Can we make a Les Mills on demand thread?

I'm just wondering if others are using Les Mills on demand and if we could maybe check in with each other to discuss what we are doing and what our goals are etc?

I am trying to loose 1 stone and doing 5:2 but i eat too much on my non-fasting days so I don't really loose any weight, so I'm adding exercise in the hope of shifting some weight Smile

So far I have done bodycombat 3 times this week for about half an hour each and some weights and flexibility training, but I think from next week I will be adding in bodypump

Is anyone else using this? I am really enjoying it so far Smile

There’s usually a moment in Grit when I’m lying in a heap laughing. It does get easier to follow after an few attempts and I just accept that I won’t be able to do all the routines at full whack.

Fab thanks for info re: weights! 😃

Was feeling meh yesterday, so I skipped combat and tried "best bangers" of Sh'Bam! Omg DH and I were laughing and had such a good time! Was so worth it! 😍

Agree that most classes have low impact options, and what I like about the on demand is that you can skip any tracks that don't work for you at all! 😃

I also like the releases where they're outdoors in various locations on South Island. It makes me feel that I am still able to see a bit of the world from lockdown in the UK. Is that white oval raft really in the lake, though? Or is it clever CGT? Smile

M4v3r1ck · 09/06/2020 10:37

@Abraid2 I love that too and was wondering?! 🤔 Especially the ones where they are away up a giant mountain! Are they helicoptered there?! 🤣 No way I could do a body combat after hiking for miles, AND walk back down! 🤣

flouncymcflouncerson · 09/06/2020 10:47

@nbee84 I’m not sure I could manage the cxworks, I only have the long flat resistance bands not one with a handle. As for balance that’s yoga based isn’t it? I’m hyper mobile so only supposed to Pilates and even then the instructor needs to be a physio to prevent me from hyperextending and causing myself more pain issues than normal! I did consider maybe Barre?

Abraid2 · 09/06/2020 11:13

The shadows look quite realistic; though and in one of the workouts they are wearing woolly-looking socks! Oh well, fixed me something to distract myself with.

nbee84 · 09/06/2020 11:17

Flouncy, cx can easily be adapted to not using weights or bands, I think most of them show the options without. I did the short #34 the other day and no equipment was needed. Enjoy barre, let us know how you get on.

nbee84 · 09/06/2020 11:18

Sorry that should have said cx #24

NotGenerationAlpha · 09/06/2020 13:53

@flouncymcflouncerson balance is a mix of yoga, pilates and tai chi. If you aren't supposed to do yoga and can only do pilates with supervision, then I think you should give it a miss.

MozzchopsThirty · 09/06/2020 14:43

I did NOT enjoy barre
I imagined myself gracefully toning up, that was not the case!!!!

I've tried CX works but couldn't find one with options for no band, I tried with my flat resistance band but that was also a nightmare

HHEEEEELLLLLLLPPPPPPPP

flouncymcflouncerson · 09/06/2020 15:24

I’ll take a look at that cxworks. I plan on trying Barre too @MozzchopsThirty , graceful is what I hope for too but I’m a full on lump of lard! Why don’t you take a look at no 24 like @nbee84 suggested for me?

nbee84 · 09/06/2020 15:28

Mozzchops and flouncy, just to clarify, it's the short version of 24.

flouncymcflouncerson · 09/06/2020 15:39

The 20 minute one? That’s all I’ll be fit for after combat! Waiting on a parcel then I’ll be starting my afternoon combat. New Apple Watch is charged, on and ready to go!

nbee84 · 09/06/2020 16:19

Even shorter 😄 9:54 #24 Abs & obliques

MozzchopsThirty · 09/06/2020 17:05

Is it barre 24?? Or CX works24??

I think I'll run tomorrow, easier Grin

nbee84 · 09/06/2020 17:48

Cx#24

flouncymcflouncerson · 09/06/2020 18:15

Abs and obliques??! Jesus you’ve made it sound like torture now! I’m done my combat and shower. Dinner is in the oven and my swanky new Apple Watch tracked my workout!

I’m not so sure I’ll manage, I’m not supposed to do crunches and the like due to massive pelvic floor issues, think womb dropped out of my body and then hysterectomy, cervix tacked to my spine with mesh and a remaining bladder and bowel prolapse! One of the reasons I can’t do bouncy bouncy things like attack!

nbee84 · 09/06/2020 18:31

In that case flouncy, you're probably right to avoid cxworx without proper advice. Well done on your combat, hope you enjoy barre when you do it 💪

Abraid2 · 09/06/2020 19:54

It is torture flouncy but done in a very friendly, wholesome Kiwi way. For your own good.

flouncymcflouncerson · 09/06/2020 22:24

I suspected as much @nbee84. I’ve not managed Barre yet tonight either...I did do some pelvic floor exercises though 😂

flouncymcflouncerson · 10/06/2020 16:20

I didn’t do Barre last light but did attempt it today as I’m pretty tired and wasn’t feeling able to manage a combat class. Got for only a 15 minute class that killed!!! I did it barefoot which wasn’t so fun either and also in my pjs...not my best move!

flouncymcflouncerson · 10/06/2020 16:20

*God not Got

Abraid2 · 10/06/2020 22:34

I'm wanting to get my workout done quickly this morning, so going to try a Grit Strength video this morning. Wish me luck Grin
