Hello everyone 🤗 Hope you're all doing well.

Epic heat day 4 (full Body) today after 3 weeks off. Made sure to do a really good warm up and cool down/stretch but fully expecting to feel totally sore after 3 weeks of rest days!

Days exercised 186

ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson · 31/10/2022 07:46

30DS L1D6 done. Starting this week as I hope to go on.

Days exercised 156.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 31/10/2022 12:26

That's a challenging return after 3 weeks Sophie! Glad to see you back. Are you feeling OK? And for you Professor! Hope this week is a little less pressured for you.

Bank Holiday weekend here so I slept late (8.30, I'm living the life 🙃) and took the dog for a hill run. It has been really wet and windy and the paths were full of fallen leaves and very slippy so I walked more than I planned (especially on the downhill bits) but I ran all of the last uphill part, which I haven't managed in a while. I was intending to do some weights when I got home but were having visitors and the house looks like a bomb hit it so I need to tidy up instead.

Days exercised 148.

CrimsonAlligator · 31/10/2022 17:56

Made it back onto the rowing machine today for the first time in almost 2 weeks - I did 3 x 2k very…very….slowly. Fingers crossed fitness levels will bounce back quickly 🤞

SophieLion · 31/10/2022 20:20

Why have you been off rowing crimson? Are you injured/ill? Sorry I must have missed that.

Thanks motherforkin. I did use much lower weights today and was very careful about form. Laughing at the 8:30 "lie in"!! Know exactly what you mean. Hope you enjoyed your visitors and your bank holiday Smile

iloveeverykindofcat · 01/11/2022 05:20

Started on the gym instructors program yesterday. I got through it but it took me ages. I wfh most of the time and my work is flexible -I'm a research fellow on a project with a lot of international people who aren't typically online till late morning, so it doesn' really matter, just means I work later to get it all done. Hopefully once I've done it a few times I'll speed up - I had to figure out how to adjust the machines etc. I'm so hypermobile the instructor told me my elbows make her 'uncomfortable'. Was tempted to show her my thumb 'thing' and really freak her out 😁. Anyway welcome back @CrimsonAlligator hope you are well!

SophieLion · 01/11/2022 07:31

Epic heat day 5 burpee HIIT plus a 10 mins abs workout.

Nearly killed myself during the 30 mins HIIT so don't understand why my watch says I only burnt 140 calories.....

CrimsonAlligator · 01/11/2022 09:37

@SophieLion I caught one of those nasty colds that are going around this year and it wiped me out for a couple of weeks. DH is on his third week with it. I’m not 100% yet either, so am taking it slow with some gentle paced rows and see how that goes.

Today’s exercise: 4, 3 & 2k rows. I tried going a bit faster on the last one, but soon realised that was a mistake. Pleased with the overall distance though 😊

SophieLion · 01/11/2022 10:49

Sorry to hear this crimson. Hope you and your DH are fully recovered soon. Flowers

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 01/11/2022 10:53

That sounds like a bad dose, Crimson, mind yourself getting back to it though. I've decided that life is too short for burpees, Sophie so for as long as I exercise I'm planning to use my gammy shoulder as an excuse not to do them!

I have a sugar hangover today. We had very few trick or treaters so I had to jump on the haribo grenade. I managed a short run this morning. It's stopped raining for a bit so I'm going to spend a couple of hours tidying the garden as my weights work.

Days exercised 149

roonetta · 01/11/2022 12:55

Great to see you back at it Sophie. Your fitness tracker is definitely wrong! A normal HIIT workout must burn more than that, let alone a GIirvan 30 minute burpee one! Great going Star

Good to see you back on the rowing machine Crimson. You'll be back to full fitness in no time.

Intrigued about the "thumb thing" Cat, although I have quite a weak stomach so maybe I don't want to know Halloween Hmm

Hope you enjoyed the Haribo Motherforkin. All the athletes eat them so they must be good for you right? Halloween Wink

Glad to see your got a workout in Professor.

Didn't manage to do anything yesterday as I had a day off for a bit of early Christmas shopping (sorry if it's too early for the 'C' word). Got plenty of steps in though.

Did a 20 minute Pilates session and a 20 minute strength workout with light weights today. Can't seem to stay away from the strength workouts and I found a lady on YouTube who does 20 minute workouts for women over 40 (Lift with Cee) and it flew by.

