Hello

Does anyone fancy joining me in trying to tone up by doing planks? I've started today with 3x 20 second planks. I aim to build up to a minute each one over the next few weeks. I'm interested to see the results over a few months.

Join at your own pace, if you can do 3x 5 second ones then join me too!!

Still going here too. I try not to miss more than 2 days or I find it hard to get back into the habit

It's hard work in warm weather though isn't it!

But I do feel better for doing them- mentally and physically.

I've been MIA for a while (just checked... 19th May! That's flew...)
Impressed at everybody still here!

Although I've done the odd 2+ min plank in my workouts, I've fell off the plank wagon.
However I did a 3 min one at my weights session this morning, with a 5kg weight on my back for the last 45 seconds, so I'm back and i'm going to keep it up 🙌🏼 (for a week anyway, as I go away next week!)

Welcome back @fflorenceandthemac im still here but been a bit Lax this week. Had to jump out of bed at 11pm last night and bang one out quickly as I forgot and the day before. I'm off on holiday tomorrow so will get back to it once I've arrived!!

My planks have been a bit all over the place lately, but have finally managed to do 3 x 1 minute today! So I'm pleased with that. Definitely helps when I see the motivation of others and they say they're seeing results.

I agree. I go away next week, and trying to get everything done at work in advance of this holiday means I am working round the clock. It's so hard! Hopefully it's worth it

I haven't done any for a week. I've damaged my right ankle somehow and have had to rest it. It's frustrating because I've also had to avoid the gym. Hopefully it should be OK soon.

Had a much better and more productive week this week for planks. Have pretty much been able to do them all with the odd little hiccup. Hoping I can really stick to it again and see some results soon.

I could do with joining this thread, I keep meaning to get a plank habit but rarely remember, apart from any in my weekly Pilates class. Which due to holidays (mine and instructor's) I probably won't be doing throughout august. And it's the first tomorrow ...

Seriously though: exercises that enhanced my fitness more than anything include:

Planks
Crunches
Situps
And..............wall sits

Plus weights, obviously. Love Ms Girvan!
