Hello

Does anyone fancy joining me in trying to tone up by doing planks? I've started today with 3x 20 second planks. I aim to build up to a minute each one over the next few weeks. I'm interested to see the results over a few months.

Join at your own pace, if you can do 3x 5 second ones then join me too!!

Is anyone out there? I'm still persevering... Although it's been difficult!

I've missed a week, I feel like I'm out of the habit now 😫

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 14/08/2023 21:42

I’m still here! I’ve been doing Lucy WR’s five minute arms and abs every day too - core of STEEL.

Plankingplanks · 14/08/2023 21:42

I missed 2 weeks! Still building back up now!! I did 45secs x3 a few days ago and my abs were so sore!! 🤣 It's building up quickly again now

I'm still here, the foot is still sore and the muscle still tight. I figure that as resting it it seems to have done the grand total of fuck all, I may as well get back to them.

I'll probably just do one a day to start with though, don't want to push my luck I did keep going with the gym though (except the rower, that pulls on my ankle), and finally completed week 5 of c25k, meaning I can now jog very slowly for 20 mins at a time.

Thank you for this thread, inspiring me back to it.

Plankingplanks · 14/08/2023 21:47

Damn, sorry about the foot @L1ttledrummergirl so annoying when injury stops you as you are getting in the flow! Hopefully the planks won't aggravate it!

I swear if have given up by now if I hadn't started this thread!

Was thinking about this thread today!
Have fallen off the wagon these past few weeks with being away and it being summer and routines are out the window!
Feel so sluggish and just 'meh' ..

I'm so glad of this thread.. did 45 seconds this eve and I feel better for it.
Onwards and upwards for tomorrow..
and yay for this thread!

Still doing the Bowflex 3-minute plank every day.

Except yesterday, when I did Caroline's 15-minute plank workout..........20 plank variations...😎

Caroline Girvan. Best weights trainer on YouTube. But she also does planks...

halfpasteleven · 14/08/2023 22:41

Thanks @PaminaMozart

I'm almost afraid to watch!!!!

PaminaMozart · 14/08/2023 23:23

You don't have to do it all at once 😂

Plankingplanks · 21/08/2023 07:39

How is everyone doing. Just about to embark on today's planks. I screwed my back up at work yesterday so only managed one but I'm determined to do more today.

Judystilldreamsofhorses · 30/08/2023 21:00

I’m still going!

AHugeTinyMistake · 30/08/2023 21:06

I've not planked for nearly 4 weeks. Ill, moved house, ill again ☹️

But once I'm over this lurgy I'm hopeful. I might try a little one on Sept 1st. Coughing my guts up currently but don't want to start a new month plankless!

Nix32 · 30/08/2023 21:09

@Plankingplanks I've only just seen this thread but I'm intrigued - have the planks made a difference to how your stomach feels/looks?

Plankingplanks · 30/08/2023 21:12

@Nix32 they have actually. Although I've been slack this week my stomach still feels much firmer.

Ah @AHugeTinyMistake that sounds rubbish. 1st September is a good day to restart. Let us know how you get on

Have had rotten time of the month symptoms but will be starting back this eve/ tomorrow eve for sure..

August wasn't as steady as I'd have liked it to be but I'm staying on this thread and staying planking!

Regular planks lead to a strong core, which is the key to fitness. And yes, it firms up the abdomen no end 😎