@roonetta They just have a ridiculous range of motion in their sockets, especially the right one, which can look alarming and unnatural if you're not used to it. @SophieLion I truly hate HIIT. I give it a go every so often, but I doubt I'm even doing it right. I'm sure you burned more than that, don't trust those calculators. Sometimes if I put my hands on the heart rate monitor on the elliptical, it will say 115, then a minute later working at the exact same intensity, 160. Its probably neither.

PeloFondo · 01/11/2022 13:20

I'm desperate to get back on the bike but I have a kidney infection that isn't shifting (immunocompromised so I get a lot of infections) so I'm waiting a few more days
I don't feel unwell but don't think a bike saddle is a good plan!

OublietteBravo · 01/11/2022 19:08

Hello 👋

After months of being pathetic, I finally found some motivation. Just done BFBM. Ooof - really feeling it!

I’m going to aim for 20 days of exercise in November and see how I go.

Day 1/30 - done!

SophieLion · 02/11/2022 08:23

Hello oubliette!!! Great to see you back!! Well done on the BFBM and good luck for your 20 days of exercise. Totally get you feeling it - I feel sore all over after 3 weeks off.

Thank you Roonetta. Yes I'm positive the watch is wrong. I had it on the HIIT setting too. Wow - that's super organised Christmas shopping on 1 November!!!

Can't say I enjoy burpees Motherforkin but no doubt they are good for me! Hope you've recovered from all your sugar now!

I can't make up my mind re HIIT Cat. sometimes enjoy it but sometimes it's awful. But it's one the schedule so I do it (I'm a bit weird like that...). Interesting that even the heart monitor on the machine is wrong. Makes me wonder the point of all of these devices.

Hope you feel better soon Pelo Flowers

Today Epic Heat day 7 (leg trisets) and a short Cat Muffin yoga session for flexibility and stretching.

Days exercised: 188

CrimsonAlligator · 02/11/2022 09:41

I find my FitBit really unreliable for any kind of exercise that involves lifting my arms, even if it’s just a tiny bit. It’s way out when I’m rowing and don’t get me started on the weird readings I get when I use an elliptical. As my training plan is obsessed with training in the right heart rate zone, I ended up buying myself one of those heart rate meters with a chest strap and have not regretted it. It’s so much more reliable than anything else I’ve tried.

Today’s exercise: 2 x 6km slow paced rows. I’ll have a break tomorrow and see how I get on with doing some sprinting Friday.

roonetta · 02/11/2022 17:09

Welcome back Oubliette!!! Jumping straight in I see with BFBM Grin. Lovely to see you back, and good luck with the 20 days.

That sounds rotten Pelo. Hope you are on the mend soon Flowers

I'm sure my fitness tracker lies Sophie. Strangely it does help with motivation though. Occasionally an encouraging message to "keep going and don't give up" pops up, and it does spur me on. I actually preferred my Fitbit over my Apple watch because it had a little disco ball which popped up when I reached a goal Grin

OublietteBravo · 02/11/2022 18:44

Thanks @SophieLion and @roonetta! so far, so good. I did a shorter 30 min session today focusing on abs (KAbs L1).

Day 2/20

SophieLion · 03/11/2022 07:48

Glad you found something that works crimson! Hope you enjoy your rest day.

My watch actually does do something like a mini firework display when I reach a goal Roonetta. But normally it's the standing up goal which is silly as I spend most of my day standing anyway!!

Good it's going well oubliette. Hope you're. It too sore.

For me today Epic heat day 8 (back and biceps) and a 10 min Girvan abs and core workout.

Days exercised 189

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 03/11/2022 14:01

Hello Oubliette, lovely to see you back. 😊

That sounds like a bad dose, Pelo, take care of yourself.

I think i need a new watch, all mine does is buzz at me. I'd love the odd disco ball to encourage me!

I can't believe I've finally hit 150! I wondered if I'd manage it at all earlier in the year. Long walk with dog and moany children today and a short swim because my shoulder is complaining that I haven't done my exercises this week.

OublietteBravo · 03/11/2022 19:25

Hello @MotherForkinShirtBalls! It’s good to see that your all still here!

My watch just buzzes at me too. I don’t think it had occurred to me that there might be ones with more exciting options!

3/3 days so far in November. I can’t actually remember the last time I managed 3 consecutive days. Another abs session (KAbs L2: 31 min).

OublietteBravo · 03/11/2022 19:25

3/20

iloveeverykindofcat · 04/11/2022 06:10

I'm so contrary if a fitness tracker told me to keep going I'd probaby rebel and quit. I need one that tells me to give up so I say 'NO I DO WHAT I WANT' and keep going 😂
