Hello

Does anyone fancy joining me in trying to tone up by doing planks? I've started today with 3x 20 second planks. I aim to build up to a minute each one over the next few weeks. I'm interested to see the results over a few months.

Join at your own pace, if you can do 3x 5 second ones then join me too!!

Got up to 2 min 30 today. I feel like I've crushed some sort of physical and mental barrier. It was hard though ngl. But that is 6 weeks of planks I guess. You do make progress if you just keep trying.

And I know this is vain but I am definitely seeing changes in my midsection now in the mirror. No 6 pack or anything but it's definitely looking tighter.

@AHugeTinyMistake well done you!! My stomach definitely looks more toned. I need to get onto those side planks but I can't seem to balance!! 🤣

Despite having cramps and it being Saturday, I managed 30 seconds and 50 seconds today and I'm glad of it.

Still hitting 10k steps everyday also.

Hope everyone is still here and doing well- I'm glad I found this thread!

The balance is deffo the hardest part!

Are you doing arm outstretched or just on your elbow?

If you've got your arm fully extended try matching it with the other arm so you're reaching to the ceiling. I don't know why but it seems to help!

@AHugeTinyMistake just managed one on each side. 20 secs each plus 2x 70 sec normal planks. Getting better. I'm using forearms for both

Was on the advanced programme, have had to drop back to intermediate this final week

I don't know why but it seems to assume you're suddenly able to do multiple rounds of your max effort on planks literally from nowhere

Rather than get discouraged I've dropped down a level and seems like the right sort of strenuous.

Still hate reverse planks though I'm maybe a bit less saggy in the middle now 😂

After 2 weeks on holiday with very few achieved, I got back to it today. I only did 2, my first for just under 50 secs before my feet slid out, out the second for a minute. I'll try for 3 tomorrow.

Same here! Some days are a right struggle and doing shorter 30-40 second ones. At least we're still trying though 😊

After forgetting to do any yesterday I just done 2x70 secs on forearms. One 40 sec reverse plank and 30 secs on each side!! Can I go to sleep now?

Still here. Getting slightly more balanced in my side planks... Not really sure what the reverse planks are doing to help though.

I'm still here too. I still hate them, but can see the benefit so I'm persevering. I don't even want to know what reverse planks are, I keep getting the crab in my head and I haven't done that since I was about 14!

@L1ttledrummergirl lol.no bent legs!! Just squeeze your arse cheeks like mad as far as I can see and arms just go under not over your shoulders!!

3x45 sec forearm planks, 1 20 secs each side and 50 secs reverse plank. Still at it. 😁

My planks have been a bit all over the place lately, but have finally managed to do 3 x 1 minute today! So I'm pleased with that. Definitely helps when I see the motivation of others and they say they're seeing results.
