Might as well start a new thread. All welcome regardless of your goals, just keep moving. Everything counts towards your totals. It's amazing what you can accomplish in a year, how far you can go and all the things you see en route.

@78percentLindt do you use a Garmin watch to track your activities?

You can plan routes using the Garmin connect app and then depending what model you'd watch is you can send it to your watch and follow it.

You can also plan routes on Strava and use your phone to follow it.

78percentLindt · 09/05/2021 23:38

I have an interesting relationship with my Garmin watch! The strap makes my wrist itch and I am afraid that I struggle to read detail on it without reading glasses. I had to reinstall the App after the last update as well.
I haven't had much success with Strava walking routes as it seems leave out a lot of local footpaths but DS uses it for his bike rides so I must check with him to see if I am missing a trick.

We thought we could get our walk in between my Pilates and the onset of rain... we didn't judge it quite right, despite turning back a bit early the heavens opened in the last km. So our coats and trousers are dripping on the rack now and I'm wearing a (clean) dog-towel sarong until I CBA to go upstairs for dry togs. It's the first time we've got seriously wet in over a year though. 6.9 km

771.3 walked
40k rowed

SSwimCycle21 · 10/05/2021 13:40

We had a unexpected downpour on the school run too @ErrolTheDragon so my jacket was dripping off the chair this morning.

Got a quick pool swim before lunchtime.

Running 302km
Swimming 21.25km
Cycling 604km

ErrolTheDragon · 10/05/2021 17:23

Even worse rain this afternoon though, with thunderstorms and hail thrown in. It's quite sunny just now though.

Wishing to avoid a repeat of yesterday, we headed back on the first drops of rain - of course then the sun came out again. So just 6.2 km

777.5 walked
40k rowed

SSwimCycle21 · 11/05/2021 14:50

It’s hammering it down ere @ErrolTheDragon and I’ve got to walk down to school for pick up in a proper heavy April shower. I had the same fear at lunchtime I nipped out around the block for a walk & 2mins in a blob appeared & sky was really dark ahead but I’d been stuck at my desk all morning so bravely walked on with out a coat Grin got home in the dry 25mins later.... phew!

ErrolTheDragon · 12/05/2021 13:26

Iffy again today so just 4.7 km.

782.2 walked
40k rowed

ErrolTheDragon · 13/05/2021 13:23

A repeat of Monday's soaking - the weather forecast is pretty useless at the moment! 9.2 km

793.4 walked
40k rowed

Run1000km2021 · 15/05/2021 09:03

I agree the forecast is dire! Still I take no notice and get out there anyway. Another good week of running.

830km of running for me so far this year.

drspouse · 15/05/2021 19:14

I DID MY 50k!
I'm also up to 500k bike riding for the year so I may aim for 1000k now.

TheLongRider · 15/05/2021 19:50

Woohoo! Congratulations I knew you'd be well able for the ride. Star You might feel.it in the legs for about 48 hours but you'll be fine after that.

Well done!
DH didn't fancy walking today, I did some gardening in the rain instead. Grin

drspouse · 15/05/2021 20:16

I did put a cheeky boost on the eassist a few times but my main problem was getting wet and cold - I chose the wrong gloves and shoes for the weather.

Run1000km2021 · 15/05/2021 22:27

Well done @drspouse!

drspouse · 15/05/2021 23:34

I have since eaten my body weight in curry and sweets.

HapHap · 16/05/2021 11:08

611km running - would have been more but I was off for 2 weeks after a sprain. It's still grumbling... Sad

ErrolTheDragon · 16/05/2021 12:10

Dry this morning, so 9.7km

803.1 walked
40k rowed

SSwimCycle21 · 16/05/2021 14:45

Well Done @drspouse great ride.

Crap week post covid vaccine felt quite unwell with zero energy, but felt a bit better today so made the effort to get out on the bike, most of the two hour ride was non-stop rain Arrh but the forecast was crap all day.

Running 302km
Swimming 21.25km
Cycling 636km

100km club spin this morning. The first group ride in over a year. Five of us on a nice loop through the flatlands of Kildare to the west of Dublin. 214km for the week.

I've lost track of when I last updated so will do my totals once I'm back home.

We're on holiday at the moment - a novel experience! Walked 13 km today, just 3 today but have been for a swim 2.2 km. My club swimming starts on Saturday so want to get a couple of swims in this week, especially as the weather not likely to be great for super long walks.

drspouse · 16/05/2021 20:21

2k walk to the shops. I've been putting training rides in my diary so I will put a few longer walks in I think.
