A speedy 4 miles this morning, before going to the hairdressers.

emummy hope the foot doesn’t get much worse and spudlet hope foot carries on recovering, even if it’s slow.

Amaura that’s great if races are starting to get the go ahead. I am hoping the Park Run will start soo.

Oh noooo @emummy, what a pain! Hope not clears up soon.

Mine has taken a bit of a backwards step but the physio says that’s normal. It wasn’t quite so agonising when she was pummelling my leg today. I might not run tomorrow (😭😭😭) and see how it is on Friday. So frustrating.

No miles to add although I have cycled 20 miles today, with the school runs and getting to and from my appointment. Cross training, innit?

Purpleraindeer · 14/04/2021 19:49

Was intervals Wednesday for me 🥵 beautiful day here too.
Sorry to hear about the injuries

I have a very slight ache at the top outside of my hip. I’m hoping if I stare disapprovingly at it, it will reconsider and go away. Unfortunately I’ve had to give my upcoming physio appointment to my daughter.

At the least the PB earlier this week means I can carry on ignoring speed work and just work on my ultra the way I was going.

8 mile plod up the hill and back

Hope everyone’s injuries start behaving nicely

Sounds perfect @emummy

IRun4Me · 15/04/2021 19:08

Have been busy but kept up with the thread but with my fog brain I can’t remember who’s done what and who’s injured. But well done to all the achievements and hope all the grumbles and niggles just disappear off.

A couple of runs to add. They’ve been nice but also felt like hard work. One of them I could have happily just sat down half way and admired the scenery. Definitely having an energy dip.

Sounds like a rest day might be needed @IRun4Me.

Short run this am before a looooong days worth of meetings. I felt really pleased I had got out just to feel some fresh air

Spudlet · 15/04/2021 19:49

3 miles for me today. The foot niggled a bit during the run so I walked a bit more than I’d have ideally liked to, but fingers crossed it feels ok now. The physio said she wasn’t too worried about it hurting during a run, so long as it was ok afterwards and definitely the next day.

Really tired now - I was in about the lowest gear I have pulling DS back up the hill from school and I still nearly had to get off and push (we cycle with a trailer bike), so I think tomorrow will be a rest day - school run and a dog walk notwithstanding. I may do some yoga for strength perhaps. Or possibly I’ll just sit on the sofa and eat one of DS’s Easter eggs 😈

I have physio tomorrow so fingers crossed for a miracle cure!
I definitely recommend resting for every who’s feeling a bit weary, sometimes you just need a bit of TLC. I am enjoying my week off but very aware of the busy week I’ve got waiting!

Well done @Amaura that’s a fab improvement for a 5K.

Hope everyone’s niggles improve soon

20.7 miles to add from me, 2 lots of intervals and 2 trail runs. Easier week on the mileage thankfully.

Hello Smile have just discovered this thread. Have been running on and off for about 12 years or so but only since June last year have I managed to go any further than 10k. Am currently training for my first half marathon which is going along all right.

Can I post the miles I’ve done since the beginning of April or should I start from tomorrow morning’s run?

Am also having my first Covid vaccination tomorrow morning (after the run) - am hoping I don’t have too many side effects.

Amaura · 16/04/2021 01:02

Welcome @MirandaWest feel free to add all your April miles. How is the training going for the HM?

50FootWave · 16/04/2021 06:47

Welcome @MirandaWest!

Hope today goes ok, @emummy and wishing your grumbly hip and foot a swift recovery @Amaura and @Spudlet.

My knee is better but not totally pain free - injuries take so long to go but I guess it's my own fault! I am stretching more, and do strength training 3 times a week, so every cloud...

Adding 3.5 from yesterday.

3 miles with dogs and a friend this morning, fun until her dog decided to go awol. So much less stress running without dogs but kills two birds with one stone.

Have just had a sports massage on my back, so painful, I have short back muscles that need stretching apparently. Hmm

Not sure i am going to get the next long run of the marathon training plan in this week, 12 miles, have only managed 10 miles so far this week across 3 runs! I might just repeat the week next week. Although now the gyms and pools are open, I can't see myself fitting in 2 swims, 2 gym sessions, 4 runs and yoga in one week...

emummy · 16/04/2021 16:47

I don't think I could fit that in either @Iamblossom!
Physio reckons inflamed heel fat pad, same as a few years ago, so I have been thoroughly massaged and strapped up. Carry on running, just shorter and easier for a bit, and put a heel pad in my shoes.
Welcome @MirandaWest!

Thank you 😊 half marathon training going all right at the moment - am following a plan on my Garmin and managing to do what they tell me to do and I’m enjoying my running so overall is good 😊

I did 4 miles this morning bringing April’s total so far to 52.9 miles

Great run and chat with friend along the beach yesterday. Hilly woodland run today, got slightly lost and had to run down the mountain bike trails! A bit steep and huge jumps 😂

Run with dogs super early this morning as have a busy day of pampering ahead, hurrah for nail shops!

Amaura · 17/04/2021 13:02

I always panic when I end up on bike tracks in case a load of them come hurtling by.

20 miles (my first one this season), plus a sport sprint session and a slow 5km.

I should have scrolled up, didn’t spot the typo in the last number

Juming in to add my 3.5 miles this morning before we are all damned to hell.

50FootWave · 17/04/2021 14:48

No, @lambsblossom, not unless you give up sleeping!

@emummy how does your heel feel? Not too bad news from the physio, it seems, quite similar to advice I got about my knee - slower, shorter runs, but no need to stop?

I also wear a very glamorous knee strap!

emummy · 17/04/2021 18:54

That’s pretty much it @50FootWave! I have a frozen water bottle to roll it on after walks/runs, and she taped it up. I might get a gel pad for under my heel for a bit.
