I'm better again finally. Almost two weeks of no exercise, I was going mad when I wasn't passed out. 😂

Eased myself back into it tonight with a two mile walk. If I'm not coughing still tomorrow, I may go to the gym. I'm not positive anymore, just got an annoying after cough. But it's not nice for others to hear someone coughing all the time.

iloveeverykindofcat · 18/09/2022 06:53

You know what, building muscle is hard. I've been at this months now and only a very little bit to show for it. Mad that there's women who are afraid to lift because they're think they're going to 'bulk out'. I am here to tell you that with the best will in the world, you can't accidentally get ripped.

Anyway I'll have to shuffle things around this week due to the bank holiday and fact I have to go to Coventry for work on Wednesday. Will be a long day of mostly trains. About to do some yoga and HIIT today.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 18/09/2022 10:15

Did a yoga class yesterday but was so busy I didn't have time to post it on here. Back on the 30DS today - I looked at my T25 DVDs when they arrived yesterday and decided they looked terrifying and I'd better do a bit of Jillian before I attempt them. 30DS L1D1 done, with 2kg weights, though I did think I was going to die on the anterior raises and switched to 1kg for the second set.

Totally agree, iloveeverykindofcat. At my absolute fittest and thinnest all I've ever managed was a bit more definition in my arms and shoulders, I didn't actually get any bigger. (At the moment, sadly, I am not particularly fit and spent all

Glad you're on the mend, ILikeHotWaterBottles. Hope the cough goes soon.

Days exercised 145.

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 18/09/2022 10:16

*I'm obviously addled doing Jillian again - that trailing sentence should say that I've spent all summer eating and drinking everything in sight. It was nice while it lasted but now I have to pay for it.

SophieLion · 18/09/2022 10:32

Pyramid series day 4 (full Body dumbbell).

Days exercised 173

SophieLion · 18/09/2022 11:26

Is the osteopath able to sort out your back then professor? I think I've heard of T25. Maybe there was a thread on here: T25 and beach body?!

Yes I see crimson - running doesn't require focus on the movements (well I dont focus on the movements, maybe some people do Grin)

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 18/09/2022 17:15

Glad you're feeling a little better, waterbottles. I hope the osteopath can help, Professor.

I agree about building muscle, everykindofcat. I was doing Olympic lifting a few years ago, 75kg deadlift kind of weight which is heavy for me, and I just about had some arm definition...and still too much flab to worry about a six pack!

Hill walk yesterday and a painful attempt at a run today.

Days exercised 128

iloveeverykindofcat · 18/09/2022 17:43

@MotherForkinShirtBalls 75KG! That's amazing! I'm still on the weak people weights 😄.

PeloFondo · 18/09/2022 18:36

Day off for me, had a triple whammy of my usual injection, covid vaccine and flu vaccine

SophieLion · 19/09/2022 07:33

75kg MotherForkin!!! 😱😱😱😱 you're hardcore!!!

Pyramid series day 5 HIIT today and a Kristy chela abs workout. Really like her explanations. Have to go back now and do day 1 of the pyramid series to finish it.

Days exercised 174

roonetta · 19/09/2022 07:53

Good to hear you are feeling better Waterbottles. Hope the cough doesn't hang around.

Hope you don't feel too bad after your vaccines Pelo.

Wow Motherforkin! 75kg!!! That's awesome 👏

I've not heard of Kristy Chela Sophie, will have a look at her. I never concentrate on ab work; too much soft stuff covering them Grin

Not done anything for a few days, DD's 16th birthday has meant we've had lots of family and friends around and way too much food and cake has been consumed. I'll try and get a WWL in today.

30DS L1D2 done. I’m hoping the osteo can sort my back, she’s given me some exercises and says I can carry on exercising normally unless anything gives me sharp pains. Going back to see her in early October. Jillian is just giving me the usual ‘everything hurts, why am I doing this to myself?’ kind of pain, so I think it’s fine.

MotherForkin, I’m in awe of being able to lift 75kg. I stopped picking DD up when she hit about 30kg.

Hope you’re OK, Pelo.

Days exercised 146.

CrimsonAlligator · 19/09/2022 12:37

I don’t know anything about weight lifting, but 75 kg definitely sounds impressive!

Today’s exercise: 4x5 minutes HIIT, alternated by 4x1 km rows. It was a short session, but every minute felt like pure hell.

‘Everything hurts, why am I doing this to myself? kind of pain’ , sums it up nicely! @ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson

PeloFondo · 19/09/2022 13:06

Platinum for week 3 of my challenge.. hoping to get platinum all the way through!
It basically means you've completed the 3 allocated rides and stretches and then done an accelerator ride of your choice

iloveeverykindofcat · 19/09/2022 16:30

I think we're all suffering today! Gym was closed and I needed some cardio so I did the world's most shit run. Well run/walk. Took an hour in total but I wasn't running the whole time. I somewhat hated it. And some light weights that I've got at home. Anyway back to gym tomorrow. Pilates/yoga is being neglected this week due to travel/schedule changes, but it can't be helped. I'll just have to stretch a lot.

But on a more positive note....I am progressing. I am stronger now, I could tell when I picked up the old weights today. Ab definition is just beginning to creep in, just a hint. Maybe the protein shakes are actually doing something.

roonetta · 20/09/2022 12:00

5 mile WWL done

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 20/09/2022 21:29

Oh, I didn't expect that reaction about the weight lifting, I was the weakling in the gym! 😳 To be honest, deadlifting a 75kg bar is a lot easier than lifting a 30kg child, Professor! I did "cave man" training back then (it was before the cross fit craze started but the same type of thing) so the lifting was an add on to it. I'd love to get back to it properly. I was up to about 45kg when my shoulder went.

Anyway, swimming and a lot of walking today. I did 1000m in the pool but managed to get in a few extra front crawl lengths without any pain.

Days exercised 129

SophieLion · 21/09/2022 07:11

5km interval run. No time for anything else.

Days exercised 175

Ps Roonetta - sorry I wrote it wrong: it's krissy chela. I've only tried a short abs workout but she has other informative videos on technique which I like.

iloveeverykindofcat · 21/09/2022 07:21

Travelling today but squeezed in 30 min aerobic w/tiny bit of HIIT first thing. Will be a fair bit of walking now but other than that, sitting on trains.
Yeah its true the position of lifts definitely impacts how hard it is. I can lift a lot more upwards or pushing out than lifting my arms in a t-shape, that's killer.

roonetta · 21/09/2022 13:42

Well done on the swim Motherforkin!

Thanks Sophie, I'll have a look Smile

Did a 15 minute Girvan upper body with really light weights. My arm really doesn't like bicep curls Confused. Then chose a WWL I hadn't done before which turned out to be a 30 minute strength workout with dumbbells. It was okay but not sure I would do it again, although having said that my legs have that wobbly feeling when coming down the stairs so maybe I've underestimated Leslie Grin

Pyramid series day 1 (legs) so that's the pyramid series done.

Not sure what to do now. Don't want to start epic 2 as the workouts were so long....

roonetta · 22/09/2022 16:40

Grin Motherforkin

Do you want to stick with Caroline Sophie or are you open to others? I think Sydney Cummins might have some shorter workouts, but you may have already tried her.

Walk to/from work
