I got to 52 miles today and then my knee and period pain was "I think not" so stopped for the day

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 24/10/2022 19:14

How did you get on with your challenge Pelo?

I managed to do a short run this morning.

Days exercised 144

roonetta · 24/10/2022 19:20

Wow well done Pelo StarStar

Glad you got a run in Motherforkin.

I just can't drum up much motivation at the moment, not sure why Hmm. Half term week so I have a bit more time in the morning. Will try and do something before work, maybe some Pilates.

Walk to/from work today

Finished on the 52 miles, slightly disappointed but my knee was niggling so much I didn't want to push it

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 24/10/2022 19:58

52 miles is very impressive, Pelo, well done. You are right not to risk an injury.

I went out early so I didn't have time to bail on my exercise, Roonetta! I'm out of mojo too and the awful weather isn't helping. We have mid term break next week so and I'm planning to take the week off to do very little not that it'll work out that way, I'm sure.

roonetta · 25/10/2022 11:49

I'm not surprised your knee was niggling Pelo! Very impressive Star

I did the same this morning Motherforkin and got my exercise in early. So much easier to do when it's half term and I have no distractions excuses Grin. I did a 20 minute callisthenics session which looked easy but was really tough, and then added 1 mile fast WWL. I always feel better after so I don't know why I talk myself out of it. Hope you have a nice relaxing break next week.

I have decided I will aim to do at least 20 minutes a day of 'something' on top of my walk to/from work. Not really sure what the 'something' will consist of yet. 20 minutes is doable and I should have no excuse fitting that in at some point in the day. I am also going to try increasing my water intake (so much easier in summer), and try to snack more on fruit and veg rather than crisps and chocolate Blush. I have let all of this go so want to get back on track.

I'm the queen of excuses, Roonetta Blush I've just had a swim though and I feel better for it. I've paused my gym membership. I love the classes but I just can't make the times work at the moment and I have enough free weights at home to do what weights I'd do myself down there. I'm planning to do some tomorrow.

PeloFondo · 25/10/2022 14:09

I've taken a couple of days off after the cycling! Due to start back at it tomorrow

iloveeverykindofcat · 26/10/2022 06:28

That's why I always do it first thing - excuses don't have time to creep in. If I delay I know it will be 'Oh I don't have time today...I have too much work....I'm not up to it today'...'. If its first thing I just sort of do it automatically. I do enjoy working out but only once I get started. I'm a musician and I really relate it to music that way - its not talent, particularly, or 'willpower'. Its habit and consistency and making things as accesible to you as possible. There's a school of thought that says you should leave your instrument(s) out of the case, where you can see it, in the room you spend the most time. Because you're way more likely to pick it up and practice if its right there looking at you.

roonetta · 26/10/2022 10:50

Wise words cat. I agree it's habit. I really do miss exercise when I don't do it.

Hope you manage to get a workout in today Motherforkin. Was it a sea swim yesterday? So jealous if it was Envy

Managed a 30 minute Pilates workout this morning. Might manage a short WWL later.

No, Roonetta, unfortunately it was in the pool (although that does mean I can swim properly and get a decent distance in). I haven't been in the sea for ages...it take over an hour to do 10 mins in the water and I just don't have the time at the moment (and since I haven't been in so long, I'm not sure I'm brave enough for 11° water!).

Two short sessions today, a 15 min run to the school to pick up ds and 15 mins weights before I go cook dinner! If I'd left it til later it absolutely wouldn't happen... I too need to get a daily habit going....

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 27/10/2022 09:59

Got out early for a hill run after I dropped the kids to school. If I can get out of a meeting on time, I hope I'll get to the pool at lunchtime too. Tomorrow is going to be tough to get any proper exercise in so I need to double up today!

🙌🙌Congrats!

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 27/10/2022 14:49

Very cool Pelo!

I managed to get my swim done. Didn't want to go, but glad I did.

roonetta · 27/10/2022 15:31

Amazing, well done Pelo! Star. Also, completely off topic, I love your leggings Wink

Good going Motherforkin. Glad you are finding time to get back to your hill runs and swims.

Walk to/from work and a 30 minute Pilates/band workout.

Also managing to eat better and drink more water. Long may it continue.

Meant to ask if you are okay @ProfessorRadcliffeEmerson? Not seen you post for a while ❤️

Well done everyone who’s pushing themselves even if they don’t particularly want to do it! I’ve been out of action for a week now after I caught some nasty bug. I did go for a 30 minute stroll today, but nearly fainted when I made it to the top of the hill! I’m trying to take it easy, but am just getting so fed up of not doing anything 😣

That’s very cool pelo. I received a million meter club t-shirt from concept 2 a while ago (plus a badge!). To say that I was excited, would be an understatement!

PeloFondo · 27/10/2022 15:41

@roonetta M&S! They do them every year in different colours/patterns

roonetta · 27/10/2022 15:44

Sorry to hear you have been poorly Crimson. Hopefully a little every day will get you back on track. It's so frustrating when you just want to get back at it and can't. Flowers

Thanks Pelo. Am going to have a look now Grin

Thanks for asking, roonetta - I’m OK, just crazy at work. 50 hours so far this week plus commuting, and it isn’t over yet. Exercise has just fallen by the wayside! Hoping to be back on it when things calm down a bit.

CrimsonAlligator · 28/10/2022 15:34

Thanks roonetta. I managed another walk today. It felt like hard work, but hopefully if I keep pushing myself a little bit each day, I’ll soon bounce back 🤞It’s hard to believe that just over a week ago I was rowing more than 10k a day. Just thinking about it makes me feel exhausted!

iloveeverykindofcat · 29/10/2022 07:06

Yesterday I got a proper program from a gym instructor. You can get one when you sign up but I didn't have time until yesterday. Think I did the first real sqat of my life. Today is going to be a rest day though. Well, some walking but that's just because I'm meeting a friend in town, not serious walking.

MotherForkinShirtBalls · 29/10/2022 14:39

Thats horrible to feel unwell for so long CrimsonAlligator. I hope you're back to fighting fit soon. And your work mayhem eases soon, Professor. I've just come out of a crazy few weeks but it hit again yesterday and I barely left my desk until for too late.

A programme is a great idea, Cat, they can be great for motivation.

We have visitors for the weekend but I got out early, in the pouring rain, for a slow run with the dog.
