰

ETA: you can download the workouts so no need for an internet connection, which may be handy for some situations.

Happyhettie · 06/10/2025 16:54

Sounds like it’s been a good workout! Jillian’s idea of a beginner and mine I don’t think is the same 🙈
I’ve done Ripped in 30 before (never made it to the full 30 days) but I did like that one.

I’ve done another shred - did level 2 this time.
So that’s 17/30 completed. Feel ok (other than the usual beetroot shade) and hope o don’t live to regret my life’s choices tomorrow…

IDareSay · 07/10/2025 16:09

Day 2 of the Beginner Slim 60 programme done, another strength day with completely different exercises than yesterday. Cardio tomorrow.

I was aching in some different places this morning, but found today's session a little easier.

Fundays12 · 07/10/2025 20:10

I did Caroline Girvan weight workout last night to shake it up a bit and it was tough. J feel like I worked different muscle groups which is a good thing. She is definitely worth a try to.

Happyhettie · 07/10/2025 20:29

Day 18/30 completed. Was going to try and do 2 lots this evening but I just didn’t have it in me! Arms are achy after doing double yesterday.
Will have a look at Caroline Girven as well for a change when I get to day 30.

Katrinawaves · 07/10/2025 20:57

Level 1, day 4 completed so my continuous streak is unbroken though I have a really busy day tomorrow and early start.

Frustratingly even though I am eating well and in calorie deficit my weight is going to however. It shot up 2lb on the first day and has stabilised at about a lb over my pre Jillian weight ever since which was not the idea of adding this to my routine!

IDareSay · 08/10/2025 10:41

Day 3 of the Beginner Slim 60 programme done, cardio day.

Ugh, I did not like this at all! Up and down off the floor like a bloody yo-yo. Still, at least each exercise is only 20 seconds so at least by the time I was saying "I hate this!" it was time for a different one 😂

I'm going to try Body Revolution tomorrow. I'm pretty certain I'll be keeping the app, there is so much on there so I definitely won't get bored with the workouts.

Katrinawaves · 08/10/2025 22:20

Day 5 of level 1 completed albeit at 10pm today!

IDareSay · 09/10/2025 10:38

Wow, that is dedication @Katrinawaves !

Just did Day 1 of Body Revolution on the app (also available as a DVD).

Absolutely brilliant! Basically Jillian yells at you for half an hour 😁

Set in the studio with lots of impossibly beautiful fit young things, but helpful to see them occasional wobble too! I found myself smiling quite often which is unheard of during a workout 😊

Just loved it. Bearing in mind this is only day 1 though and she was very clear that it gets progressively more difficult. Going to do days 2 and 3, then will probably stick with this one for a while. Prefer it to the Slim 60, definitely.

Katrinawaves · 09/10/2025 23:52

Even later doing Day 6 tonight as I had a late night at work. But it’s done and my streak is still unbroken.

IDareSay · 10/10/2025 09:51

Day 2 of Body Revolution done.

Today's highlight: "Screw you Anita!" 😂

That's awesome @Katrinawaves My evenings are never so energetic!

Katrinawaves · 10/10/2025 18:38

Last workout of the week: Level 1, Day 7. I also managed a reformer Pilates class in my lunch break. So a Friday night glass of wine feels warranted.

IDareSay · 11/10/2025 10:44

That wine was well deserved @Katrinawaves

Day 3 of Body Revolution done, a cardio day, and mercifully short at 20 minutes!

Really enjoying this programme, it's like the old school aerobics and step aerobics in a way, that I used to do back in the 80's and 90's 😁

Jillian keeps saying it only gets harder though, so we will see if I am quite so cheerful in a few weeks!

Katrinawaves · 11/10/2025 11:44

One week in to the four and I’m thrilled to have seen some NSVs already. My weight has stayed stubbornly the same all week but it seems my body composition has changed.

Last Saturday I did an AI Body scan which said that my arms and legs had good muscle tone but my core and torso were weak. This was via an app on my phone but it did align with the results of a professional grade machine at my gym the previous week. Today I repeated the scan and torso and core are both now also in the good sector albeit that the app is telling me I need to lose some fat off my abs, hips and thighs to reach my goal.

IDareSay · 11/10/2025 12:19

What app is that @Katrinawaves ? Sounds interesting.

I agree about the body composition; I was just sorting through some clothes, putting the very summery stuff out of the way, and tried on a pair of shorts that last fitted me when I weighed about 4kg/half a stone less than I do today. I was astonished to find they fit! Now admittedly, they would look better when a little bit looser but I was able to easily fasten them. I'm quite shocked.

Katrinawaves · 11/10/2025 12:46

@IDareSay its called Zing Coach. I quite like it. It has lots of workouts on it too based around the equipment you have and an AI coach who can answer most wellbeing questions I have thrown at her.

Day 8 completed now. I am contemplating moving up to Level 2 tomorrow as I think doing my first one on a weekend day might be sensible and I may get more benefit doing my last 22 days on Levels 2 and 3 rather than clocking up an extra 2 days on Level 1
