For me

10 mile mountain bike ride. (Very hilly, technical terrain)

5 mile run, off road, hilly

20 mile road cycle (fairly hilly terrain, decent pace eg 16mph average)

25 mile hilly road cycle

Run 35km

Iamblossom · 25/04/2023 21:53

Plus dog walks

tourdefrance · 25/04/2023 22:03

Not much really

Walked to work and back twice - 2 x 4 miles
Cycled to work and back twice - 2 x 5 miles (took scenic route)
Walked to parkrun and back <2 miles ( but volunteered this week)
Family walk of about 6 miles
Cycled to an appointment and back - about 3 miles
1 hour yoga

I would normally go for a run or two and will do later this week.

Rainallnight · 25/04/2023 22:05

I feel exhausted reading all this.

Also, how do you all fit it all in???

rhetorician · 25/04/2023 22:07

Cycle to work and back x 3 (12 mile round trip)
2 x strength sessions (45 mins)
3 runs (4, 5 and 7 miles)
Lots of steps (but include runs above)
1 x row (20 mins)

I do it with my daughter.

tourdefrance · 26/04/2023 08:14

Most of mine is just a choice to walk / cycle rather than drive.

Driving 2 miles into the city centre is quicker some days but not much.

When dc were at primary we walked / cycled to school together and then I kept going to work (or to the train).

EveryWitchWaybutLoose · 27/04/2023 04:37

I'm on holiday but I have walked at least 15,000 steps each day, and done 2 weights work outs at a local gym here.

Deadlifts 3 sets of 3 at 90 kilos
Squats 5 sets of 5 at 45-55 kilos
Lat pull downs 5 sets of 5 at 50 kilos

Plus stretching out to front splits and pancake straddle splits.

StepAwayFromTheBiscuitJar · 27/04/2023 05:24

3x weightlifting sessions. Max deadlift is 140kg.

Hubblebubble · 27/04/2023 11:03

@StepAwayFromTheBiscuitJar how long did it take you to get to that weight?

florenceandthemac · 27/04/2023 11:13

@Rainallnight I plan it into my weekly schedule and make everything work around the exercise, sort of.
I workout every lunch break on the three days I'm in the office. I go to an early morning gym class on the two days I work from home, then run at lunch too.
I will also workout while DC is at activities, so I'll squeeze in an hour of walking or pilates one night, or a longer gym session on the evening when it's a longer activity.
Obviously this leaves no time for spending time cooking evening meals etc, so that need to be planned in advance too!

I've been lifting on and off for almost a decade but last 2-3 years I've been really dedicated which is when I've made the majority of my progress.

SpringBunnies · 27/04/2023 17:12

Rocket1982 · 27/04/2023 19:55

I thought I was reasonably fit but I’m not sure after reading this thread. One 10km run and one 5km run. I will do one further 5 run tomorrow and that will be more than an average week.

minidancer · 27/04/2023 20:34

How do people find the time to exercise for over 2 hours a day?!
I work part time, 3 kids and struggle to fit an hour a day in. It's not me being lazy as I love exercise, I just struggle to fit it in with work, kids activities, cooking, homework etc

minidancer · 27/04/2023 20:36

@gymmum82 how do you fit it all in?

unfor · 27/04/2023 20:45

This is so interesting! I am entirely unfit and I am so impressed how committed everybody on this thread is to making time for exercise. A real eye opener.

OrangeBananaFish · 27/04/2023 20:48

Saturday - parkrun (so 3.1 miles)
Sunday - Marathon training 18 mile run
Monday - Boxfit followed by Yoga
Tuesday - 5 mile run
Been a lazy bugger since then (I should have gone running tonight, but something came up which meant I couldn't get out)

That's pretty standard though I don't usually run as far on Sundays. It usually 8-12 ish miles.

lljkk · 27/04/2023 20:50

2 hours Didn't happen when I had little kids in the house, Minidancer, unless I had a lot of time walking (buggy pushing).

I watch very little tv, too.

FrangipaniBlue · 27/04/2023 20:57

Friday - 5km run & 3.5km swim
Saturday - 1hr weights in gym
Sunday - 110km cycle
Monday - recovery
Tuesday - 7km run & 1.8km swim
Wednesday - 1.5hrs on the turbo trainer
Today - 3.5km swim & 1hr weights in gym
Tomorrow I'm doing a 4.5hr bike ride

I also walked the dog once every day, sometimes twice.

I average 16-20hrs of exercise per week + dog walks but I wouldn't say I'm normal..... I do long distance triathlon 😆
