Thanks, @PaddingtonPaddington - I usually run every other day, but am trying every third day at the mo, so as not to overload my knee.

Frustrating but necessary!

IRun4Me · 28/04/2021 10:47

A couple of runs to add.
Was pushed for time today and so ended up doing a quick 5k which actually was a quick 5k. I didn’t mean it that way but was very impressed with myself. The next run will probably be back to pootling speed Grin

IRun4Me well done, amazing what you can do when pushed for time! Usually my best times as well.

Struggled to motivate myself today, I’m feeling really tired. I’m not sure if it’s psychological as my bloods came back as low blood count, and waiting on further tests. I didn’t go to the doctor feeling tired so am not sure what going on.

Slow 4 1/2 miles this morning.

50FootWave hope the knee behaves.

Progression run for me today. 3x 15 min intervals getting faster. Last did it in jan, this time I was faster and hr was lower so I guess the training is working Smile.

Well done for staying strong and resting @50FootWave. It is hard to do.

5 miles this morning and 3 miles with my club this evening

50FootWave · 29/04/2021 08:00

Thanks. @Purpleraindeer and @Doublethecuddles - it's getting better, but I feel like my fitness is diminishing, so it's a fine balance of not pushing too hard, but not stopping completely!

Anyway - 3 miles this morning, and so far so good. I'll do bodypump later and am sea swimming tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is ok!

Nice brisk run around country roads this morning, pushed the pace a wee bit & didn’t collapse, hurray! Been feeling really tired the last few days, this morning was much better so hopefully that continues.

Speedy short run before I did an yoga class this morning - I would much rather run than do yoga but am incredibly inflexible and yoga will help.

Another three miles for me this morning - the foot continues to behave itself so far. My ankle (on the same side) was a bit unsure about a short tarmac stretch on this particular route, but didn’t raise any proper objections.

Purpleraindeer · 29/04/2021 15:48

I like a bit of yoga @Doublethecuddles - although apparently there is not much evidence that flexibility is good for running. I was a bit Confused when I was told that as it felt as if it went against everything I’d ever been told about stretching.

Short run this am - lovely and sunny, but cold. Am glad it’s a rest day tomorrow

I think the theory is that you need a bit of stiffness for speed and too much flexibility might make you a less efficient runner? I know Paula Radcliffe’s coach wasn’t keen; they did a lot of plyometrics, supposedly to improve springiness I think. How much this matters to your average runner I don’t know!

Evening trail run chatting to a friend enjoying the sun.

Yoga is isn’t to help with running, I’m just trying to improve my flexibility which is shocking. I feel as I get older I need to try!

Lovely but cold 5 mile beach run with friends this morning.

Last day for the April total. Went for an afternoon run in the rain.

UnaOfStormhold · 30/04/2021 15:59

Last day of April and I'm still hanging on in the top 10 for the club climbing challenge despite a day or so off running post-vaccine - feeling much better now and very glad to have had it. Just one run to add.

IRun4Me · 30/04/2021 19:38

Well done UnaOfStormhold
I creak when I get out of bed sometimes. I do find yoga and stretching makes me a little less creaky.
Last of my April runs to add
1202
That’s an impressive total by everyone. Well done all.

MirandaWest · 30/04/2021 19:44

Two more runs from me - one on Wednesday and one on Thursday (this one with the running group again) 8.2 miles in total which gave me my best ever monthly mileage of 100 miles 😊

Several 10kms and a vaccine jab this week. One more big effort this weekend and then I hit recovery week. “Just” 33 miles to go...

Great April running everyone. Good luck this weekend @Amaura, you can do it!
Absolutely gorgeous run this morning through woods and a wetland nature reserve. Sunny & mild with lots of mud to test my new bright red Mudclaws, which were fab! Feeling good and I have a haircut today! And a bank holiday on Monday. It’s a good day.

New monthly challenge is a Monopoly variant so likely to have me running all over the place - thankfully no more pressure to run uphill all the time though.

Had a very gentle run today experimenting with trying to stay below HR of 136. It was fine on the flat sections, similar to my normal easy run pace, but definitely a struggle to keep below that uphill.

6 fast miles today.

Good luck with the Monopoly @UnaOfStormhold!
Nice steady run this morning, highlight was meeting a very cute puppy in the woods.
