I went for a run! Well, run/walk. Not the best day, cold and a bit sloppy, so just went very easy. Main issue is that bras are uncomfortable to wear just now, the band presses right on the sore area of ribs. But it’s bearable, hopefully will go again over the weekend.

Amaura hope the RED is going well. I’m panicking about my annual target was well on track and then got behind with one thing and another.
Well done emummy but take it easy you don’t want to hurt yourself again.
A couple of mostly wet cold runs to add

Comes in and dances

Parkrun PB today 🎉

Will update tomorrow with the weeks mileage but been getting out each day still

Doublethecuddles · 11/12/2021 20:59

22 miles in December. Am having to adopt a new running style running to cope with ice!
Amaura good luck with RED, it is harder with lack of daylight!
emmumy hope you continue to recover.

Congratulations on the PB @Amaura!
Good luck with the ice @Doublethecuddles, it is my least favourite weather for running.
Another short easy run for me today. Nice clear morning but not icy so just perfect. Rib still hurts but not badly so I think I’ll keep doing this 3 times a week for a few weeks then increase slowly.

It’s good really warm here, was out in shorts and T-shirt today, so at least no ice for a while.

Three runs a week is a good start @emummy

Got (not good)

IRun4Me · 13/12/2021 08:25

Well done Amaura on your PB.
Very muddy run which was actually quite good fun. Warmer here too.

Wee run in the dark this morning. Not warm here, I am clearly living in the wrong place! Although I knew that anyway!

It’s not warm here either emummy , but it’s the dark that gets me.
8 1/2 miles this morning, which included a very muddy patch, climbing over a fallen tree but what I objected to was running into a very strong wind while running along the edge of a field! Felt good when I got home😀

A nice bit of jeopardy to make you feel alive in the morning there @Doublethecuddles

Have to say, my legs are feeling it this morning. Running with a friend tonight so hopefully it will easier once I get going.

UnaOfStormhold · 15/12/2021 08:45

Congratulations on the parkrun PB Amaura, great work! I really need to have a go at pushing myself again - I've got into the habit of just doing an easyish pace, which is fine but nice to change it up occasionally. I've joined a faster group at running club which is a bit challenging but feels like the right sort of challenging for me - last night we did an out and back aiming to go faster on the return trip, which I quite enjoyed and managed to do, though the second half was tough at times! And then I had some strength work to do afterwards so my legs are really feeling like they've been put through the wringer this morning.

We're coming to the end of our club strava challenge for the year, with just one more task to do - trying to see who can get the most elevation into a 2.1 mile run. This is going to be tough given the competitive people doing it! I've signed up to organise the challenge next year so it will be my turn to push people to do next-to-impossible things - looking forward to it :)

Those starve challenges have been quite tough @UnaOfStormhold, well done for tackling them all. And good luck planning for next year!
Short run again, milder today though not quite T shirt weather! Chest a little less sore this time.

6 mile run yesterday, which I was well over dressed for! A sociable beach run with a friend today, nice not to be running on mud!

Well done UnaOfStormhold on those Strava challenges. I’m sure you will think of some impossible challenges!
emummy hope you chest feels better soon.

Still going, just over half way and almost at the 100 miles to go stage. I have my first orienteering race on Sunday. Going to try a bit of practice tomorrow with a thumb compass.

Well done to everyone still going with their running and challenges

emummy · 19/12/2021 12:23

Well done for getting this far @Amaura and good luck today.
Slightly longer run and a wee bit faster today, tested out new warm winter leggings. Chilly and grey here today, hope it brightens up!

I had a very misty, muddy trail run today, one of the local cross country fixtures - shoes got thoroughly soaked and it took me ages to get all the mud off afterwards. Fun though :D

Amaura · 19/12/2021 21:18

Great to hear people loving cross country trial routes.

The longer run sounds promising @emummy

So turns out I probably entered a level that was a bit too easy as I managed to win my race. Next time I’ll try the lowest improvers level rather than the hardest beginner one.

Just a bit short of 100km this week 😮

Doublethecuddles · 20/12/2021 18:50

Well done UnaOfStormhold on cross country run. I tried it once and ended up running round a very muddy ploughed field - not for me.

Social 5 miles this morning. I didn’t really have time but needed my run for sanity!

emummy · 21/12/2021 09:12

Congrats on the win @Amaura! Well done to cross country runners; our local one is 2 loops of mud and hills with a strength sapping gravel bit near the end, great fun!

Managed a run without stopping this morning and a few more hills. So grey and full here just now and also cold, -3 this morning! Possible snow later in the week,

My running streak is over, DD tested positive and I came down with symptoms within 24 hrs.

Wonder how many new people we’ll get in the new year

emummy · 23/12/2021 21:37

Oh no! Hope you and Dd don’t get it too bad and get back out soon.
It always nice to get some new posters! I’m hoping to get back to the gym in January when the rib is healed, was wondering how busy it would be.

Amaura hope you recovery quickly and feel up to celebrating the big day.

Social 5 miles yesterday in very damp and dreigch weather. Then got frozen waiting 40 minutes in the drizzle for Christmas meat order.

Merry Christmas
