Yes, I have a 10 miler in October and then a half in November, both real rather than the virtual ones I have done so far. I haven't even done my first parkrun yet so I'm a bit daunted by the idea of a real race!

Doublethecuddles · 07/08/2021 21:03

A very poor 5 mile run on woodland tracks this morning. It was slow and I didn’t really enjoy it but i did it.

emummy I started watching the marathon but couldn’t stay up. UnaOfStormhold well done for committing to races. I am hoping to do our local Park run next Saturday. I don’t particularly like the course but I find it’s a marker on how I’m getting on.

A hilly 8 mile run this morning. Hope everyone has a good Sunday.

Nice steady run this morning. Feeling a bit tired and aches just now, this getting older malarkey is no fun! Missed my Sunday run due to a mixture of tiredness, DH’s birthday and shortage of time. Hoping this will mean I spring around next Sunday’s scheduled 19 miler like a gazelle.

My daily squats seem to be paying off as I managed a strong 5k tonight with lamp post intervals fingers crossed I can keep building up again now. Hope to go back to Parkrun on Saturday as I’m on 48 and was trying to get my 50 T-shirt when lock down hit.

That’s great @Biking0077. Good luck at parkrun; I’m volunteering this week, first one back so hoping it’s not too busy and the scanner app works!
Intervals in the sun this morning, cooler though, felt good.

Good luck to everyone Park Running tomorrow. Well done for volunteering emummy. Biking0077 not long until the 50 t-shirt.

6 miles this morning with very little enthusiasm, running seems to have become a bit of a slog at the moment!

Thanks @Doublethecuddles; I’m on the original committee that started our parkrun and have been surprised to discover I enjoy volunteering at it more than running it.
Slow meander through forest and past the castle tonight, lovely sunny evening, hope the weather holds for tomorrow.

A few runs to add. Not been running as far or as much but doing lots of other activities so not totally lazy.
I hope you get your enthusiasm back soon doublethecuddles
Hope the park runs go well for those doing them.
I’ve got a real half in October that I really need to start training for soon.

Park Run done and a new PB which I am chuffed with. It felt good to be running with so many people again !
Slightly annoyed that Strava did not record my whole run.

UnaOfStormhold · 14/08/2021 13:21

Back from holiday and looking forward to getting back running at home again, now planning some base-building aerobic heart rate training for a few weeks. Though I've also signed up to do the run report for parkrun next weekend so will probably want to push the pace a bit in chase of PBs!

Had a mile warm up and was really enjoying fast relaxed chatty parkrun with friend not seen for weeks than blooming knee muscle pain hit at 2.5m 😬so walked /ran the last bit and ended up walking the other mile back to my car. So fed up with it, but I did find a really sore muscle at top of my calf I worked with a spiky massage ball so I’m hoping the sports therapist lady can also work on it tomorrow. Disappointed to not be seeing my usual lady whose unfortunately just tested positive for covid but very lucky to get seen by another therapist she’s just not as highly skilled as physio.

Congrats on the PB @Doublethecuddles!
@Biking0077 that's so frustrating. Hope the therapist can work her magic on it.
O
Long slow plod for me this morning, complete with trip and fall at mile 15. Luckily was on a soft path but have still managed to scrape both knees and my face, bruise my shoulder and bash my glasses! Managed the last few miles covered in mud and feeling sorry for myself.

Oh dear @emummy I hope you recover ok and are not too sore later on.

IRun4Me · 15/08/2021 19:27

Oh emummy you poor thing.
Nice run with the dog. Lots of tractors but the dog was in good spaniel mode which was a relief Grin

Glad your okish emummy Another 3 weeks before kids back ere but we go away again next week so hope the leg holds up for a spot of coastal path run/walk. An easy 3.2m tonight on trail with calf taped up.

emummy · 19/08/2021 09:40

Fingers crossed that leg behaves itself!
Short tempo run this morning, a little cooler and very pleasant to run.

Run with the child on his bike. Ended up trying to chat to him and going faster to keep up. I’m sure it was good training.

I hope your leg behaved itself today emummy

We had a few days in London and had a very different run along by excel exhibition centre. Frustrated with Strava as it doesn’t appear to sync with my Fitbit and only recorded part of my run, same thing happened at the park run.
Children go back to school on Wednesday so hoping to get back into running more frequently. Have spent all summer being a taxi!

emummy · 21/08/2021 08:23

That’s frustrating @Doublethecuddles! I don’t have Strava so don’t know how to fix that.
Enjoyable run in the drizzle this morning; warm, misty, country lanes, just lovely!

DD back at swimming which allows me to run while she swims! 91/2 miles in the mist. Struggle the last few miles but was enjoyable.
