Might as well start a new thread. All welcome regardless of your goals, just keep moving. Everything counts towards your totals. It's amazing what you can accomplish in a year, how far you can go and all the things you see en route.

Thanks I was just fiddling on my phone at how to do it again Grin (whilst workingBlush)

TriSeaSwim99 · 04/05/2021 16:07

Just adding my totals. But nothing except dog walking and paddle boarding over the weekend, so no more kms to add. Still nursing my back so not sure if to risk a run later.

Just checking into the new thread! Thank you @TheLongRider for creating it.

I passed the 3,000km mark for cycling this year. Usually I'd do approximately 7,500km, last year I only hit 4,000km.

I hope to do a few longer cycles this summer. I'd like to get an SR Series under my belt, that's a 200km, 300km, 400km, 600km and possibly a 1,000km event. It depends on what way the events are scheduled.

Nipped out on bike for a sea swim this morning before the strong winds return and make the sea too rough again. Loved it this morning near perfect conditions definitely the calm before the storm & the water feels like it is finally warming abit and bitterly cold April conditions.

Pffft difficult long run yesterday. Did a cracking long run last week, everything felt just right. Yesterday did the same distance, same route and I was 20 minutes slower (20km run)😱 My legs just felt heavy. I think fuelling makes a big difference to me. If I don’t eat enough the day before I really feel the difference.

786km of running done🙂

TriSeaSwim99 · 08/05/2021 11:00

Well done @Run1000km2021thats a long run and if your female your hormonal cycle can have a big impact on energy levels & performance. Strangely for me when I seaswim I really struggle with feeling the cold on certain weeks and others I barely notice it 🤷🏻‍♀️ Definitely a hormonal for me.

Run1000km2021 · 08/05/2021 11:12

@TriSeaSwim99 I am about to have my period (and weirdly the days before my period I feel worse than during), it might be that!

I still haven’t really gotten back in seaswimming😬😬😬 I know I just need to DO IT but I’m being such a wimp...

TriSeaSwim99 · 08/05/2021 11:57

Yes I’m So so tired the week before and run slow but the week after I could climb Everest Grin and nailed my fastest HM that week. I’ve enjoyed getting back in the pool as it’s far more structured sessions at the moment and the numbers are capped so even when the session is fully booked I know it’s ok.

TriSeaSwim99 · 08/05/2021 11:58

Sorry just seen you said sea swimming yes it’s been so cold in April definitely the worst month for temp. But it is warming up slowly now, I’m not back to skins yet but I did stay in 5mins longer in my jacket on Friday

TriSeaSwim99 · 08/05/2021 20:18

Had the urge to run and got 10km in tonight dodged the rain that’s been on/off Smile all day.

OMG finally found the new thread - I thought I'd lost you all SadGrin

Run1000km2021 · 09/05/2021 08:02

Haha welcome back @FrangipaniBlue!

@TriaSeaSwim I’m also enjoying the pool again though I wish they would start doing longer sessions (currently 45 minutes) as I really want to be practising longer swims!

ErrolTheDragon · 09/05/2021 12:13

Last week was a bit of a write-off due to weather and serving as support staff for DD during her finals. But DH has taken her back today - he was up at 5am so he'll probably be back from his 400 mile round trip soon - so I've been for 12.1 km along the canal including a total of 4 km 'running' .... different gait, higher heart rate but not a heck of a lot faster than walking. Grin It's the first time I've done that for over a year so was quite pleased to be able to do 1 km and then 6 half km stretches rather than shorter intervals.

TriSeaSwim99 · 09/05/2021 12:32

Hope your DD does ok @ErrolTheDragon in her exams.

Made my butt go out and cycle early this morning but I was weary getting 38km in the legs with a headwind half the way. I’ve set myself a 250k target on the bike this month that’s going to be hard for me to achieve but as my charity ride is only 7wks now I’ve got to start ramping up the miles and probably let the running slide abit.

Same ours are 50 and they won't let you book a double sessionAngry

I been a bit distracted by getting ready for my NT volunteering place re-opening, so haven't recorded. I've had a really good May and done 44Km so far, helped by 12K today and 10K last Sunday, while avoiding the F1 fest at home. Both were some new routes suggested on the AONB website.
I'm thinking of subscribing to the OS maps on line- anyone used it? I could have done with a "you are here function" today as managed to do a huge circle at one point and ended back at a lovely church again.
I'm beginning to think I might be able to make up for my 7 week lay off with my ankle, so not changing my target yet.

ErrolTheDragon · 09/05/2021 19:06

DH tried the OS maps a while ago, they seemed a bit glitchy then. We have MemoryMap which is good though expensive - DH likes finding new routes.

TriSeaSwim99 · 09/05/2021 20:56

My DH bought OS maps for our area using ViewRanger and it’s been great when I’m trail running. He then shared his log in with me. You download it so even if there’s signal issues you have the map and it’s only rarely not been able to ‘find me’ on it.

78percentLindt · 09/05/2021 21:13

Thanks both, I'll investigate a bit more.
