A rare city run for me; in Aberdeen for the evening while DD2 is at a class. Lovely sunset and good fun exploring some new streets.

Just catching up sorry dropped off as struggling with form and injury niggles. But I was so so pleased to finish in the cut off time (..just Grin), the Lundy Island Trail run on Sunday. It was a really well organised event, alas didn’t see any puffins but we did get the puffin medal yah! Long day though with a total of 4hrs of boat time to get to the start / back which needed seasickness tablets to survive as I’m not good on boats and I was stuffed full of head cold so dosed up on several meds! Survived on adrenaline and now I’m still shattered 3d later Blush fab adventure though. Hopefully back to parkrun on Saturday and more cycling again now as I don’t have any more longer run events planned.
Well done @Amaura sounds like a great event.

Oh Biking that sounds a very interesting event Grin Well done.
Nice run. Legs felt heavy but I told myself it was all psychological and ended up doing 10 miles. Felt tired afterwards though.

It was with Pure Trail running they do quite a few interesting events mainly in SW very well organised for an event with extra logistics involved (200+People all on the chartered boat). What was brilliant I didn’t see a single piece of litter not one! It was a cup less event with refill stops, but zero sweet wrappers or anything spotted and we were very much at the back end of the HM. Just shows it can be done. Everyone had water vest carriers on.

Well done Biking0077

A short fast run yesterday and a sociable catch up with friends this morning.

Congrats @KitchenFishCurry @Biking0077 and @Amaura for some epic running!

I'm into 9 weeks to go on the NRC plan and enjoying it so far, though it's sometimes tricky to fit all the runs into each week around family life and running club. I like the variety too - tonight's run was a short one with a series of uphill efforts getting shorter but faster.

First speed session for a few weeks for me, just some intervals, happy with the pace.

Evening run as am RD at parkrun tomorrow; a real slog but at least it was sunny and warm and the route along the river was lovely. Got my Covid booster and flu jab yesterday so that might have affected things!

parkrun yesterday. Garmin plan had a distance based tempo run which did not coincide nicely with the hills (rest/recover down and challenging pace up). Was fun though. Had to add a bit after barcode stuff but no real success with GPS lock (been very temperamental recently).

Then took my 6 year old to Junior parkrun today. Got left in her wake so will be volunteering next week!

Always fun when your children are faster than you! Did race for life with DD2 once, near the end she suggested a sprint finish then took off like Usain Bolt!
Unpleasant long run today. 16 degrees at start, went up to 21. Really struggled from about mile 10, walked the last 3 miles. Of course this left me panicking as I have a marathon in 3 weeks and then the 50k is 4 weeks after that. Cried all over Dh when he came to pick me up!
Now with my rational hat on think it’s more it was hot, I’ve been ill and haven’t slept well last few nights. So rest, got day off tomorrow then hopefully things will get better.

Kids always outsprint their grown ups... I was half expecting to struggle as parkrun plus a fencing competition was a big leg effort and I wanted to see how she got on, but wasn't expecting her to dip under 12 minutes!

KitchenFishCurry · 26/09/2021 14:26

Just adding my miles over a weeks worth. It is still so hot but I think that's going to change in the next week, better go and look for long arms and legs.

Lovely 7 mile run this morning. Went running with DD during the week and got soaked.

Gorgeous long run today - felt like a real last taste of summer. After a week of runs on pavements in the dark it was lovely to be out in the light on my favourite trails with wide horizons and fresh air to revitalise body and mind. Legs were very tired from the aforementioned previous runs, but definitely worth it!

25 miles last week for me, nothing fancy, just gentle runs. Paced DD to a parkrun PB, she’s now two minutes behind me.

Suspect I’ll need another gentle week

Nice sunny run today, felt good. Sleep rubbish just now, hoping it’ll settle down soon.

emummy hope you sleep improves. I seem to be waking up every night roasting hot. I am hoping the cooler nights may help.

Easy 5 mile run this morning along the cycle path.

IRun4Me · 30/09/2021 08:42

I sympathise on the sleep or lack of sleep emummy I gave up trying to fight it and whilst I’m not less tired I’m less stressed about it.
Short one from me. I’m a bit out of the running habit at the moment but am doing lots of other exercise

2 nights of better sleep so here’s hoping!
Very soggy run this morning, special mention to the car that splashed me! Hilly session, surprisingly good fun, waterproof socks helped.
