Well done emummy what a great achievement.

Park run this weekend.

Lovely country run yesterday, the colour of the leaves was stunning. Sociable beach run this morning.

Boring dark pavement plod. (Actually I quite like a run in the dark)

Wasn’t planning to run till next week at least, now looks like it will be a bit longer - tripped over a tree root walking the dog and have broken a rib! So no exercise of any kind for a bit.

Oh no emummy I hope it is not too painful and you recover quickly

Doublethecuddles · 19/11/2021 13:16

emummy hope your rib mends quickly and you aren’t in too much pain.

5 mile beach run in glorious sunshine.

Thanks both, cocodamol is keeping it under control, I will live vicariously through everyone else’s runs just now!

Sorry, got so behind I fell off the thread!

I have had a busy few weeks trying to get back on track with my half marathon training before the race tomorrow (not sure quite how well that worked, we'll see!) Meantime I've been working my way through even more crazy strava challenges - one was a challenge to run a segment starting with every letter of the alphabet in order, more points for finishing sooner (I did it in 4 days which I thought was pretty good but some people managed 2!). Most recently we've had to do a 5k run getting within a second or two of exactly equal splits, which I finally managed yesterday on my 5th attempt. Oh, and I need to do another run wearing as many pieces of club kit as possible... They certainly keep us busy with lots of reasons to go out running, and the competition is tight as we get closer to the end of the year.

Congratulations on the ultras emummy and amaura, impressive! And congrats on your half doublethecuddles, so frustrating to just miss out on your target time but a huge achievement post injury!

Now miles, let me go and do a bit of maths...

October: 435.6
November: 222.5

IRun4Me · 21/11/2021 09:51

The challenges sound interesting UnaOfStormhold and good luck with your half.
Chatty run with a friend.

Lovely frosty Ron on Sunday and a rather muddy wood run today. The leaves hid all the mud.

emummy hope the pain killers are working.

UnaOfStormhold your challenges sound interesting and fun. Always amazes me on Strava how people can complete challenges so quickly!

UnaOfStormhold · 25/11/2021 07:17

The half went even better than I'd hoped - set off what I thought was a bit too fast but managed to keep the pace up, and completed it 9 minutes faster than my goal time which I was really happy with!

Have I messed up the numbers by adding my October time? Unless @doublethecuddles has done 230 miles recently...

emummy · 25/11/2021 08:38

That’s fantastic @UnaOfStormhold, well done!

Well done UnaOfStormhold !

Social 5 mile beach run yesterday and a very windy cold run with a wee flurry of snow this morning.

Sorry I have mucked up the totals.

Very cold but nice run.
Hoping to be able to get back in to a better running routine in December. The last 2 months has been a bit rubbish.

Also freezing here; I took my second top off on the uphill part of today's long run and really should have put it back on for the downhill stretch; I was really chilly by the end which is unusual for me so I was very glad to get home to a warm shower, hot chocolate and hot water bottle under a blanket!

Sad news for runners here today - our parkrun will be off for months, damage from the storm has made a real mess of the lovely NT estate we run in. They’ve lost hundreds of trees, and more are unsafe.

OP posts:
UnaOfStormhold · 29/11/2021 22:00

Oh no, such a shame about your parkrun! When you'd only just got it back too...

Amaura · 30/11/2021 22:49

Sneaking in with the rest of this months’ mileage. Had a walking week so quite a bit down

IRun4Me · 02/12/2021 07:59

That’s very sad about your park run emummy
Just realised I haven’t added the last of my November miles

IRun4Me · 05/12/2021 08:32

Breezy tired run

Amaura · 05/12/2021 19:37

So im trying a RED to hit my annual target. Week one almost complete, just three and a half to go…

Did better than expected in a muddy hilly XC race today.

emummy · 06/12/2021 08:58

Ah lovely muddy XC! Well done @Amaura, good luck with RED.

Amaura · 06/12/2021 09:29

Thanks @emummy. If I can get through today (feeling seriously depleted) then I’m hopeful for another week.

How’s your recovery coming along?

emummy · 06/12/2021 09:43

Fingers crossed for you today!
Doing ok, much less sore but still not fun! Vaguely considering a run-walk later in the week, depending on how it feels. It’s been quite snowy & icy so not minding missing that!

November 396.1

December 63.2

Gosh it's cold at the moment, think I was softened up by such a lovely sunny November. We managed to avoid the worst of Storm Arwen down here but I think storm B.... is going to be worse, so I'm hoping run club tonight won't be too blowy.
