Can we make a Les Mills on demand thread?

Upsidedownrightnow · 05/06/2020 14:54

I'm just wondering if others are using Les Mills on demand and if we could maybe check in with each other to discuss what we are doing and what our goals are etc?

I am trying to loose 1 stone and doing 5:2 but i eat too much on my non-fasting days so I don't really loose any weight, so I'm adding exercise in the hope of shifting some weight Smile

So far I have done bodycombat 3 times this week for about half an hour each and some weights and flexibility training, but I think from next week I will be adding in bodypump

Is anyone else using this? I am really enjoying it so far Smile

@cocacola12 ha I love him too.. "weave immediately"

Pebbledashery · 15/02/2021 17:47

Do you actually get a sweat on with Shabam?

Peachypips78 · 15/02/2021 18:14

I hate dancing and am really uncoordinated so am going to give shabam a miss- I struggle with combat coordination so goodness knows what I'd be like with shabam!!

Did attack 100 today. Going to stick to body pump, core and balance for the rest of the week as my hips aren't happy!

TabbyStar · 15/02/2021 19:00

I don't really get a sweat with Sh'bam. Partly because I'm not very coordinated but even if I was I don't think it'd be as good as Attack or Step.

In other news, I've only just noticed cxworx is now Core, when did that happen? I don't know whether I've just been making assumptions for months! To be fair I don't really do it anymore, so haven't paid much attention though I'm going to start.

EasterIssland · 15/02/2021 19:03

I got sweaty today with shabam but not as much as Combat. Why is there always a song in shabam that is damm boring cuz it’s just walking around the room?

ilovetomatoes · 15/02/2021 19:13

@Pebbledashery I did sweat but I ramped it up on some of the slower bits. When they were walking around I did some star jumps for example.

Pebbledashery · 15/02/2021 19:36

You know the one thing that makes me sweat on a new level.. It's doing the ladder run in body attack! 😂

Figroller · 15/02/2021 19:43

Hi, sorry to gatecrash. I've just been doing some of the body combat workouts on YouTube. Thinking about subscribing to Lmod but just wondering can you log in on the TV? Might sound like a silly question but I hate working out with the little laptop screen. We have a smart TV so can you play the workouts on there. Thanks in advance.

Pebbledashery · 15/02/2021 19:46

@figroller I'm not sure but I use a hdmi cable and plug my laptop into the TV and it works fine.

If your tv has got the les mills app then you can. Otherwise you can buy a chromecast or Amazon fire and send from the mobile app to the devices
Knackerelli · 15/02/2021 20:54

I got the app on my phone and cast it to my smart TV. Don’t ask me how, I just pressed different icons till it asked me if I wanted to!

Figroller · 15/02/2021 21:18

OK thanks for your replies, I think im going to go for the 30 day free trial anyway and try and figure it out.

MsMartini · 15/02/2021 21:46

We've got a firestick and downloaded the app to the telly. Works well.

Cocacola12 · 15/02/2021 21:50

Firestick here too, works perfect (in fact we use the firestick for pretty much everything - Netflix, Disney, you tube etc, would recommend!)

Peachypips78 · 15/02/2021 22:15

If you have a smart TVs just search for the Les mills app then log in once you've signed up.

It's really good- well worth the money. If you have a blue light card it is £8.95 too with is a bonus.

Figroller · 16/02/2021 07:11

Oh yes we have a firestick. Dsis has a blue light card too. Thanks for the tips.

Yes I've really enjoyed the free ones on YouTube but been doing them since middle of last year so need a bit more variety.

I was going to the pure gym before lockdown but I'm not going to rejoin. Seen much better results working out at home. I like how they work in time to the music which they never seemed to do at the gym classes.

Constancevariable · 16/02/2021 12:26

I've just signed up with a month's free trial. It's great, I've been doing the beginners / instruction classes to begin with, ironically that is not something I've ever done in RL, I've always just turned up and joined in.

Previously I'd signed up for Davina OYG which I wanted to love but just didn't in the end.

Pebbledashery · 16/02/2021 13:03

I think LMOD is literally the best thing I have discovered in lock down! I can't believe how much I sweat from doing it!
I won't be returning back to the gym!

kittykarate · 16/02/2021 13:57

I'm still loving it. Which is a good thing because I have another 16 months of membership paid for ;-)

I think I'm going to be training barefoot for the rest of the week - I went out and did some rollerskiing at the weekend and I've got some big blisters on my feet, and they were really catching my trainers yesterday in BA, and today in BP.

sociallydistained · 16/02/2021 19:13

I am loving all the LM love here. It really has changed my life and introduced a love for fitness. I can see the same can be said for many! :)

I have had days off so wanted to do a bit more as I had the time so mixed some workouts the last 2 days. I want to write down what I do in a week as I’ve really been mixing it up lately and will be good to keep track.

Monday: Bodyattack 109, Pump Metabolic Blast (85mins)
Tuesday: Bodystep Athletic (new one), BP Arms, Combat #58 (92 mins)

Can’t believe I’ve had LMOD 4 years and have never done BC 58! I don’t think I’ve done 59 either so will try this week lol.
My knees are really feeling it now though.

ilovetomatoes · 16/02/2021 19:55

Body pump 112 today. I don’t have a bar so did it with dumbbells. It was ok but I definitely feel better doing BP with a bar so will have a look for one

Figroller · 16/02/2021 20:20

Well ive signed up. Got it for £8.95 too with the blue light discount and 14 days free trial. Thanks for all your help ladies.

Even managed to get it on the TV with the firestick. I only have dumbells. Any equipment you would recommend?

MsMartini · 16/02/2021 21:54

A resistance band. I got a black stretchy one from Decathlon, with handles, and it does for Core. You can use dumbells instead of weight plates for Core, and to some extent for Pump and probably grit strength.

I've got barbells and a step but often stick to Combat as it is such fun Grin and Core because little and often for those muscles is so effective. I do strength training and a bootcamp as well as LMOD, so that seems like a good mix.

sociallydistained · 17/02/2021 12:15

Monday: Bodyattack 109, Pump Metabolic Blast (85mins)
Tuesday: Bodystep Athletic (new one), BP Arms, Combat #58 (92 mins)
Wednesday: BC #59 (Again, never done this one!) and a half hour zone match workout on Myzone (1 hour)

Figroller · 17/02/2021 22:23

Thanks MsMartini. Decathlon isn't even open for click and collect near me but I'm going to try amazon for one of the bands with the handles.

Made a start tonight with a dance wildcard with Rachel, bc 84 I think it was and a short core. I love body combat too and now I have loads to choose from!

Thats some good going there socially!
